Spider-Sense gave Chen Mo the answer in an instant.

The two bombs were not on independent timers. They were linked through pressure sensors inside the wall.

If he pulled the hostages free directly, the chairs would explode.

If he attacked Joker, the corridor traps would activate.

If he dismantled the screens, the main controller would switch routes.

But there were cables behind the wall!

Super spider intelligence tells me it's time for super spider strength.

Chen Mo punched through the wall panel and plunged his arm into the wiring. Electricity instantly crawled over his suit.

Pain shot from his fingertips to his shoulder. He gritted his teeth and fired webbing from his other hand, binding the exposed cables into a bundle.

"Bat!"

Batman immediately threw three small jammers, embedding them beneath the two chairs and in the floor track.

Blue arcs flickered, and the chairs' spikes retracted half an inch.

Chen Mo seized the chance to fire webbing around the two hostages' waists and yank them bodily out of the chairs.

The bombs' red lights flashed wildly.

Joker applauded.

"Oh, such beautiful teamwork. Have you considered debuting as a duo? I could be your director."

Still hopelessly determined to make this a three-way relationship.

Batman lunged toward the bombs and removed both casings at once.

Chen Mo swung the two hostages behind him and shielded them with his body.

The young man was already trembling from the projections, while the woman in the employee uniform kept staring at a recording.

The recording seemed to show her being berated by a manager backstage at the amusement park, her head lowered as she signed a pay-deduction form.

I want to live, but also kind of don't.

Whatever. Without insurance, dying won't get me any money either. Might as well muddle through.
