Background / History

Honkai Beasts are hostile creatures associated with Honkai outbreaks and humanity's long-running war against the Honkai. They attack Valkyries, civilians, military forces, and industrial settlements; their actions have contributed to the destruction of cities and continents across the Previous Civilization Era. 1 5 33

They may form naturally from Honkai energy or arise through the transformation of animals. Animals with high Honkai resistance can gradually mutate into mindless Honkai Beasts, while those with low resistance die during exposure. Incomplete transformations may preserve some intelligence and biological weaknesses. 79

Honkai Beasts are controlled or influenced by a specific Honkai energy signal. A simulator capable of imitating this signal can agitate nearby Beasts, alter their movements, and potentially manipulate individuals into directing their companions. At maximum output, the signal can provoke even Emperor-class Beasts unless a Law-Ruler is present. 58

On Mars, the Beasts develop differently from their Earth counterparts. Their evolution is described as purposeful and guided by the Honkai consciousness: Martian Assault-types have developed mouths, digestive systems, lighter wings, nest-building behavior, and the ability to consume mineral ore. 85 86

Characteristics

• Honkai Beast populations are linked to environmental Honkai energy; lower-level Beasts become restless when local energy declines and instinctively move toward areas with higher concentrations. 88
• They are drawn to human settlements, industrial activity, and battlefields, producing escalating swarms around heavily developed areas. 88 91
