Jiang Che naturally knew why Ning Fengzhi had done this. He merely wanted to build a friendship.
But from what Jiang Che remembered, shouldn't Ning Fengzhi have arranged for Ning Rongrong to stay by his side to cultivate that friendship?
It seems the abilities I've shown so far still don't measure up to Tang San's! Jiang Che thought.
That made sense. After all, Tang San had twin martial souls, as well as the Clear Sky Hammer, the continent's foremost tool martial soul. His future achievements would certainly be greater.
Early the next morning, dawn had barely broken.
Jiang Che took a carriage to the academy early.
Perhaps afraid of the awkwardness of meeting again, Yu Tianheng had actually taken leave.
"It seems what happened last time dealt that kid quite a blow."
But it didn't matter. Cultivation was their priority at this stage. They didn't need to spar every day; a match every so often would do.
There were no other classes today either. Rather than hurrying to Ning Clan Castle, Jiang Che stayed obediently at the academy to cultivate, only setting out after classes ended that afternoon.
Ning Clan Castle was not far from Heaven Dou Royal Academy, a carriage ride of a little over ten minutes.
Predominantly white and European in style, the enormous castle stood upon a vast plain, imposing and magnificent.
"Young Master Jiang, the sect master has already left instructions. Please follow me." The guard seemed to know him, recognizing him at a glance.
"Sorry for the trouble." Jiang Che cupped his hands, then followed the man into the castle.
After walking for about five minutes, the guard led Jiang Che into a bamboo grove, tranquil amid the murmuring water.
"Young Master Jiang, His Excellency Sword Douluo is inside," the guard said.
Jiang Che nodded.
