A conversation at a distance, stripping the Director of his power
One hundred and fifty meters underground in the Alps, Top Secret nuclear-proof bunker.
The computer screen, instead of going dark after being unplugged, emitted an even more blinding Scarlet light. The light seemed like a viscous liquid, flowing along the edges of the screen, illuminating the entire dimly lit bunker as if it were a slaughterhouse.
"This is impossible..." Nick Fury stared intently at the red progress bar that had reached its maximum, his single remaining eye filled with spiderweb-like blood vessels.
Physical power outages are the most absolute means of network isolation in human understanding. But the garbled blue text flashing on the screen is mockingly shattering the common sense that this king of spies has built up over half a century.
"Sir, don't use Earth's physics to judge what I have." Lynn's voice came from the speaker, slightly languid and hoarse. Accompanied by the crisp sound of ice cubes hitting a glass, the voice echoed in the deathly silent bunker, carrying a suffocating sense of oppression. "What you're seeing now is the reorganization of the Source Code after Dimension folding. Even if you smash this computer to dust, as long as it remains within the coordinate system of this universe, I can make it speak."
Fury's Adam's apple bobbed with difficulty. He braced his hands on the table, his rough palms trembling slightly from the excessive force, his nails scraping harshly against the metal surface.
He lost. He lost completely.
Not only was Captain Marvel's calling frequency tampered with, but even the last backup network she used to contact the remaining agents around the world became Lynn's plaything.
"Lynn, what exactly do you want?" Fury took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down, his voice hoarse as if sanded on sandpaper. "You've taken Hydra's assets, Stark has become your henchman, and Natasha has gone mad. You've got everything you could want. Pressuring me now won't do you any good."
"Benefits?" In the underground Main Control Room of Eden, on the Outskirts of New York, Lynn leaned back in a large leather chair, his legs crossed and propped up on the console. He took a sip of Bourbon Whiskey, the cold liquid sliding down his throat, keeping his mind perfectly clear.
On the Holographic Projection platform, a dark blue Earth model is slowly rotating. The densely packed dots of light on it represent the distribution of dark forces around the world.
"Sir, you seem to have misunderstood something." Lynn put down his wine glass, his long, slender fingers tapping lightly on the keyboard. "I'm not negotiating with you, I'm issuing a command. I need S.H.I.E.L.D..'s ' Black Box ' master key."
Upon hearing this, Fury, far away in the Alps, suddenly raised his head, his single eye flashing with extreme horror.
The "Black Box" protocol was established by Howard Stark and Peggy Carter at the inception of S.H.I.E.L.D.., granting ultimate authority. It does not rely on any existing electronic networks but directly controls the self-destruct programs and ultimate access to 127 Abyss-class Armories worldwide.
"You're dreaming!" Fury refused without hesitation, his tone fierce with the desperate struggle of a cornered beast. "Even if I take that code to my grave, I would never give it to a madman like you!"
"Is that so?" Lynn chuckled, his fingers gliding casually across the keyboard. "Sir, do you think that as long as you don't say anything, I can't do anything to you?"
Lynn cleared her throat, her tone as flat as if she were reading a lunch menu.
"Deep in the Sahara Desert, in Containment Facility Zero, codenamed ' Oasis.' It holds three Inhumans capable of triggering localized earthquakes. The security code is your retinal reflection combined with a randomized version of the current date."
"Two thousand meters below the surface of the Iceland sea, there's a prison codenamed ' Cold Storage.' Inside are four failed attempts at becoming Super-Soldiers from the last century. The activation command is a Russian nursery rhyme at a specific frequency."
"And this chair you're sitting in right now." Lynn's speech suddenly slowed, each word like a heavy hammer blow, "There's a miniature high-explosive bomb hidden under the chair, meant for you to use in Extremis situation to take the enemy down with you. The bomb's fuse is connected to your heart rate monitor. If your heart stops beating, the bunker will be blown to smithereens."
Fury's blood froze completely at that moment. Large beads of cold sweat rolled down his forehead, splattering onto the metal table and shattering into pieces.
His prized trump card, his deepest secret, was laid bare before this man like an exhibit in a glass case, laid bare for all to see!
"You... who exactly are you..." Fury's voice completely lost its strength, filled only with deep fear.
"I told you, I'm just a low-level agent trying to survive." Lynn watched the wavy line representing Fury's heart rate on the Holographic Screens begin to fluctuate wildly, a cold smile playing on his lips. "Now, hand over the master key to the ' Black Box.' My patience is running out."
"What if I don't pay?" Fury gritted his teeth, trying to make a final stand.
Lynn didn't answer immediately. He turned his head and glanced at the screen in the control Main Control Room.
In the scene, Wanda and Natasha are still asleep in the two most distant special care isolation wards. But the air around Wanda is being strangely distorted, and wisps of Scarlet Chaos Energy, like living tentacles, are spreading outwards along the gaps in the isolation wards.
She was dreaming. In her dream, it seemed someone was trying to take Lynn away.
Lynn looked away and said casually into the microphone, "Sir, you know Wanda's been sleeping poorly lately. Once she gets grumpy in the morning, I might not be able to stop her."
On the other end of the phone, Fury's breath hitched.
"The scenery in the Alps is beautiful." Lynn toyed with the lighter in his hand, the metal casing making a crisp clicking sound. "Guess what, if I told her that there's an old fox lurking beneath that mountain, ready to kill me at any moment, she would knead a 150-meter-thick layer of rock and radiation-shielding lead plates, along with your chair with the bomb, into a metal ball in seconds?"
Threat. A blatant and Dimensionality-Reduction Strike.
Fury closed his eyes. The terrifying image of the Witch tearing apart the Hydra metal dome with her bare hands on the Siberian Ice Fields flashed through his mind.
Faced with absolute Deity power, all his espionage skills became a complete joke.
"Winner takes all. Lynn, you're ruthless." Fury opened his eyes, all the light in his single eye completely dimmed.
He slowly extended his trembling hand and typed a complex password of seventy-two characters on the keyboard on the table, which was bathed in red light. Then he pointed his right eye at the hidden camera above the screen.
"Drop--"
Main Control Room of Eden's underground, the Holographic Globe suddenly burst forth with a dazzling golden light.
The hundreds of blue dots that originally represented the Remnants of S.H.I.E.L.D.. instantly transformed into the Dark Gold that represented Lynn. The coordinates of the Abyss-class Armories, the list of undercover agents around the world, and even the Covert Operatives financial flows of the World Security Council all poured into Lynn's server.
"Pleasure doing business with you, Director Fury. Oh no, I should call you former Director now." Lynn pressed Enter, imprinting all the data with the hidden code of TVA, locking it completely.
"Snap." Communication was cut off. The screen inside the bunker returned to its deathly black.
Fury slumped into the chair, looking as if he had aged ten years in an instant. He was like a fish that had been drained of all its water, panting heavily.
S.H.I.E.L.D.., the behemoth to which he poured his life's blood, has changed hands completely today.
But he didn't break down.
An old coin is an old coin because it always leaves a nail in the coffin lid.
Fury waited a full ten minutes, confirming that there were no unusual electromagnetic fluctuations around him, before slowly standing up. He didn't head towards the door, but instead turned and walked towards a load-bearing wall at the deepest part of the bunker.
He drew the dagger from his waist and pried open an inconspicuous brick in the corner of the wall.
Behind the stone bricks was a purely mechanical rotary safe without any electronic components.
Fury turned the gears, and with a dull metallic click, the safe popped open. Inside were no gold bars, no USB drive, only a yellowed paper file and an old-fashioned physical telegraph with a red button.
The file cover features a striking black skull logo, below which is a line of large, handwritten text:
[Blind Spot Program: X-Gene Extreme Containment Subject Failure Protocol]
"You took the network, you took the weapons, you took the agents." Fury stroked the red physical button, a crazed killing intent flashing in his single eye. "But you don't know that in this world, there's a group of monsters who aren't controlled by any network, who only follow their killing instincts."
Without hesitation, he pressed the red button.
A unique infrasound wave traveled along physical conduits deep within the Earth's crust, spreading towards a secret island across the ocean.
At the same time, in the underground base of Eden, Outskirts of New York.
Lynn leaned back in his chair, looking at the Holographic Projection of his own Dark Empire, and stretched contentedly.
Hydra's wealth, S.H.I.E.L.D..'s resources, Stark's technology, plus those few Yandere heroes outside who can tear the universe apart.
He now finally has the means to truly survive in this crazy Marvel Universe.
Lynn picked up his glass, ready to down the rest of his whiskey in one gulp.
"Well..."
A muffled groan, extremely suppressed and filled with unbearable pain, suddenly came from the ventilation duct above.
Lynn's hand holding the wine glass suddenly froze. His Top-tier Spider-Sense triggered a sharp alarm in his mind, and a needle-like stinging sensation shot straight to his central nervous system.
"Bang!"
The metal grille of the ventilation duct was smashed open by a tremendous force. A white figure completely lost control and plummeted straight down from the ceiling, crashing heavily onto the holographic control panel in front of Lynn.
The glass shattered, and amber-colored liquor splattered all over the floor.
"Gwen Stacy?!" Lynn suddenly stood up.
Lying on the control panel was none other than Gwen Stacy Stacy, the Ghost-Spider.
But at this moment, Gwen Stacy's state was extremely bizarre. Her white battle suit was flashing at an extremely high frequency, frantically switching between white, semi-transparent, and some kind of pitch-black nothingness.
She clutched her head tightly, her body curled up in agony, and a dying, Beast howl escaped her throat.
Lynn grabbed her shoulder, and the instant he touched her, he felt as if he were holding onto an unstable Quantum Foam; Gwen Stacy's body was becoming ethereal!
"Lynn... save me..." Gwen Stacy struggled to lift her head, her eyes, visible beneath her mask, were bloodshot and even had bloodshot veins at the corners. She stared intently at Lynn, her eyes filled with a chilling obsession and despair.
My world... is rejecting me...
As soon as Gwen Stacy finished speaking, a Spatial Rift crackling with purple lightning tore open without warning in the void behind her. A violent force, belonging to another Parallel Universe, was trying to drag her into the Abyss!
