Past with Yu Xiaogang

Liu Erlong and Yu Xiaogang fell in love while traveling with Flender. They nearly married, but her father interrupted their wedding and attacked Yu Xiaogang before the ceremony was completed. Liu Erlong subsequently waited more than a decade without receiving a clear answer from him 21 27 43.

Rescue in Sunset Forest

While hunting her seventh Soul Ring, Liu Erlong was badly wounded and poisoned by a fifty-thousand-year Poison Fire Scorpion Dragon Beast. Li Ye intervened, and Spear Old Demon used his body to fight the beast and carry her to safety. Li Ye expelled the poison, administered antidotes, and treated her wounds before collapsing from the backlash of borrowing power 20.

After awakening, Liu Erlong recognized that her rescuer was suffering despite having no visible injuries. She tried to warm him, helping him regain awareness while his soul was engulfed in Death Desolate Qi. They initially concealed their identities from one another: she called herself Long’er, while he used Feng Yeli 21.

With Dugu Bo’s assistance, Liu Erlong later killed the same beast and absorbed its Soul Ring, becoming a level-72 Soul Saint. Before parting from Li Ye, she revealed her real name and told him that she was Blue Tyrant Academy’s dean 24 25.

Soul Hunting and Marriage

Liu Erlong maintained her relationship with Li Ye through infrequent, privately arranged meetings. She later accompanied him into Star Dou Forest to obtain his fourth Soul Ring. Together, they exploited a prolonged battle between a Titan Giant Ape and a Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear, defeating the exhausted beasts and allowing Li Ye to claim both Soul Rings. She guarded him during their simultaneous absorption 30 38.

The pair promised to marry in two years. Li Ye eventually arrived at Blue Tyrant Academy with Xiao Wu, while Dugu Yan was already staying with Liu Erlong. Shrek and Family Life

Liu Erlong reunited with Li Ye at Shrek’s celebration following his return as a Soul Douluo. She later helped lead Shrek during the tournament finals in Yu Xiaogang’s absence. After Li Ye discovered that An Dong’er was Bibi Dong, Liu Erlong encouraged him not to abandon the woman he loved 69 78 80.

Liu Erlong and Li Ye’s other wives pressed him to start a family, enlisting Ma Xiunuo and Yu Xiaogang’s support. She subsequently gave birth to Li Ye’s eldest son. After rejecting Li Ye’s proposed name, Li Gandang, she approved the name Li Chengzhi, chosen following discussions among the Night Emperor Pavilion’s elders 96 107 108.

Liu Erlong is bold, hot-tempered, and fierce in battle. Yin Shu regards her as a temperamental dean who leaves much of the academy’s work to others. Against Soul Beasts, she shows little discomfort with gruesome violence and even takes some satisfaction in overpowering them 38 47.

Her protectiveness can override concern for her own safety. Although severely injured in Sunset Forest, she deliberately draws the Poison Fire Scorpion Dragon Beast’s attention back to herself to protect Li Ye. Later, she worries about him sleeping on the floor and asks him to avoid hurting Xiao Wu and the others during their spar 20 35 110.

Around Li Ye, she often adopts a gentler, teasing manner. She initially restrains her jealousy toward Bibi Dong to preserve her image, but later encourages Li Ye to pursue her rather than retreat from his feelings 34 80.
