S.H.I.E.L.D.'s sharpest blade turned against it
The cold-toned operating lights in the medical room shone on their faces, making them appear deathly pale and glaring.
The gun barrel was pressed firmly against Nick Fury's forehead, its icy heat seeping into his bones. The king of spies, who controlled the world's largest intelligence organization, was now covered in a fine layer of cold sweat.
It wasn't out of fear of death, but because of Natasha's eyes.
Those once absolutely calm and devoid of any superfluous emotion, deep blue eyes now surged with an extremely twisted possessiveness and murderous intent. This was not the look of a secret agent; it was the gaze of a mother wolf protecting her cubs, a mad beast ready to tear apart any threat at any moment.
"Natasha, put the gun down." Fury narrowed his remaining eye, his voice low. "You're being mind-controlled by that man. Your heart rate, your micro-expressions, are all off-target."
"Mind control?" Natasha's lips curled into a mocking smile.
The image of the man who was blown to pieces in the rainy night in Budapest, the man who shielded her from all the bullets with his body, haunted her mind. The excruciating pain made every breath she took now a sharp, agonizing pain.
"If that's control..." Natasha's grip on the gun was as steady as a rock, the muzzle even leaving a dent between Fury's eyebrows, "Then I'm willing. Fury, listen carefully to every word I'm about to say."
Fury didn't move. He was quickly assessing the chances of successfully disarming her. Zero. Black Widow's melee abilities, combined with her current berserk state, meant that if he moved even a finger, her head would be blown to bits.
"Rescind the erasure order against Lynn." Natasha's voice was flat and cold, like the Siberia ice field. "Destroy all biometric data about him on S.H.I.E.L.D. servers. Change his threat level from ' Zero Number Taboo ' to 'Untouchable'."
"That's impossible," Fury refused flatly. "He's an extremely dangerous variable. He can control Wanda, and now he can control you. S.H.I.E.L.D.. cannot allow this to continue..."
"Bang!"
Deafening gunshots rang out in the cramped medical room.
The bullet grazed Fury's left ear, blasting the main control server behind him. Sparks flew, and the smell of burnt electronic components filled the air instantly. Fury's eardrums rang, and a trickle of blood dripped from his earlobe.
"I'm not negotiating with you, Director." Natasha tilted her head slightly, the gun pointed at Fury's forehead again, her tone chillingly gentle. "I'm informing you. If you don't do as I say, I'll kill you right now, then go to the Mainframe room and manually format you. Anyone who tries to stop me, I'll kill them."
Fury stared intently at the woman before him. He finally realized that S.H.I.E.L.D..'s sharpest blade had been completely broken. No, it had been reforged by that man named Lynn into a shadow blade that belonged only to him.
"Fine." Fury slowly raised his hands, making a gesture of compromise. "I will rescind the order. But you must understand, Romanoff, you are going against the entire world."
"My world consists of only him."
Natasha coldly uttered those words. She abruptly turned her gun and fired three shots, destroying the three hidden cameras in the medical room. Then, without even glancing at Fury, she walked barefoot across the shards of glass, like a true ghost, and swiftly disappeared into the dark passageway outside the door.
Fury stood amidst the chaos, touching the bloodstains on his earlobe. He strode to another backup terminal and entered a complex password of over a dozen digits.
The screen lit up. Instead of dispatching agents to hunt down Natasha, he directly opened an encrypted communication channel marked with the Highest Access Privileges.
"This is Fury," he said in a deep voice into the microphone. "The plan has changed. That agent named Lynn not only possesses some kind of Dimension mind-altering ability, but he has also turned Romanoff against us. Conventional force is no longer effective."
A rapid series of keystrokes came from the other end of the Communicator, followed by an arrogant and casual male voice. "Hey, One-Eyed Man. I told you your little guns-wielding agents couldn't handle this kind of supernatural phenomenon. Send me his energy band; I can't wait to dissect this 'heartthrob' who's charmed Witch and Spider-Girl."
"Stark." Fury's single eye flashed with a cold light. "Don't underestimate him. He's a complete monster."
Bomb-proof Safe House in the Eden Manor, Outskirts of New York.
The air here was so stuffy it was hard to breathe. Not because the ventilation system was broken, but because two extremely terrifying energy fields were frantically squeezing into this space of only a few dozen square meters.
Lynn leaned against the medical bed, her face pale, her chest wrapped in bandages.
To the left of the bed, Wanda sat in a chair. Wisps of Scarlet Chaos Particles swirled around her fingertips as she carefully manipulated a glass of water, trying to bring it to Lynn's lips. Her eyes never left Lynn's face for a second; her morbid longing was almost overflowing.
On the right side of the bed, Gwen Stacy, dressed in her Ghost-Spider Suit, hadn't even removed her mask. She held a sharp Scalpel in her hand, peeling an apple. Red peel dripped continuously as her Spider-Sense radar was fully activated, locked onto Wanda across from her. If that red light dared to move even slightly, she would absolutely not hesitate to plunge the Scalpel into the Witch's neck.
"The water temperature is just right, have some." Wanda's voice was so gentle it could melt hearts.
"The apple's peeled, here'll give you some vitamins." Gwen Stacy coldly handed over the sliced apple, casually bumping Wanda's water glass, which was hanging in mid-air, aside with her shoulder.
"You're asking for death!" Scarlet flashed in Wanda's eyes, and several Chaos tentacles instantly formed behind her.
"Come on, you old woman!" Gwen Stacy gripped the launcher with her backhand, her muscles beneath her suit instantly tensing.
"Cough cough... cough cough cough!"
Lynn burst into a violent cough at just the right moment, clutching her chest and furrowing her brows in pain.
The two murderous auras that were about to collide instantly vanished.
"Don't get angry! I'll just ignore her!" Wanda hurriedly dispelled her magic and reached out to touch Lynn's chest.
"Don't touch him! You have static electricity on your hands!" Gwen Stacy slapped Wanda's hand away, then leaned over to help Lynn catch his breath.
Lynn weakly waved his hand, indicating that he was alright. He closed his eyes, concealing the hint of mocking control in them.
The extreme balance has worked perfectly so far. The two women check and balance each other, neither daring to actually make a move, thus becoming his two strongest lines of Defense Line.
Just then, the System Panel deep within Lynn's mind suddenly lit up.
[Ding! Target: Natasha Romanoff.]
[Current Status: Shadow Yandere Awakening (Loyalty Absolutely Locked)]
[The target has escaped S.H.I.E.L.D.. control; potential physical threats are being eliminated.]
Lynn chuckled inwardly. He had finally won the Black Widow card. With Natasha providing intelligence and counter-surveillance in the shadows, the Hydra remnants and S.H.I.E.L.D..'s petty tricks would become completely transparent to him.
Suddenly, the special tactical watch that Lynn had taken from S.H.I.E.L.D.. on his wrist vibrated very slightly three times.
This is the highest level of one-way encrypted frequency band used by the Red Room.
Lynn subtly pressed the receiver button while turning over. Natasha's hoarse voice, tinged with suppressed gasps, was transmitted directly to Lynn's eardrums via bone conduction.
"Lynn, it's me."
Natasha's voice held a suffocating fervor, a stark contrast to her usual coldness. "I've crippled Fury's surveillance network. Your physical coordinates within S.H.I.E.L.D. have been completely erased. Nobody will ever find you again."
"Well done, Nata," Lynn mumbled in a very low voice, feigning a painful groan.
Wanda and Gwen Stacy immediately moved closer nervously to the bedside.
"But..." Natasha's speech suddenly quickened, tinged with a rare hint of anxiety, "Fury activated the backup plan for the Avengers Protocol. He sent the residual Chaos Energy band from when you erupted at the manor to Tony Stark."
Lynn's pupils suddenly contracted beneath his eyelids.
Tony Stark? The genius cursed by knowledge?
"Stark used JARVIS to reverse-engineer the energy wave pattern and pinpointed the underground blast-proof layer where you are." Natasha gritted her teeth, the sound of howling wind in the background indicating she was moving at high speed. "Lynn, run! He's got ' Anti-Magic Armor ' specifically developed for Higher-Dimensional Energy, and he's already above you!"
Lynn suddenly opened his eyes.
Before he could even remind Wanda and Gwen Stacy, a blinding dark red ring suddenly lit up on the three-meter-thick Special Alloy explosion-proof ceiling above their heads.
"Hiss hiss hiss--"
The extremely piercing sound of metal melting instantly shattered the tranquility of the Safe House. Laser Cutter at several thousand degrees Celsius sliced through the defensive layer, strong enough to withstand a nuclear explosion, as easily as cutting tofu.
Wanda and Gwen Stacy looked up at the same time, their gazes shifting in half a second from jealous hostility to absolute killing intent in the face of an enemy.
"Boom!"
The massive alloy disc, severed from its original shape, crashed down with a deafening roar.
The blinding exhaust flames of the thrusters illuminated the entire basement. A heavy mech, painted in dark gold and deep red and a full size larger than a regular Iron Man Armor, landed with an unparalleled sense of oppression three meters in front of Lynn's hospital bed.
The mech's visor popped open, revealing Tony Stark's face with a cynical smile.
His gaze swept over Wanda, who was enveloped in Chaos Magic, then glanced at the Ghost-Spider in an attack stance, and finally fixed on Lynn was leaning against the bed.
"Wow, look who this is." Tony raised an eyebrow, his tone full of mockery. "A sick agent being protected by two supergirls. Kid, what kind of spell did you cast on them?"
Lynn looked at Iron Man in front of him without saying a word, but silently issued the instructions in his mind.
"System, target locked: Tony Stark."
[Ding! Target does not meet the prerequisites for 'Female Hero', unable to start the Till Death Do Us Part simulation.]
Lynn's lips twitched slightly.
Damn, I forgot about that. If we can't simulate it, then we'll just have to fight it head-on.
Tony closed his mask again, and the Arc Pulse Cannon in the palm of the mech instantly lit up with a blinding White Light, locking onto Lynn's head.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.. says you're an extremely dangerous mind controller." Tony's voice, cold and metallic, came through the electronic megaphone. "So, to prevent you from hacking into my brain, I've decided to knock you out and take you away. Ladies, make way."
The high-frequency humming sound emitted by the Arc Pulse Cannon reached its peak.
However, Tony never had a chance to pull the trigger.
Who do you think you are...?
Wanda's voice was squeezed out from the depths of her throat, like a curse from the Abyss. She slowly floated into the air, her eyes completely consumed by Scarlet, and the violent Chaos Magic instantly distorted the gravity of the entire basement to its extreme.
"You dare point a gun at him?"
