The Fifth Simulation, Target: Hela, Goddess of Death
Scorching hot sand mixed with the howling wind pounded against Lynn's black trench coat. The New Mexico desert was barren and rough, with a pungent, earthy smell permeating the air. The pale beams of searchlights swept back and forth around the barbed wire fence a few hundred meters away, ripping the night into fragments.
Lynn's eyes reflected the short-handled warhammer stuck in the center of the Meteorite Crater. On his retina, the Scarlet System Panel was pulsating at an extremely high frequency, and a sharp electronic buzzing pierced his brain nerves.
Gwen Stacy hung upside down from a dead tree trunk beside Lynn, her White Suit almost blending into the night. Eerie blue Bioelectricity danced at her fingertips, crackling and popping. She keenly caught Lynn's muscles tensing instantly.
"Master, your heart skipped a beat." Gwen Stacy's voice, hidden behind her mask, was extremely nervous. With a flick of her wrist, she pointed a dagger at the distant military camp. "Are those uniformed scum annoying you? I'll go and slit their throats right now."
"Quiet." Lynn raised his hand and flicked Gwen Stacy's hood lightly with his finger.
Gwen Stacy immediately sheathed her dagger like a tamed cat, landing lightly on the sand. She hugged Lynn's leg, rubbed her cheek against his knee, and let out a submissive groan.
Lynn didn't even look at the agents in the distance. His attention was entirely on the System Panel.
[Target locked: Hela (Goddess of Death)]
[Current Status: First Princess of Asgard / Executioner of the Nine Realms]
[Simulation Node: The Battle of the Valkyries’ Fall (Hela’s Rebellion, Odin's Suppression)]
[Identity Loading: Asgard Low-Ranking Cannon Fodder Private]
[Mission Objective: Achieve the SS S-rank "Till Death Do Us Part" ending]
Lynn's lips curled into a bloodthirsty smirk.
The Goddess of Death? A monster on Universal-level. Just a few hours ago, this woman was trying to Psychic Brand on him across the endless Bathroom sky. Now, the system has directly opened a conquest instance in her lair.
"To win over an extremely arrogant tyrant who treats life like dirt..." Lynn thought to herself. Ordinary self-inflicted suffering or sentimental drama wouldn't even make a ripple in front of Hela. She would only crush any sycophant under her feet.
To make her remember, to make her yearn for you madly during the long years of being sealed away, one must be more arrogant than her, more contemptuous of death than her.
"Gwen Stacy." Lynn lowered her eyes, looking at the white figure at her feet.
"Yes, Master." Gwen Stacy immediately raised her head, her eyes filled with fervor.
"I need to deal with some internal matters and protect my body," Lynn's voice was icy cold. "No matter what happens, even if lightning strikes from the sky, no one is allowed within ten steps of me. If anyone crosses this line..."
"I'll chop him into mincemeat and chew him up, bones and all." Gwen Stacy replied without hesitation, the dagger in her hand flashing out again, the eerie blue light illuminating the morbid killing intent in her eyes.
Lynn ruffled her hood with satisfaction, then closed her eyes.
"System, start simulation."
The intense feeling of weightlessness instantly robbed Lynn of his five senses. The surrounding yellow sand, gale, and searchlights were all sucked away.
When I opened my eyes again, a thick, almost unbearable smell of blood assaulted my nostrils.
There is no sandstorm, no desert.
The sky was completely obscured by thick, leaden-gray clouds. Several dark red bolts of Thunder rolled weakly deep within the clouds, unable to strike down. The entire Magnetic Field of the space was completely taken over by an extremely terrifying pressure of death.
Lynn looked down and saw that he was wearing a tattered leather armor, with a deep, bone-revealing gash on his chest from which black blood was seeping. In his hand, he clutched a standard iron sword that had been broken in half.
Asgard cannon fodder at the bottom of society. Inferior soldiers who don't even have divine blood.
"Ah--!"
A piercing scream came from overhead. Lynn looked up and saw a white-winged winged horse pierced through the chest by a jet-black thorn, and along with the golden-armored female warrior on its back, it crashed into the mud a dozen meters in front of Lynn like a kite with a broken string.
Corpses littered the ground. Golden fragments of armor mixed with severed limbs stained the originally brown earth a dark red.
The Valkyrie Legion, Odin's most elite force, now lay scattered across the ground like slaughtered livestock.
At the top of that mountain of flesh, made up of hundreds of corpses, stood a woman.
She wore dark green, form-fitting War Armor that accentuated her powerful curves. A menacing Black Thorn Crown adorned her head. Her pale skin was spotless, yet the air around her was distorted by the intensity of the carnage.
Hela.
"You worthless trash think you can put chains around my neck?" Hela's voice wasn't loud, but it carried an arrogance that pierced the soul.
She grabbed a high-ranking Valkyries by the neck with one hand, lifting her into the air. The Valkyries kicked wildly, desperately slashing her longsword at Hela's arm, but not even leaving a white mark.
"Click."
Hela twisted her wrist, snapping the Valkyries's neck, and tossed her into the pile of corpses like trash.
"Odin is old." Hela sneered, spreading her arms wide, her palms surging with dark, Death Force. "The Nine Realms need a new master."
As soon as he finished speaking, thousands of pitch-black "Night Sky Sword" instantly materialized in the void.
"Die, you insects."
Hela pressed her hands down sharply.
A rain of swords, accompanied by a piercing shriek that tore through the air, poured indiscriminately down upon the remaining Asgard soldiers and Valkyries on the battlefield.
Screams and muffled thuds of flesh being pierced filled the air instantly.
The few remaining soldiers around Lynn were so frightened that they dropped their weapons and scrambled backward, only to be pinned to the ground by a black sword that fell from the sky.
The rain of swords also covered the area where Lynn was located.
run?
Lynn stared at the dozen or so Night Sky Sword rapidly enlarging above his head, a crazed smile spreading across his face.
What's the difference between running away from the Goddess of Death and being slaughtered pigs and dogs?
Lynn didn't back down; instead, he spread his five fingers and threw away the useless broken sword with a "clang".
He straightened his back, facing the rain of deathly swords falling from the sky, and stepped through the sticky blood as he walked step by step toward the mountain of corpses.
"Whoosh--"
A Night Sky Sword, grazing Lynn's cheek and severing a lock of his black hair. The sharp blade cut a two-inch-long gash across his face.
Warm blood dripped down his chin onto the tattered leather armor.
Lynn didn't even blink, his steps were so steady that he didn't sway at all.
"Whoosh! Puff!"
Another black sword grazed his shoulder and embedded itself in the ground. The enormous Impact made half of his body numb, but he continued to walk forward.
He didn't dodge, didn't flinch, didn't even adopt a defensive stance. He simply swaggered through the deadly rain of swords with an almost defiant composure.
This extremely unusual behavior, in a battlefield filled with fear and despair, was as glaring as a torch in the dark.
At the top of the mountain of corpses.
Hela, who had been idly watching the Carnage below, suddenly stopped in her tracks.
She narrowed her Death Energy eyes slightly, her gaze piercing through the shadows of swords, landing precisely on the lowly soldier wearing tattered leather armor.
There was no fear, no pleading.
The ant, its cheek bleeding, was staring straight at her, its eyes even revealing a hint of undisguised scrutiny.
Hela frowned slightly.
She raised her right hand and gently hooked her index finger.
The countless Night Sky Sword suddenly hovered in mid-air. The entire battlefield fell into a suffocating silence, with only the sound of dripping blood remaining.
Hela looked down at Lynn, who stood at the foot of the mountain of corpses, a cruel and amused smirk playing on her lips.
"A fearless insect?" Hela's voice boomed in Lynn's ears, carrying an undeniable pressure. "Raise your head and tell me, what gives you the right to look me in the eye?"
