Ning Rongrong had not seen exactly what happened. All she knew was that after two people walked past Tang Mo, his belt and wrist guards suddenly appeared in his hands, along with two extra money pouches.
"I robbed a couple of thieves." Tang Mo shrugged, put his belt and wrist guards back on, then opened the money pouches and looked inside.
The two habitual thieves' money pouches were light. As the saying went, a crafty rabbit had three burrows. Their pouches usually held only that day's takings, while the rest of their savings were generally hidden somewhere else.
"Not much." Tang Mo looked at the scattered Silver Soul Coins and Copper Soul Coins inside, an unsurprised expression flashing across his face. "But that's normal. Come on, Rongrong. I'll buy you some candy."
At his words, the smile at the corners of Ning Rongrong's mouth suddenly turned rather peculiar. As though she had discovered a new continent, her eyes filled with wonder. "That's fun! That's fun! Teach me, big brother!"
"Your hands just need to be fast enough. There's no special technique." Tang Mo rubbed Ning Rongrong's head. "Besides, petty theft isn't a good habit. I was just giving them a taste of their own medicine, to teach them a lesson."
"Then I want to practice making my hands faster, too." Ning Rongrong's eyes darted as she rather astutely changed her wording.
"That's easy enough." Tang Mo gave Ning Rongrong an approving look.
Petty theft was out of the question, of course, but practicing hand speed for self-defense was fine. That was the art of language.
As the two drew closer to the exit of the Sea Goods District, fewer and fewer figures passed around them, as though someone were clearing the area.
Tang Mo's gaze gradually took on a chill.
