The wreckage of steel burned fiercely, yet the biting cold wind made Revis's body tremble uncontrollably. He woke groggily, the blood on his face frozen into red ice. Revis looked around. He was still strapped into his seat, the safety belt holding him firmly in place. But the bad news was that he was upside down, hanging in midair. He tried to unfasten his belt, only for a sharp pain to shoot through his left shoulder. He cried out at once. An iron spike had pierced his shoulder, though it had not gone all the way through.

Revis gripped the iron spike in his left shoulder with his right hand, wrenched it out with a shake, and threw it aside. It struck the cabin wall with a clang. He gasped heavily as icy air flooded his lungs, easing the pain somewhat. His right hand trembled as he unfastened the safety belt, but he did not let go. Instead, he tightly gripped the belt buckle. After a brief sway, he released it and landed safely on the ground.

"Bandages... bandages..."

Revis hurriedly lunged toward a red plastic case. It was medic Jack's first-aid kit. An iron rod was stuck through Jack's head now, his corpse already cold, and the entire helicopter had crashed. Revis took off his clothes, shivering violently in the piercing wind. He quickly wrapped the wound on his left shoulder with bandages. After that, he calmed down considerably, put his clothes back on, and sat down to rest for a while.

The wind outside seemed much weaker, and its wailing howl had faded away. Gradually, he felt warmth returning to his body. Revis stood up and opened a storage compartment above him. Flashlights, rifles, pistols, and
