Not long after Xu Wang entered his office, Sister Li and Yu Yuan knocked on the door.
"Come in." Xu Wang looked up toward the door.
"President Xu."
"President Xu."
"Sit." Xu Wang rose from his seat, walked over to a sofa, and sat down, gesturing for the two of them to take the sofa opposite him.
"Thank you, President Xu." The two sat down as instructed.
"How are the preparations coming along? Nervous?" Xu Wang's gaze finally settled on Yu Yuan.
"Almost everything is ready. The statement and music video will be released at 8:30 sharp," Sister Li answered with a broad smile.
"Yes, a little." Yu Yuan took a deep breath. In truth, he did not know whether he was nervous or excited, or perhaps both.
"Relax. You deserve all of this." Xu Wang waved a reassuring hand at Yu Yuan.
At Pei Corporation Group, the two young women at reception stood respectfully as soon as Pei Yanchuan entered the building.
"Good morning, President Pei!"
Pei Yanchuan gave them a slight nod, then strode into the elevator.
"Is it just me, or does the big boss seem to be in a really good mood today?" one receptionist asked doubtfully as she watched Pei Yanchuan's retreating figure.
"It's not just you. The big boss really is in a good mood today." The other receptionist nodded in agreement.
Pei Yanchuan knew nothing of the two employees' discussion after he left. He took the elevator to the top floor.
When the elevator opened, Assistant Yang was standing at the doors right on time.
"Good morning, President Pei."
"Morning." Pei Yanchuan's cool reply sounded like thunder in Assistant Yang's ears.
*Huh??? The boss said good morning to me? That's not right. Doesn't he usually dismiss me with a grunt or a nod?
