Before the sun had fully risen, Takahashi Yū had already been woken by a ninja dressed as an ANBU.
Outside his bedroom window, a black silhouette paced in frantic circles, knocking on the glass nonstop, but not a sound reached Takahashi Yū's bedroom.
Takahashi Yū covered his head with his blanket. Anyone coming to find him at this hour had to mean trouble!
Upstairs, Mizuki seemed to hear the ANBU's efforts. She pattered downstairs, opened Takahashi Yū's bedroom door, and yanked the blanket off his head.
"Yū!"
"Is this what the barrier around the house is supposed to be used for?"
"That man outside is about to lose his mind. It must be something important."
Holding Takahashi Yū's blanket, Mizuki looked at his languid figure and spoke in exasperation.
"Ugh..."
"It's precisely because it's important that it's such a pain!"
Takahashi Yū scratched his head and answered Mizuki, looking utterly unwilling to get out of bed.
Since she had already dragged him out of bed, Takahashi Yū could only get up and open his bedroom window. As though salvation had arrived, the ANBU outside hurried up to the window.
"Lord Takahashi! Lord Danzo wants you to come to the Laboratory. Lord Sakumo has sent word!"
"Now?" Takahashi Yū looked at the hazy sky. The sun hadn't even clocked in, and they were already rushing him to work?
"Yes! Lord Danzo seemed quite anxious!"
"All right..."
Takahashi Yū closed the window. Thanks to the Sealing Barrier Mizuki had set up, the outside noise was cut off the instant it shut.
What, do I owe these guys or something?
When he turned around, Mizuki had already spread the blanket neatly over the bed, looking as though there was no way she would let him climb back in.
Ugh...
