When Qin Yan followed her Younger Uncle back, Old Master Fu was in the middle of a "fierce battle" with his friends.
Old Xie: What's the use of only taking pictures of the cake? Show us the person!
Old Shen: Exactly. You've been going on about your granddaughter all this time. At least let us see what she looks like.
Old Master Fu huffed. "What do you know? My granddaughter has only just gotten healthy."
He hadn't wanted to show those old fellows how skinny she'd been before.
He sent a photo he'd just taken of the little one going to find her uncle, with a whole pack of animals following her.
But it was only a shot from behind.
The tiny girl wore a pretty pale pink dress, looking as though she'd stepped out of an animated world.
Old Fu: See? My granddaughter is very popular.
Old Song: Since when did you have so many cats and dogs?
Old Xie: What damn good is this? We still can't see her face.
Old Shen: Do you even know how to take pictures?
Old Master Fu took it all as jealousy.
"Grandpa."
Qin Yan came running over.
Old Master Fu's expression instantly changed, and he beamed like a two-hundred-pound fat man.
Once home, Qin Yan immediately took Meimei and her Younger Uncle to find tools, ready to plant all the seeds.
"Plant the peach here."
Meimei ran into the flower bed in front of the main entrance and stamped its little feet.
"Rouge peach blossoms are really pretty, much prettier than these flowers."
The flowers in the bed were all expensive varieties, each one worth tens of thousands.
But to be fair, compared with spirit fruit blossoms, they really couldn't measure up.
And so those expensive flowers met with ruthless hands.
But Qin Yan was a kind baby. She dug the flowers up with their roots intact, planning to transplant them elsewhere.
Meimei plucked the prettiest peony blossom outright, its tiny body supporting the enormous flower.
Without a close look, one might have thought the peony had sprouted two skinny little legs.
Qin Yan helped hold it.
"Meimei, do you want a flower?"
Meimei planted one little paw on its chubby waist and pointed the other at Fu Nanshan.
"Cub's Younger Uncle, this flower is the prettiest. Put it in Cub's hair."
"Fresh flowers belong with pretty babies."
Fu Nanshan took the flower and looked it over.
It was a beautiful pale pink.
The peony blossom was large and luxuriant.
He nodded in agreement.
Then he tucked it into the back of Qin Yan's hair.
Qin Yan raised a little hand to touch it.
She shook her head a little. "Does it look nice?"
The pretty baby couldn't see it herself.
The man and the mouse nodded, as did Jinbao beside them.
The little butterfly even landed right on the flower on her head.
Qin Yan couldn't help smiling, the corners of her mouth lifting to reveal a sweet little dimple.
She was so fair that she seemed to glow in the sunlight, her eyes full of scattered starlight, pure, clear, and bright.
At the sight, Old Master Fu, not far away, raised his phone and snapped several photos.
Oh, his little granddaughter looked beautiful from every angle.
Unable to resist, he sent them to his friends' group chat to show off.
Old Fu: [Image]
Since he'd already sent one, he might as well send a few more.
And so the group chat was suddenly flooded with his photos.
Everyone else in the group: ...
He'd been so stingy about sending pictures earlier, and now he was sending so many at once.
What was he showing off for? As though they didn't have grandsons or granddaughters of their own.
But they still tapped the photos to look.
Then the beautiful baby in the pictures, who seemed to glow, held them utterly spellbound.
No, why did he get to have this?!!!
Old Song: This is the granddaughter your family found?
Old Song: I don't believe it!!!
Old Song: You old geezer, how could you possibly have such a wonderful granddaughter!
Old Song: Tell me the truth. Did you secretly learn photo editing, or use that AI thing to generate these pictures? Nobody could possibly look like this in real life!
Old Xie: Exactly. That's what I wanted to say too.
Old Shen: Old Fu, this isn't right. How could you fool your old pals like this?
Old Master Fu had thought he would see his old pals praising his granddaughter. Instead, every last one of them had absolutely no trust in their old friend. Nothing but doubts!
Wasted. All those years of friendship, wasted!
He rolled up his sleeves and began arguing his case.
Meanwhile, Qin Yan and her uncle had already started planting the spirit fruit seeds.
The flowers they had dug up would be planted elsewhere.
When they finished, a fine sheen of sweat covered Qin Yan's forehead.
But she didn't find it tiring at all. She enjoyed it instead.
"All done."
After planting the last flower, Qin Yan gently touched them, her eyes curving with her smile.
"Grow well, okay?"
"Ice cream, ice cream..."
On the way back, Qin Yan carried a little hoe over her shoulder, bouncing lightly along like a fluffy bunny, making her cheerful mood plain to see.
She was still murmuring about the tasty treat.
Affected by her, the animals behind her started bouncing along too.
Fu Nanshan remained expressionless.
Inside: Cute! ♡‿♡
Once inside, they topped up the animals' goat milk.
They had helped dig holes with their paws today too.
Qin Yan herself couldn't wait to find the butler and ask for today's ice cream.
The weather was getting hot now, and of course little children loved cold, sweet ice cream.
But for the sake of her health, the three-year-old baby could only have one ice cream every three days.
Qin Yan was very well-behaved. Although she craved it, she held back.
She just counted the days every day.
The butler took a small tub of ice cream from the refrigerator and handed it to her, along with a little spoon.
"Today's ice cream is vanilla."
Qin Yan's large, round eyes instantly curved into pretty little crescents.
Hugging her ice cream, she scampered happily over to her Younger Uncle.
"Younger Uncle, do you... want some?"
Qin Yan was a little reluctant to part with it, but she still prepared to share despite how much it pained her.
Fu Nanshan shook his head. "No need."
Qin Yan was a tiny bit happy, but only a tiny bit.
As she held her ice cream, preparing to share a little with Meimei, Jinbao, and the others, Fu Nanshan went into the kitchen and came back out.
He held an enormous serving of ice cream.
Qin Yan: (O?O)
She looked at his, then at her own tiny portion.
The three-year-old cub felt the malice this world directed at little children!
She wasn't very happy anymore.
The corners of Qin Yan's eyes drooped a little, and she instantly looked aggrieved.
Fu Nanshan noticed and tapped her lightly on the forehead.
"You're still little. You can't eat too much."
Qin Yan gave a somewhat dejected "Oh" and scooped a little spoonful into her mouth.
Instantly, she became happy again.
If she'd had a tail, it would have been wagging.
So yummy~
Meimei said, "Cub, give me some too."
"No, wait..."
Meimei ran over to Fu Nanshan. "Give this mouse a serving too, as big as yours!"
Cub already had so little. It couldn't take hers.
"Woof, woof!"
Give this dog a serving too, bigger than yours.
The little butterfly: All right, it seemed it couldn't eat any.
Fu Nanshan said, "No."
Meimei & Jinbao: Why not!
Fu Nanshan didn't speak. He simply showed them what he'd found on his phone.
#Can hamsters and dogs eat ice cream?#
Answer: No.
Meimei the hamster: ...
Jinbao the dog: ...
Meimei flew into a rage and planted its little feet on the phone.
"I'm a Treasure-Seeking Mouse, not a hamster!!!"
"I'm a mouse from the Cultivation Realm! I even gnaw spirit stones down directly, and you're telling me I can't eat this little bit of ice cream?!"
