Arc 10Inside the Whale Lord

Yang Yong and the Survival Convoy crossed the living, dangerous Fog Island and entered the Whale Lord, where Chen Gen offered them refuge. Yang Yong discovered that Sea Demons were spreading inside the whale and learned that the newcomers might already be infected.

  • Yang Yong followed Cao Xianming’s route to the Warship, and the convoy reached Fog Island after escaping migrating Sea Eeries and a giant sea monster.
  • On Fog Island, the group lost its supplies and found that the Mist and island food suppressed their abilities, but Yang Yong’s Brown Blood Beads helped them resist.
  • Savages abducted the convoy’s women, and Yang Yong and the others fought them, destroyed their blood-powered altar, and avenged Zhuo Fujiao.
  • Cao Xianming led the survivors through the island’s caves as Yang Yong and Wang Ying fought the mutated wildmen until a Corpse Mass drove the island monster into the sea.
  • Cao Xianming directed the convoy into a colossal sea creature’s open maw, and the Whale Lord carried them to a refuge inside its body.
  • Chen Gen explained that the creature was the Whale Lord, once a whale he had befriended at South Sea Base, and warned the convoy to avoid its Inner Core and other dangers.
  • Yang Yong followed a man surnamed Liu outside during the second half of the night and saw him transform into a Sea Demon that called thousands more from the water.
  • Chen Gen told Yang Yong that eerie things had taken root inside the Whale Lord and that anyone who entered it might be infected and eventually transform into a monster.
Chapters 226–250 Vol. 3 Read

Ch. 226The Sea Eeries' migration

Yang Yong escaped a migrating swarm of Sea Eeries while the thunder eel fled after losing its tail. Aboard the Warship, a survivor’s scream drew a Sea Eerie close, and Wang Ying killed the woman to keep the others silent.

  • Yang Yong used the ghosts summoned by the Three-Yang God-Sealing Banner to buy time for the Pickup Truck to escape the Sea Eeries, but the Red-Clothed Female Ghost and the White-Clothed Love Letter Ghost were killed.
  • The Sea Eeries swarmed the thunder eel after its lightning failed, but it severed its tail and escaped into a deep-sea current.
  • Yang Yong followed Mang Dabiao’s contract mark and drove toward the Warship.
  • Cao Xianming ordered the Warship to drift in darkness and silence as it encountered migrating Sea Eeries, but a survivor from Sky Base screamed and attracted one to the hull.
  • Xiao Xuan covered the screaming woman’s mouth, and Wang Ying killed the woman with the Black Gold Bone Blade before she could make another sound.

Ch. 227Why insist on sticking to this route?

Cao Xianming explained that the Survival Convoy had to follow a narrow route between deadly deep-sea monster territories to reach a fog-shrouded island, the fleet’s only viable refuge. As the Warship found a landing beach crowded with battered, bloodstained vessels, Yang Yong fled one sea danger after another and contacted Mang Dabiao, regretting that he had left the fleet.

  • Du Weizhen challenged Cao Xianming about staying on a route beset by migrating Sea Eeries, and Cao showed the deadly territories on either side that made it the only passage.
  • Cao Xianming explained that fuel shortages left the unnamed island as the fleet’s only hope, though he could not determine why his data models pointed there.
  • The Warship circled the fog-shrouded island, found a small beach to land on, and discovered several battered vessels covered in bloodstains moored there.
  • Yang Yong escaped a colossal deep-sea monster and then encountered two giant sea snakes fighting, so he hid in a burrow on a tiny island.
  • Yang Yong contacted Mang Dabiao, described the dangers he had faced, and vowed not to travel alone again; Mang Dabiao relayed Cao Xianming’s instructions.

Ch. 228The "Can't Hold On to It" Label

Yang Yong rejoined the Warship as it reached the mist-shrouded Nameless Island, where Cao Xianming’s calculations revealed an uncertain route to survival and a nearby South Sea Base that might soon be destroyed. Cao Xianming gave Du Weizhen and Zhang Qiang the Warship in exchange for the Azure Dragon Team’s training methods, then told his remaining survivors to hide.

  • Yang Yong followed the transmitted route after hiding for three days and caught up with the Warship after two days of nonstop travel.
  • Cao Xianming gathered the Transcendents at the Nameless Island and admitted that he could not determine how to reach the projected route’s endpoint beneath the sea.
  • Du Weizhen asked to search for South Sea Base, and Cao Xianming’s calculations suggested it still existed but might soon be destroyed.
  • Cao Xianming agreed to let Du Weizhen and Zhang Qiang take the Warship in exchange for their Azure Dragon Team training methods.
  • Most survivors chose to go with Du Weizhen and Zhang Qiang, while Cao Xianming’s small group moved supplies ashore.
  • Cao Xianming told Yang Yong to have the remaining survivors find somewhere to hide.

Ch. 229What... what was that?

Cao Xianming revealed that a gigantic sea serpent was stalking the Warship, whose simulated Eerie aura had attracted it. He predicted that Du Weizhen and Zhang Qiang would die on their voyage to the South Sea Base, which might have fallen or become an Eerie-controlled zone, leaving the convoy to decide what to do on Fog Island.

  • Yang Yong and Cao Xianming hid as a mountain-sized sea serpent surfaced and followed the Warship toward the horizon.
  • Cao Xianming explained that the serpent had watched them for days and would likely attack the Warship, so they had to get away from it.
  • Yang Yong asked whether the South Sea Base existed, and Cao Xianming said he did not know but predicted Du Weizhen and Zhang Qiang would die on the trip.
  • Cao Xianming reasoned that the South Sea Base likely had immense Eerie power, and Yang Yong realized it might have fallen or become an uninhabited zone controlled by an Eerie.
  • Yang Yong asked what the convoy should do as the fog around Fog Island seemed to breathe and threaten them.

Ch. 230What was that sound?

Cao Xianming led the convoy onto a fog-shrouded island to escape a colossal sea monster. As they followed an abandoned concrete road through unnaturally silent woods, a rhythmic, snoring-like sound grew louder, but Cao insisted the island remained their only chance to survive.

  • Cao Xianming identified the fog-shrouded island as the convoy’s only chance of survival, and a giant monster rose from the sea behind them.
  • Wang Ying drove the convoy onto the island, escaping as the monster smashed the shore and then sank back underwater.
  • The convoy found a concrete road and drainage ditches on the supposedly deserted island, while Cao Xianming said he could not read anything about the place.
  • Yang Yong and the others drove deeper into thick fog, finding ordinary trees but no birds, insects, or other signs of life.
  • The convoy heard a growing rhythmic sound like distant thunder or snoring, and Cao Xianming reaffirmed that the island was their only way to survive.

Ch. 231Fuck! Who stole the meat I stashed away?

Yang Yong’s convoy discovered that all ordinary food and water had vanished on the island, while supplies in his magical storage remained safe. After Yang Yong and Wang Ying failed to find a way out, the survivors found sweet potatoes and a spring, offering them a chance to survive.

  • The convoy stopped at the island’s center, where everyone discovered that all stored food and water had disappeared without damaging their containers.
  • Yang Yong found that his supplies inside the Nine Nether Yuanchen White Bone Ring remained intact, but Cao Xianming warned him not to reveal their last reserves before they understood the island’s rules.
  • Mang Dabiao and Hu Xian'er sensed that the group was in grave danger, and Mang Dabiao said it felt as though they had been served up on an enemy’s dinner table.
  • Yang Yong and Wang Ying drove around the island for a day but repeatedly returned to the central clearing, unable to escape.
  • The survivors found a field of intact sweet potatoes and began eating them.
  • The survivors also discovered a spring, giving them access to water.

Ch. 232Then... How Do We Break Out?

The Transcendents discovered that the Island’s Mist and food and water interfered with their abilities, leading Cao Xianming to suspect the Island was weakening them so an entity could appear. Yang Yong recalled the Brown Blood Beads refined by the Ten-Thousand-Forged Primordial Furnace as a possible way to resist the Island’s energy.

  • Wang Ying and Yang Yong reported that the group kept returning to the same place and felt watched by an unseen presence that had taken their supplies.
  • Cao Xianming realized his data analysis stopped working after he touched the Mist, and the others tested their abilities.
  • Zheng Xiaofeng revealed that after eating a sweet potato and drinking spring water, he could no longer form his Iron Armor.
  • Cao Xianming concluded that the Mist hindered transcendent abilities and the Island’s food and water further obstructed them, possibly weakening everyone until an entity appeared.
  • Cao Xianming questioned why his calculations had identified landing on the Island as the convoy’s only path to survival and proposed that an entity might reveal itself only once the group became ordinary people.
  • Yang Yong remembered the Brown Blood Beads in his Nine Nether Abyss White Bone Ring and considered whether the Ten-Thousand-Forged Primordial Furnace’s refinement could protect them from the Island’s energy.

Ch. 233Just eat... I'm not afraid of you eating... I'm afraid you won't...

Yang Yong discovered that Brown Blood Beads restored sealed supernatural abilities temporarily, and Cao Xianming used one to learn that the island’s natives would appear as ordinary people after the group’s abilities were fully sealed. The convoy ate the island’s food while secretly preparing to restore their powers, but the natives did not attack during the first day or night.

  • Yang Yong tested a Brown Blood Bead and found that it remained unaffected by the island’s power, then Cao Xianming swallowed one and temporarily regained his data abilities.
  • Cao Xianming calculated that sealed abilities could be restored, the natives would appear after the group’s powers were fully sealed, and the natives had ordinary strength.
  • Yang Yong handed out the remaining Brown Blood Beads and urged the group to eat, while an unseen native watched the convoy and reported that they had accepted the food.
  • The convoy ate sweet potatoes and dessert soup while keeping the beads ready, and a native tribe replied to its watcher, “Keep watching.”
  • During the quiet first day and night, the group tested their remaining weapons and abilities; Yang Yong told Mang Dabiao and Hu Xian'er to act like pets and conceal their strength.

Ch. 234The raised platform

After the natives drugged the Survival Convoy and tied up its men, Yang Yong freed them and learned that all the women had been taken. He led the group toward the screams, where they found a raised platform and a scene that left them stunned.

  • On the third night, Xiao Liao smelled a cloying fragrance and passed out while keeping watch.
  • Yang Yong woke tied to a cross and discovered that all the men had been bound while the women were missing and their belongings had been taken.
  • Yang Yong used the Heavenly Dragon Slash to cut the men’s ropes and wake them with slaps from its throwing knives.
  • Xiao Li begged Yang Yong to save his sister, and Yang Yong gave Zheng Xiaofeng a Brown Blood Bead so he could transform into his iron-armored form.
  • Zheng Xiaofeng led the convoy toward the distant screams, and they reached a raised platform where the sight before them stunned everyone.

Ch. 235Quick! Destroy That Pattern on the Altar!!!

The Survival Convoy fought the savage priests and their warriors to rescue the captured women, but the savages gained seemingly impenetrable black armor and began overwhelming the group. Cao Xianming identified the altar’s pattern as the key and shouted for it to be destroyed.

  • The savages attacked the Survival Convoy as Zheng Xiaofeng, Xiao Li, and Yang Yong fought back, while Xiao Li tried to reach his captured sister.
  • Cao Xianming helped Xiao Li hold off the spear-wielding savages, and Yang Yong cut the women free and gave Brown Blood Beads to Wang Ying and Xiao Xuan.
  • Wang Ying wounded the savage chieftain, but eerie black light healed him and turned into armor that resisted Yang Yong’s flying knives.
  • The black light armored the other savages as well, and they began killing convoy members while the ordinary people fled.
  • Cao Xianming analyzed the battlefield with his Data Model and shouted for everyone to destroy the pattern on the altar.

Ch. 236Death by a Thousand Cuts

Yang Yong destroyed the Sacrificial Altar, rescued Xiao Li's younger sister, and recovered the weapons hidden in its pillars while the others fought the savages. Wang Ying dismembered the Savage Chief, but his unusual nature remained unexplained.

  • Yang Yong discovered Zhuo Fujiao's mutilated body and the blood-powered Sacrificial Altar, then attacked it with the Heavenly Dragon Slash.
  • Yang Yong broke through the altar's blood-red defense, pierced it, freed Xiao Li's younger sister, and pinned the five Savage Priests to the stone wall.
  • Yang Yong tortured the Savage Priests and recovered the Black Gold Bone Blade and Zheng Xiaofeng's Tortoiseshell Shield from stone pillars.
  • Zheng Xiaofeng caught his shield and charged into the savages, crushing them as Wang Ying pursued the Savage Chief with the Black Gold Bone Blade.
  • Wang Ying severed the Savage Chief's right hand, left hand, and right foot, but sensed something extraordinary about him.

Ch. 237Unable to rest in death

After the altar was destroyed, Yang Yong and the survivors defeated the savages and executed their priests. Yang Yong covered Zhuo Fujiao’s body and vowed to avenge her, then her eyes finally closed.

  • Wang Ying severed the Savage Chief’s last leg and killed him, while the survivors broke the savages’ ranks after Yang Yong destroyed the altar.
  • Yang Yong sent the Little Girl Eerie after the fleeing savages, then had the Red-Clothed Female Ghost devour the lead priest’s soul and tortured and killed the remaining priests.
  • Li Haijian begged Yang Yong for a Brown Blood Bead to save his dying sister, and Yang Yong killed the savages still moaning beneath the Sacrificial Altar.
  • Yang Yong and the survivors discovered Zhuo Fujiao’s mutilated body on the altar, and he covered her with clothing.
  • Yang Yong vowed to kill the savages on the Island and avenge Zhuo Fujiao, then brushed her eyes closed.

Ch. 238Where did you two run off to?

After Zhuo Fujiao was buried, Yang Yong used the White-Clothed Love Letter Ghost’s letter to locate the savages’ underground hideout, while Cao Xianming worked to decode its route. Yang Yong questioned Mang Dabiao and Hu Xian'er about their absence during the battle, and Hu Xian'er suspected the knockout scent came from a water-dwelling creature’s glandular secretion.

  • Lao Zhang presided over Zhuo Fujiao’s burial, and Yang Yong devoured the savages’ souls and corpses.
  • The White-Clothed Love Letter Ghost gave Yang Yong a letter recording the savages’ route to their underground hideout, and Cao Xianming began decoding it with Brown Blood Beads.
  • Yang Yong demanded to know why Mang Dabiao and Hu Xian'er had missed the battle; Mang Dabiao admitted he had stayed in a pot for a hot bath, while Hu Xian'er said she had been trapped inside her Dima’s Aperture.
  • Hu Xian'er explained that the sweet scent had made even her lose consciousness and said it smelled like a fishy secretion from a water-dwelling creature.
  • Yang Yong asked whether the scent might have come from something like a sperm whale.

Ch. 239In other words... this island was alive

Cao Xianming revealed that the island was a living Eerie and that the savages were apocalypse survivors who had degenerated after worshipping it. The group learned to wait for the savages at the island’s nostrils, then discovered the horrors left behind in the town they had abandoned.

  • Cao Xianming concluded that the savages had come to the island after the apocalypse and had degenerated by worshipping the island itself, which was alive.
  • Cao Xianming reasoned that the island likely had little offensive power and proposed sealing one of its nostrils to ambush the savages at the other.
  • Cao Xianming warned the group not to enter the island’s body, where they could be transformed into Eerie, and led them along a route through illusions.
  • The group reached a deserted town where Cao Xianming said the savages had fled in haste into underground caves.
  • The group saw human bones and mutilated corpses, and Wang Ying declared that the savages had become Eerie as everyone resolved to show them no mercy.

Ch. 240The happy days of monster hunting began

Yang Yong’s group opened the island’s caves, triggering violent tremors and fog before they hunted the mutated wildmen emerging from the second cave. After nine days, Cao Xianming had also found a way to make the island’s food and water safe, while Yang Yong asked when they would find a way off the island.

  • Wang Ying, Zheng Xiaofeng, and Yang Yong failed to break through the first cave wall, but Mang Dabiao sliced it open with his enormous blade, causing the island to shake and fill with fog.
  • Yang Yong led the group through the fog to the second cave, where Zheng Xiaofeng guarded the entrance until Cao Xianming told him to let the creatures out.
  • Three mutated wildmen emerged, and Wang Ying killed them while Yang Yong captured their souls and consumed their flesh and blood.
  • Wang Ying and the others guarded the cave for days, killing wildmen as they emerged less and less frequently.
  • Cao Xianming determined that food and water became safe to consume after hanging in the air for three hours, and Lao Zhang organized people to collect and air them.
  • After nine days, Yang Yong asked Cao Xianming whether his promised way out only meant eating sweet potatoes, and Cao Xianming said it led to a place with plentiful food and drink.

Ch. 241What do you think? Old Cao seems... a little unreliable this time

Cao Xianming detected an approaching variable just before an enormous Corpse Mass reached the Island and began assimilating everything it touched. The Island monster fled across the sea with the Survival Convoy on its back, while Wang Ying questioned whether Cao Xianming’s promised way out was real.

  • Cao Xianming announced that a variable was coming and warned the convoy that they had to stay alive until it arrived.
  • An enormous Corpse Mass reached the Island and began turning its soil, rocks, and vegetation into corpses.
  • The Island monster revealed its true form and fled across the sea, with the Corpse Mass pursuing it.
  • The Corpse Mass attacked a Sea Serpent, a giant octopus, and a Rotting Corpse Turtle, assimilating parts of them and driving them away.
  • The Survival Convoy clung to the Island monster as it fled, and Wang Ying asked Cao Xianming where their way out was while Yang Yong looked around blankly.

Ch. 242You want us to... enter that terrifying maw and walk straight into the trap?

The Survival Convoy was trapped with the island monster as four giant creatures closed in, but Cao Xianming revealed that their escape route was a colossal maw opening beneath the sea. After it swallowed the Corpse Mass, Cao Xianming ordered the convoy to enter the maw.

  • Giant sea monsters surrounded the island monster, leaving Yang Yong and the Survival Convoy with nowhere to flee.
  • Cao Xianming ordered Yang Yong to store all the vehicles, then counted down while the monsters closed in.
  • A colossal maw opened beneath the sea and swallowed the Corpse Mass as the other monsters tried to escape.
  • Cao Xianming pointed to the maw and told the stunned Survival Convoy that they had to go inside.

Ch. 243While they're still unconscious, stab them to death with harpoons!

The Survival Convoy escaped the giant monsters by plunging into the enormous creature’s mouth and was carried through darkness to a vast pool, where most survivors washed ashore and collapsed. A group of locals found them and, after learning outsiders had arrived, gathered with harpoons to attack them while they were unconscious.

  • Cao Xianming, Zheng Xiaofeng, Wang Ying, Xiao Xuan, Yang Yong, Mang Dabiao, and the rest of the Survival Convoy let go and were swept into the giant creature’s mouth; Li Haijian followed with his sister just before it closed.
  • The giant creature returned to the deep sea, and the sea serpent, flesh-like monster, octopus-headed monster, and island monster retreated to their territories.
  • Yang Yong and Mang Dabiao were flushed through a dark passage into a vast pool, swam to shore, and fell asleep from exhaustion.
  • The other convoy members plunged into the pool and were swept toward land; most passed out on the beach, while a few drowned before reaching shore.
  • A fisherman found the survivors and called for the Transcendent after Xiao Zhu ran inland to report that outsiders had arrived.
  • The locals gathered harpoons and headed for the beach, agreeing to kill the unconscious outsiders.

Ch. 244A gunshot!

Xiaoju led a burly man toward the shore, where fishermen mistook Yang Yong and his companions for monsters and tried to attack them. After Yang Yong's group revealed their strength, a gunshot interrupted the confrontation.

  • Xiaoju told the burly man that unconscious outsiders had appeared on the shore, and he grabbed a submachine gun and hurried after her.
  • A fisherman tried to stab Yang Yong, but the Little Girl Eerie slapped him and turned him into a doll.
  • The fishermen attacked the others, but Zheng Xiaofeng's body deflected a harpoon, and Cao Xianming got up and called for Yang Yong to wake.
  • Yang Yong's group stood and released a murderous aura, while Yang Yong summoned Heavenly Dragon Slash and aimed a throwing knife at one of the fishermen.
  • A gunshot rang out just as Yang Yong's knife was about to strike.

Ch. 245You Mean We're Inside a Living Eerie Right Now?

The Survival Convoy encountered Chen Gen, a Sequence Transcendent whose living gun had nearly sparked a fight before he recognized Zheng Xiaofeng as his childhood friend. Chen Gen revealed that they were on an island inside the belly of a whale Eerie, and the chapter ended with Yang Yong wondering why the island’s plants seemed unaffected by the Blood Moon’s aura.

  • Yang Yong and the convoy prepared to fight after Chen Gen aimed a gun grown from his flesh at him.
  • Chen Gen and Zheng Xiaofeng recognized each other, embraced, and introduced Chen Gen as Zheng Xiaofeng’s childhood friend.
  • Chen Gen told the stunned convoy that they were inside the Whale Lord, an enormous whale Eerie.
  • Chen Gen led Zheng Xiaofeng and the convoy toward the island’s center, while Cao Xianming said the area would be safe from Eerie attacks for three days.
  • Yang Yong tasted a familiar weed and wondered why the island seemed untouched by the Blood Moon’s aura.

Ch. 246The First Dual-Sequence User

Yang Yong and his companions learned that Chen Gen lived inside the Whale Lord and heard how the whale grew enormous after consuming a strange object and sea monsters. Chen Gen revealed that he had awakened both the mechanic and keeper Sequences and maintained the Whale Lord by removing impurities from it.

  • Cao Xianming tried to deduce the nature of the space, saw a terrifying eye in his mind, and collapsed from exhaustion, so Yang Yong had Xiao Ma carry him.
  • Chen Gen brought the group to his wooden home and introduced himself as a mechanic who specialized in firearms, showing them his Flesh-and-Blood Submachine Gun.
  • Chen Gen explained that the Whale Lord had once been a gentle little whale he befriended at South Sea Base, but experiments and its consumption of sea monsters made it grow enormously.
  • Chen Gen said the Whale Lord swallowed him during its attack on South Sea Base and brought him to the inner space instead of its digestive stomach.
  • Chen Gen revealed that the Whale Lord had grown huge after eating a strange object, and that he had awakened both the mechanic Sequence and the keeper Sequence.
  • Chen Gen explained that he entered a door behind the sun to remove the Whale Lord’s impurities, while its fish and shrimp sustained the people living inside it.

Ch. 247We Seem to Have Found a Temporary... Safe House

Yang Yong and the Survival Convoy arrived in Chen Gen’s refuge inside the Whale Lord, where food was scarce and the group learned the dangers of their shelter. The Whale Lord watched the newcomers with curiosity, leaving them in a tense, temporary safe haven.

  • Chen Gen explained that the refuge inside the Whale Lord was safe from the Eerie but had growing food shortages and mutated fish.
  • Yang Yong used his Nine Nether Yuanchen White Bone Ring to fill a house with sweet potatoes, and Chen Gen called Old Man Xia to try growing them.
  • Chen Gen warned the convoy not to approach the Inner Core, go outside in the second half of the night, or step on pulsing flesh-red ground.
  • Cao Xianming asked whether Chen Gen could communicate with the Whale Lord, and Chen Gen sensed that it was curious about the newcomers.
  • Cao Xianming called the refuge a temporary safe house, while Yang Yong saw what seemed to be a giant scarlet eye blink behind the Inner Core.

Ch. 248The Man Named Liu

Yang Yong followed a man surnamed Liu into the darkness after the island's residents warned the Survival Convoy not to go outside at night. He realized the island was inside a living whale, and the Three-Yang God-Sealing Banner in his hand grew red-hot.

  • The Survival Convoy settled on Chen Gen's island, where Yang Yong and Cao Xianming remained wary of Chen Gen's secrets and the food's strange energy.
  • Yang Yong and the convoy ate a plentiful dinner of sweet potatoes and fish, then were repeatedly warned not to go outside during the second half of the night.
  • Unable to sleep amid the island's unnatural silence, Yang Yong left his room to check on the convoy and heard a wet, squelching sound outside.
  • Yang Yong spotted a stiff-moving man surnamed Liu, followed him despite the warning, and noticed a briny smell like oysters.
  • As the man surnamed Liu walked into the darkness, Yang Yong felt himself being drawn upward and realized the island was inside a living whale.
  • Yang Yong hurried after the man surnamed Liu as the Three-Yang God-Sealing Banner in his hand grew hot as red-hot iron.

Ch. 249Someone Was Lying in Ambush Here!

Yang Yong followed the man surnamed Liu and watched him transform into a Sea Demon at the shore. Chen Gen stopped Yang Yong from attacking, and they witnessed thousands of Sea Demons emerge from the water.

  • Yang Yong followed the man surnamed Liu and discovered that his body was secreting sticky fluid filled with tiny, wriggling creatures.
  • Yang Yong watched the man shed his skin and grow gills, webbing, a shark fin, and scales as he transformed into a Sea Demon.
  • Chen Gen surprised Yang Yong, pulled him into a concealed pit, and signaled him to stay quiet and observe.
  • The transformed Sea Demon silently called toward the water, and thousands of Sea Demons emerged from the shore.

Ch. 250Why stab yourself?

Yang Yong and Chen Gen waited for the Sea Demons to leave, then Chen Gen explained how eerie parasites inside the Whale Lord could infect anyone who had entered his body and eventually turn them into monsters. Chen Gen stabbed his arm to check that he could still feel pain, leaving Yang Yong alarmed by the threat of infection.

  • Yang Yong watched the Sea Demons communicate, then saw them return to the water with the transformed man surnamed Liu.
  • After confirming the monsters had gone, Chen Gen asked Yang Yong why he had come out during the second half of the night.
  • Chen Gen explained that the Whale Lord could not expel what he could not absorb, so eerie things had accumulated inside him and taken root like parasites.
  • Chen Gen warned that anyone who had entered the Whale Lord's body might already be infected and could eventually transform into a monster.
  • Chen Gen stabbed his own arm to check whether he still felt pain, explaining that parasitized people lost their sense of pain during the second half of the night.
