The Void Beast's Illegal Border Crossing, the Originalist Faction's Desperate Move
White Bone Hall, the low hum had ceased.
But the invisible pressure in the air did not dissipate.
Lynn's fingertip hovered over the now-displayed Communicator button. His gaze fell upon the main control screen in front of him.
On the light screen, an analysis report that had just been urgently submitted by the Technology Division was displayed quietly. The title of the report was simple, "Preliminary Assessment of High-Energy Biological Reactions in the Outer Territory of the Jurisdiction".
No photos, no videos.
There was only a series of cold data and a constantly changing three-dimensional model composed of countless points of light.
At the heart of the model is a Chaos mass of colors that cannot be accurately described by the system, with red noise representing spatial disturbances constantly emanating from its edges.
"Target entity, no officially identified beacon of any known civilization or organization detected."
"Its trajectory does not conform to conventional navigation logic, exhibiting an irregular drifting state."
"The energy level... has exceeded the safety threshold; the system recommends classifying it as a top-level potential threat."
Lynn's gaze lingered on the phrase "No official identification beacon detected" for a full three seconds.
When you lose money at the card table, you just want to flip the table.
The methods used were not sophisticated, and were even somewhat unethical.
But it's often very direct, and also the most difficult to handle, because the other party has no intention of following any rules anymore.
He raised his hand and pressed another separate red button on the armrest of the Throne.
A gentle notification sound rang out.
"Notice: All members of the Management Committee Standing Committee Member will attend an emergency expanded meeting in Conference Room One in five minutes."
Agenda: Addressing a potential, extremely serious external security risk.
The door to Conference Room One closed silently after Lynn took her seat.
The atmosphere was somber around the long conference table.
Gwen Stacy sat to his left, the tactical tablet in front of her lit up, displaying a blank meeting minutes template.
Wanda sat opposite Gwen Stacy, her eyes slightly closed, Scarlet energy flickering at her fingertips, clearly connecting in real time to the Technology Division's database and processing massive amounts of frontline data.
Hela sat at the other end of the long table, her hands clasped on the table, her eyes as cold as the ice in her underworld. She didn't care about the data or the program; she only cared about one thing: where was the target, and could it be hit?
Jean Grey sat beside Wanda, her brows slightly furrowed. Her Psychic Power had already quietly spread out, calming the entire Negative Zone's lower-level community, which was slightly agitated due to the highest alert.
In the corner, Sylvie sat quietly in the row, arms crossed, like a true outside advisor, listening but not speaking.
"Everyone has learned about the situation through internal notifications."
Lynn spoke, breaking the silence. His voice was as steady as ever.
"Something mysterious has appeared at our doorstep. The Technology Division can't give a specific description of it, but they can confirm that it's dangerous."
He paused, his gaze sweeping over everyone present.
I'd like to hear everyone's opinions.
Hela was the first to speak, and her words were concise and to the point.
"It has been classified as an intrusion; the Stability Maintenance Office is authorized to eliminate it on the spot."
Her voice carried a barely suppressed murderous intent. She always dealt with threats delivered to her doorstep in only one way.
I object.
Wanda opened her eyes, and countless Data Stream flashed past in her Scarlet pupils.
"I have just completed the initial analysis of the target's energy model. It is not a stable structure, but more like a... hungry, unconscious energy aggregate. Any high-intensity external attack could cause its structure to collapse, triggering an uncontrollable energy leak, the consequences of which would be equivalent to detonating an unpredictable bomb on the border of our territory."
"You mean, we can only watch?" Hela frowned.
"What I mean is, conventional 'purge' methods are too risky until we figure out how it works," Wanda responded calmly.
The air in the meeting room instantly became tense.
Gwen Stacy then looked up and adjusted her glasses.
"From a legal perspective, Director Hela's proposal also carries risks."
Her voice wasn't loud, but every word she uttered hit the mark.
"This 'thing' has no official identity. Once we launch an attack, TVA can easily define it as ' Negative Zone proactive attack on an unidentified third-party entity, causing regional security instability,' thereby gaining a pretext for intervention."
"At that point, they will no longer be Adjudicators, but legitimate peacekeeping forces."
Gwen Stacy's words caused Hela's murderous intent to diminish somewhat. Although she admired strength, she also understood that falling into the opponent's trap of rules would be more troublesome than a direct confrontation.
"What should we do then?" Jean Grey asked, her voice tinged with worry. "According to the latest trajectory prediction from the Technology Division, although it's drifting, the overall trend is towards us. We can't keep waiting."
Silence fell over the meeting room once again.
Fighting carries risks.
If we don't fight, the threat is right in front of us.
This seems to have become a dead end.
Lynn remained silent, listening attentively until everyone had finished expressing their opinions, at which point he slowly leaned back in his chair.
"Your concerns are all valid."
He spoke, bringing this small-scale debate to a close.
"Comrade Hela is considering efficiency, Comrade Wanda is considering technological risks, Comrade Gwen Stacy is considering procedural justice, and Comrade Jean is considering overall stability. They are all correct."
He abruptly changed the subject.
But we all seem to have overlooked a very basic fact.
All eyes were on him.
"This thing has no identification, no beacon, and no entry declaration."
Lynn spoke in a flat tone, as if he were stating a trivial matter.
"Therefore, it is neither an enemy, nor an asset, nor a third party requiring peacekeeping."
He extended a finger and tapped it lightly on the table.
"From the moment we discovered it, its nature was defined according to Article 7, Paragraph 3 of the Negative Zone Special Administrative Region Border Management Ordinance."
Lynn raised her eyes and looked at Gwen Stacy.
"It is an 'ownerless, highly dangerous, illegally crossing living organism'."
This convoluted and bureaucratic definition left everyone present momentarily stunned.
Hela frowned, seemingly trying to understand the difference between "living beings" and "enemies".
In Wanda's eyes, the Data Stream stopped rolling, replaced by a sense of understanding.
Gwen Stacy's eyes lit up instantly.
She understood.
Lynn's move completely undermined the issue, stripping it of all its political and military attributes.
It is no longer a conspiracy, no longer an attack.
It was just one case... customs seized a dangerous invasive species.
The logic for handling this matter will no longer be the law of war or the law of diplomacy, but will instead become the internal "Ecological Security Law" and "Quarantine Regulations".
The initiative was instantly regained.
"I understand." Gwen Stacy's fingers flew across the tablet, and a new document title was immediately drafted. "I'll have the Liaison Office draft a contingency Contingency Plan for this 'illegal border crossing incident' right away."
"It's not Contingency Plan," Lynn corrected her.
"This is Red-Headed Document formally initiating the Level One Emergency Response for Ecological Environment and Biosafety in the Special Zone."
Lynn continued his deployment.
"Copies of the document were sent to the Stability Maintenance Office, the Department of Technology, and the Management Committee Office. Simultaneously, a 'Situation Report' was sent to the Multiverse Coordination Bureau and TVA in the name of the Liaison Office."
The notification stated that a serious biosafety incident had been discovered and was being handled in accordance with regulations. It also reminded all parties to avoid approaching the area unless absolutely necessary, to prevent any unnecessary accidents.
These words left Sylvie somewhat bewildered.
She looked at Lynn, this man, who was using a set of bureaucratic rhetoric she knew all too well to casually repackage a horrific disaster that could consume time as an environmental event that needed to be "decontaminated."
TVA's Originalist Faction are trying to overturn things with underhanded tactics.
Lynn, on the other hand, simply moved the table into his office and told everyone that he was in charge of it.
"Yes, Director." Gwen Stacy accepted the order and immediately began drafting the document.
"Department of Technology," Lynn turned to Wanda, "Continue monitoring, focusing on analyzing its behavioral patterns, to provide technical support for the next step of 'containment' or 'decontamination'."
"Received." Wanda nodded.
"Stability Maintenance Office," Lynn, turning to Hela one last time, "The troops are on high alert, and the relevant airspace is sealed off. Before the official disposition order is issued, no unit is permitted to make contact with the target."
Hela did not object this time.
Because she understood. Lynn wasn't forbidding her from fighting, but rather wanted her to have a legitimate reason to fight, to fight in a "compliant" manner.
Just as Lynn finished his deployment and was about to adjourn the meeting, the main control screen in Conference Room One was suddenly interrupted by a red alert of the highest priority.
The voice of the head of the Technology Division, tinged with barely suppressed shock, echoed throughout the conference room.
"Reporting to the Director! The target entity... has stopped its erratic drifting!"
"It... it has locked our coordinates!"
"Charging straight towards the White Bone Hall at top speed!"
