The ANBU with a short sword on his back poked his head out of the treetops outside the Kaguya Clan compound. Watching flames soar into the sky on the other side of the compound and hearing the ceaseless cries of battle, he muttered inwardly.

The Kaguya Clan really does deserve its reputation as a major clan in the Shinobi World. They can even put up this fierce a fight against Lord Sakumo!

He removed the leaves covering his head and carefully checked himself for anything else that might make a sound.

A few flickers brought him beneath the crude perimeter wall. He crouched down and peered into the compound.

Hmm, not a soul. So quiet. The Kaguya Clan really is as hotheaded as the rumors say. I hope Lord Sakumo can hold out.

He vaulted into the compound, searching for cover to conceal himself while keeping a wary eye on his surroundings.

After thoroughly searching several houses, the ANBU finally couldn't resist complaining inwardly.

He cupped both hands around his mouth and softly whistled a code signal unique to the ANBU.

Several responses soon came, but every one reported finding nothing. With no other options, the ANBU could only continue searching toward the center of the compound.

After searching several more crude houses, the ANBU members tacitly gathered outside the largest house at the center of the compound.

"Nothing anywhere?"

"Does the Kaguya Clan not have children?"

"This one in front of us should be their clan head's house, right? Search it carefully!"

The ANBU members sensed the chakra fluctuations outside the compound.
