There was no ground on the other side of the time door.

Chen Mo stepped into empty air and fell between two skyscrapers.

City lights stretched from beneath his feet to the horizon. Billboards hung in midair, hundreds of flying cars traveled along aerial tracks, and the tallest building bore a massive Alchemax sign.

Deadpool fell out after him, still clutching the tavern's black bread.

"Welcome to the future." He took a bite. "Corporations here are bigger than the government, ads are bigger than corporations, and Spider-Man's pecs are bigger than the ads."

A red-and-blue figure dove from the building opposite them.

Webbed gliding wings spread beneath his arms, and his claws grazed Deadpool's hood, tearing off the entire piece of dark green fabric.

Deadpool tilted his head back to look at Spider-Man 2099.

"See? I mentioned pecs, but he showed off his claws first. Future people are more direct about expressing their feelings."

Chen Mo fired a web and snagged a flying car.

The car dragged them both across the traffic.

"Stop staring at his pecs and open another door!"

"You're holding the device. You're always ordering me around, honey. I know it's a sign of love, but the thing really is in your hands. I can't do it."

Chen Mo looked down and operated the TemPad.

Spider-Man 2099 had already caught up and landed on the roof. Just as he was about to question the two illegal interdimensional travelers, another orange time door lit up behind them.

Three TVA hunters charged out.

The leading time stick struck the rear of the flying car.

The entire rear section vanished instantly.

The car lost its balance and plunged toward the lower tracks, taking the four people on its roof with it.

"Okay, so how did they get here so fast?"
