Peter Parker's identity file popped up on the holographic screen.
Name.
Age.
Genetic clearance.
Suit access records.
Temporary residency privileges at Avengers Tower.
Junior research assistant clearance for Stark's laboratory.
Access to certain hero-level crisis response channels.
And a string of special authorizations Tony had personally locked down.
Chen Mo moved closer to the screen, the rapidly scrolling data reflected in his eyes.
He had obtained Peter's DNA sample long ago.
A few days earlier, while the two Spider-Men were tumbling around together in the training room, a metal edge had cut Peter's arm. It was a small wound, and Peter himself hadn't thought anything of it. Chen Mo had handed him antiseptic cotton and bandages, then casually tossed the bloodstained medical waste into the recycling unit.
The recycling unit would clean it up, of course.
The problem was that, before cleaning it up, it would scan it for the medical records.
For that one second, Chen Mo had made the scan results linger in the cache for seven extra seconds.
Seven seconds had been enough.
Peter Parker's blood sample, skin residue, and genetic comparison results had all been broken into fragments and hidden among a pile of meaningless snack shopping lists, training record notes, and temporary Venom monitoring caches.
JARVIS had seen many things at the time.
He had seen Chen Mo eat three bags of chips.
Seen Chen Mo lie on the training room floor for ten minutes.
Seen Chen Mo put a bandage with a cartoon cat on Peter's wound.
He hadn't seen those seven seconds.
Because Chen Mo had made him look elsewhere in advance.
Now, those fragments came back together.
Peter Parker's identity verification opened.
Chen Mo pressed his fingertip into the biometric panel.
A green light flashed across the screen.
``` Identity confirmed.
