Packaging the Abyss Protocol for Compliance, Special Posts at the Expanded Standing Committee Meeting
The button feels cold and real when pressed.
The soft "click" didn't resonate in the empty White Bone Hall, but it triggered a silent avalanche in Lynn's nerve endings.
He leaned back on the Throne, the coolness of the metal still lingering on his fingertips.
At the bottom of the retina, those few lines of system commands representing the Highest Access Privileges have quietly disappeared.
The "Abyss Protocol" has been activated.
[Connecting protocol units: Wanda Maximoff... Hela... Gwen Stacy Stacy... Jean Grey...]
[Permissions confirmed. Core resources access channel activated.]
Lynn closed his eyes briefly, and when he opened them again, his eyes were calm and serene.
He didn't look at the tangible twelve-hour countdown hour on the wall, ticking away second by second. The person who flipped the table wouldn't care how much time was left on the table.
"Notify all members involved in the agreement that an expanded meeting of the Management Committee Standing Committee Member will be held in Small Conference Room No. 3 in ten minutes."
His voice was precisely transmitted to each person's terminal through the Internal Communications system.
Small Conference Room No. 3.
The furnishings here are simple: a dark, round conference table and a few identical chairs. There are no windows, and the lighting is a constant, cold white.
The meeting hadn't even started, but the air already felt heavy.
Hela Stability Maintenance Office Director Hela, sat in the first seat to Lynn's left, dressed in military uniform. She didn't speak, but unconsciously tapped the smooth tabletop with her fingers, which were covered in black metal gloves. With each tap, a fine ring of black frost spread from her fingertips, then silently melted away the next second.
Behind her, the faint echo of the Undead Legion's armor rubbing against each other could be heard—a tangible manifestation of their barely suppressed killing intent.
Wanda, the Director the Technology Integration Department, sat to Lynn's right. She was dressed simply today, in an ordinary red sweater. Unlike Hela, she wasn't outgoing; she just sat quietly with her hands on her knees. But within three feet of her, the light was subtly distorted, and several wisps of Scarlet Chaos Energy, like living snakes, hovered and swam around her, turning any attempt to approach into nothingness.
Liaison Office Director Gwen Stacy and Mutants Management Committee Director Jean Grey sat on either side, their expressions solemn. They knew what the activation of the "Abyss Protocol" meant.
This means the negotiating table has been overturned.
This means that the highest level of survival crisis since the establishment of the Negative Zone Management Committee has arrived.
Lynn walked into the conference room, and all eyes immediately focused on him. He pulled out the chair at the head of the table, sat down, and moved with composure.
Comrades.
He spoke, his voice not loud, yet it clearly drowned out the faint crackling of frost shattering at Hela's fingertips, and calmed the restless Chaos Energy around Wanda.
"This urgent call to everyone is due to a sudden and extremely severe external challenge that requires us to immediately unify our thinking, elevate our perspective, and prepare for the most difficult situation."
His gaze swept across the entire room, lingering for a moment on Hela and Wanda's faces.
"Get to the point." Hela's voice was cold and concise. "Who is the enemy, and where are their coordinates?"
Lynn did not answer directly, but instead pushed a blank, unmarked document that had just been printed onto the center of the table.
"Based on the abnormal fluctuations in high-dimensional meteorological data jointly monitored by the Department of Technology and the Liaison Office, and combined with the special intelligence analysis provided by our external advisor, Comrade Sylvie," Lynn stated in a flat tone, as if reading a routine weather warning report, "It is predicted that within the next twelve hours, our jurisdiction will experience an unprecedented, widespread extreme low-temperature meteorological disaster."
"Meteorological disaster?" Hela frowned, clearly displeased with the term. "Lynn, my Legion are assembled, and you're talking to me about the weather now?"
"Comrade Hela, please observe meeting Discipline." Lynn's tone remained unchanged, but his eyes held an undeniable seriousness. "We are holding Standing Committee now, not a pre-battle mobilization meeting. Accurately 'characterizing' the incident is the fundamental prerequisite for all subsequent actions to be legal and compliant."
He turned to Wanda: "Comrade Wanda, could you add something from a technical perspective?"
Wanda raised her head, her Scarlet eyes glancing at Lynn before she spoke, her voice somewhat unsteady yet clear. "This 'low temperature' is not a physical concept. Its essence is a kind of Underlying Erosion and erasure of the Timeline's very core. Once it arrives, everything within its domain will be forcibly reset to 'nothingness'."
She translated the terrible consequences of the "Omnidirectional Pruning Order" in the simplest language.
The temperature inside the meeting room seemed to have dropped a few degrees.
"The nature of this incident is extremely serious, and the consequences will be extremely severe." Lynn continued, making a concluding statement, "Therefore, in order to cope with this potential sudden public safety incident, safeguard the fundamental right to survival of all residents within the jurisdiction, and maintain basic social stability, I propose that the highest-level emergency response Contingency Plan of the Management Committee be activated immediately."
He paused for a moment, allowing those present to process the information.
"At my suggestion and after consulting with the core leadership team, the Management Committee has decided to temporarily establish two non-permanent special positions during the emergency response period."
Lynn's gaze locked onto Hela once again.
"First Special Commissioner for Emergency Response, Stability Maintenance, and External Risk Management."
"Comrade Hela, you are experienced in maintaining stability, have a tough style, and dare to fight. I propose that you assume this position and be fully responsible for handling all external Impact and destabilizing factors caused by this 'extreme disaster.' You have the authority to decisively deal with any unauthorized attempts to forcibly enter our jurisdiction in accordance with the ' Negative Zone Special Administrative Region Safety Regulations.'"
Hela looked at Lynn, her eyes filled with a mixture of murderous intent and confusion. She didn't understand the purpose of these convoluted titles, but she understood the words "decisive action."
"I need written authorization," she said in a low voice.
"The Liaison Office will issue an official Red-Headed Document later." Lynn nodded, then looked at Wanda.
"Second Special Commissioner for Core Asset Protection and Underlying Structure Reinforcement."
"Comrade Wanda, you possess irreplaceable technological advantages in the areas of energy and rules. I propose that you assume this position, taking full responsibility for building the region's underlying Data Firewall, reinforcing core infrastructure, and ensuring that our assets are not eroded or damaged under any extreme circumstances."
Unlike Hela, Wanda didn't press for answers. She simply nodded gently and whispered, "Okay."
To her, whatever Lynn said was law.
"Comrade Gwen Stacy," Lynn turned to the Liaison Office Director, "You are responsible for drafting the relevant appointment documents and preparing a 'Letter to All Residents Regarding Responding to Extreme Weather Disasters,' and guiding public opinion to avoid causing unnecessary internal panic."
"Jean," he said, turning finally to Jean Grey, "You keep things stable inside, especially the Mutants community, and make sure there's no trouble back home."
The division of labor is clear, and the deployment is well-defined.
A cosmic war capable of wiping out an entire Dimension was packaged by Lynn using standard bureaucratic rhetoric as an internal stability maintenance operation in response to a natural disaster.
Those present were not ordinary people. They might not understand the significance of this procedure, but they all understood that Lynn was using his methods to cloak their upcoming "violent acts" in a "legal" guise.
Hela fell silent. She leaned back in her chair, her murderous aura diminishing considerably, transforming into a quiet acceptance of orders.
Gwen Stacy has already begun drafting documents on her terminal.
The tense atmosphere in the meeting room was replaced by a peculiar sense of order belonging to the bureaucratic system.
Lynn picked up the teacup in front of him, which he had never touched before, and was about to take a symbolic sip to announce the next agenda item of the meeting.
Just then...
A piercing, high-level alarm, unlike anything ever heard in the Negative Zone, shattered the silence of the White Bone Hall without warning!
The alarm pierced through the thick walls of the conference room, assaulting everyone's eardrums.
The conference room door was violently flung open, and a Communications Officer responsible for overall monitoring stumbled in, his face drained of color.
"Director! Fellow Director!"
His voice trembled, choked with sobs.
"TVA's... no, it's... that 'weather disaster' we detected!"
"It... it came early!"
The Communications Officer pointed outside the door, his fingers trembling violently with fear.
"Before the countdown even ended, it had already... arrived!"
