The Time Door closed.

Deadpool's body hit the ground first.

His headless body rolled twice across the flagstones and knocked over a wooden barrel. His head, which flew out right after it, had better luck, landing in a basket of freshly picked cabbages.

Chen Mo came out last.

His feet touched the ground, and he looked up to see Deadpool's head wedged between three cabbages.

"Not a bad landing this time," Deadpool said. "Vegetables, sunshine, and a beauty in a red-and-black bodysuit willing to carry me back to my body."

Chen Mo grabbed the webbing and dragged his body out of the barrel.

"You can move on your own, right?"

The headless body climbed off the ground, felt its shoulders, then groped ahead. Its aim was badly off, and it slapped a nearby horse on the rump.

The startled horse reared.

The headless body took a kick and flew right back into the barrel.

Deadpool's head lay in the vegetable basket and watched the whole thing.

"When the body and brain live apart for too long, a decline in coordination is perfectly normal."

Chen Mo walked over and picked him up by the top of his head.

"Where does this go?"

"On my neck. Please, even an open world has to respect basic character modeling."

Deadpool's body climbed out of the barrel again and reached toward the sound with both hands. Chen Mo pressed the head onto the severed neck and adjusted its position slightly.

"Like this?"

"My view's a little crooked."

Chen Mo twisted his head to the left.

"Too far."

Then back to the right.

"Yes, yes, right there. Hold it, darling. Your fingers are so gentle."

Chen Mo let go at once.

The head flopped backward, leaving his face pointing behind him.

"You did that on purpose."
