Background
Di Tian was born during the Dragon Clan’s golden age and survived its decline. He personally saw the living Dragon Kings, met the Dragon God, and received the Dragon God’s inheritance. This firsthand experience allows him to recognize royal dragon bloodlines that younger dragons such as Zi JI cannot immediately identify 14.
After the Nine Great Dragon Kings fell, he searched across the Douluo Continent for their whereabouts. He located the remains of the Fire Dragon King and Ice Dragon King at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, but did not disturb them for fear of violating a taboo 14 22.
By the time of Luo Feng’s arrival, Di Tian has ruled the Star Dou Great Forest for hundreds of thousands of years. As the Silver Dragon King’s representative, he prioritizes restoring the Dragon Clan and preserving the soul beast race 14 33.
Appearance
- Humanoid form: A burly man with a solemn face, dark-gold dragon horns, and black dragon wings. He wears a black robe decorated with gold patterns 13.
- Dragon form: An enormous black dragon. His distant silhouette overwhelms Luo Feng’s initial expectation of a dragon three thousand meters long, though no exact measurement is given 2.
- Combat features: His scales visibly open and close as he hovers during his confrontation with Long Xiaoyao 33.
Personality
Di Tian is imposing, proud, and quick to anger when the forest or its protected members are threatened. Wang Qiu’er’s disappearance sends him into a fury, and he initially treats Luo Feng as a human who has lured away both the Auspicious Beast and Zi JI. Nevertheless, Wang Qiu’er affectionately calls him “Uncle Di Tian” and insists that he is kind 2 9 13.
His concern for the Dragon Clan outweighs personal resentment. Once he recognizes Luo Feng’s royal dragon aura and learns that he can open Dragon Valley, Di Tian becomes willing to negotiate. He later agrees to protect Luo Feng despite lingering distrust of his humanity 14 16.
Di Tian is deeply obedient to Gu Yuena. He receives her instructions with reverence and immediately ends his battle with Long Xiaoyao when she intervenes. He also resents the Divine Realm’s restrictions on soul beasts and openly criticizes the unequal privileges Tang San grants his own family 14 31 33.
Abilities & Skills
Dragon God Claw
A divine technique taught to Di Tian personally by the Dragon God 21.
- Gathers golden light around his right claw before delivering a powerful tearing strike 20.
- Opens a three-meter-wide breach in the formation surrounding the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, allowing Wang Qiu’er, Zi JI, and Ma Xiaotao to escape 21.
- Is described as powerful enough to annihilate a Divine Official descending from the Divine Realm 21.
- Creates an opening in the Lovesick Heartbreak Red formation rather than ending the entire trial; Luo Feng handles the remaining obstacle 20 21.
Dragon Night Dark Slash
Identified in the text as Di Tian’s eighth Soul Skill, this attack is delivered through his Black Dragon Sword 33.
- Produces a crescent-shaped black sword ray a thousand zhang long 33.
- Cuts through space and causes the void along its path to collapse 33.
- Is used against Long Xiaoyao’s Holy Dragon Sky-Rending Claw; the exchange leaves Di Tian shaken but ready to escalate to Dragon God Claw 33.
Dragon Might and Physical Defense
- Coercive pressure: His arrival immobilizes the immortal herbs at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Even a sideways glance prevents Infernal Delicate Apricot and Aromatic Silk Beauty from acting 20 21.
- Durability: Luo Feng treats Di Tian’s body as a benchmark for defenses that ordinary human Soul Skills struggle to penetrate 6.
- Bloodline limitation: Luo Feng’s Dark Dragon King inheritance suppresses Di Tian’s origin through its superior bloodline, despite Luo Feng not yet being capable of matching him head-on 14.
Sensing and Dragon Lore
- Searches for the missing Auspicious Beast through long-range probing, though Wang Qiu’er’s golden concealment allows her and Luo Feng to evade him 2.
- Recognizes the Dark Dragon King’s royal aura as soon as Luo Feng manifests the corresponding Soul Ring 14.
- Detects Long Xiaoyao’s arrival and immediately projects his dragon might toward the forest’s outskirts 33.
Equipment / Weapons
- Black Dragon Sword — A massive dragon-scaled sword entwined with gold-and-black divine patterns. Di Tian summons it from empty air during his battle with Long Xiaoyao 33.
Relationships
- Gu Yuena — His master and the Silver Dragon King he represents. He advises her, carries out her orders, and protects Luo Feng in support of her plans for the Dragon Clan 14 16 31.
- Wang Qiu’er — The forest’s Auspicious Beast, who calls him “Uncle Di Tian.” He reacts fiercely to her disappearance, while she regards him as a protective elder rather than the monster Luo Feng fears 2 9.
- Luo Feng — Initially an abductor in Di Tian’s eyes; later a reluctant ally whose control of Dragon Valley is vital to the clan’s restoration. Di Tian negotiates access to the valley and becomes his secret protector 13 14 16.
- Zi JI — A fellow dragon who addresses him as “Lord Di Tian.” She defies his accusation that Luo Feng deceived her and physically shields Luo Feng during their confrontation 13 14.
- Xiong Jun — A forest overlord who frequently fights and challenges him. Di Tian initially suspects him of taking the missing Auspicious Beast 10 31.
- Tang San — An opposing power whose treatment of soul beasts and manipulation of the mortal world Di Tian condemns 20 31.
- Long Xiaoyao — A Level 99 Limit Douluo who fights Di Tian after being refused access to Luo Feng. Their confrontation ends only when Gu Yuena orders Di Tian to stand down 33.
Story Role / Major Arcs
The Missing Auspicious Beast
Di Tian awakens after Luo Feng carries Wang Qiu’er away and orders a search for her abductor. Wang Qiu’er conceals herself and Luo Feng with golden light, diverting his probing. Xiong Jun later reports that Di Tian has repeatedly lost his temper during her absence 2 10.
Opening Dragon Valley
When Luo Feng returns to the forest, Di Tian confronts him over his relationships with Wang Qiu’er and Zi JI. His hostility subsides after Luo Feng gains the Dark Dragon King’s inheritance, revealing a bloodline Di Tian recognizes as royal 13 14.
Di Tian offers to approve the relationships if Luo Feng admits him and Gu Yuena into Dragon Valley. After entering, he identifies the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well as the resting place of the two missing Dragon Kings. Gu Yuena subsequently explains Luo Feng’s importance to strengthening the clan’s bloodline, prompting Di Tian to pledge covert protection 14 15 16.
Recovering the Dragon Kings’ Remains
Di Tian intervenes when Luo Feng’s group is trapped by the Lovesick Heartbreak Red Trial. At Luo Feng’s request, he uses Dragon God Claw to breach its barrier. Luo Feng then uses Time Stop and Dragon Valley to recover the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings’ remains 20 21.
After witnessing Luo Feng relocate the entire well into Dragon Valley, Di Tian leaves to report to Gu Yuena 22.
Prisoners and Intruders
Di Tian accompanies Gu Yuena when she claims the defeated Da Ming and Er Ming as bargaining chips for negotiations with the Divine Realm. He offers gold or high-ranking soul beast Soul Bones as payment before Gu Yuena settles the exchange herself, then takes the prisoners away on her orders 26.
Later, he asks whether Xiong Jun should be told to restrain himself against Tang San’s daughter. Gu Yuena declines, provided the encounter neither kills her nor forces out Tang San’s divine consciousness 31.
When Long Xiaoyao arrives seeking rejuvenation through Dragon Valley, Di Tian refuses him entry and fights him. He withdraws immediately when Gu Yuena orders that the visitor be admitted 33.
