Pei Yanchuan’s mother died when he was young, after which his father married his mistress, Mu Tingting. Elder Pei noticed that something was wrong and took his grandson away to raise him personally. Designated as his grandfather’s successor early in life, Pei Yanchuan followed an almost completely full schedule of lessons. The couple’s elders introduced Pei Yanchuan and Xu Wang. Although he had previously devoted himself to the company and held few expectations about marriage, Xu Wang’s delighted greeting outside the marriage-registration office made his heart race. This relationship differs sharply from the original novel. In that version, Pei Yanchuan and the original owner of Xu Wang’s body lived apart, had no romantic attachment, and met only twice in total. The transmigrated Xu Wang instead openly pursues and protects him 1 94 124.

Affectionate and protective

Xu Wang brings out an unusually tender side of him. Pei Yanchuan smiles at his messages during business meetings, dries his hair, treats his injuries, and learns recipes to care for him. Xu Wang is also the first person before whom he permits himself to show weakness 7 30 54 92 182.

His protectiveness can become ruthless. He retaliates against people who threaten Xu Wang and is willing to use corporate acquisitions against hostile families. Although he enjoys being protected in return, he would rather remove the source of Xu Wang’s anxiety than let his husband remain tense or unhappy 4 72 184.

Pei Yanchuan becomes increasingly teasing and openly possessive as their relationship develops.
