After dinner, the two of them went to bed.

At seven the next morning, the sunlight was just right. In the bedroom, Xu Wang clung tightly to Pei Yanchuan like an octopus, with one leg draped over Pei Yanchuan's legs and one arm across his chest.

Thanks to the body clock he had maintained for years, Pei Yanchuan soon opened his eyes.

Pei Yanchuan looked down and saw Xu Wang still asleep.

Pei Yanchuan gently adjusted Xu Wang's position. Just as he got out of bed, Xu Wang suddenly sat up.

Xu Wang stretched. "You're up so early."

Pei Yanchuan turned to see his partner sitting cross-legged on the bed, his eyes a little dazed.

Pei Yanchuan walked over to Xu Wang. "If you're sleepy, get some more sleep."

"I'm okay. I'm not that sleepy. Maybe I slept too long yesterday." As Xu Wang looked at Pei Yanchuan in front of him, his gaze grew considerably clearer.

"Then let's get up together. I need to go to the office today. Since we'll be taking part in the variety show over the next few days, I need to make work arrangements in advance." Pei Yanchuan took Xu Wang's hand and went with him to the bathroom to wash up.

After washing up, they had a simple breakfast.

After they finished eating, Pei Yanchuan put their bowls, utensils, and cups into the dishwasher, then into the sterilizing cabinet.

Pei Yanchuan went to the entryway and changed into his leather shoes. "I'll head to the office, then."

"Okay. Oh, remember to buy some candy on your way." Xu Wang walked over to Pei Yanchuan and looped both arms around his neck.

Pei Yanchuan obligingly bent down, though a trace of puzzlement showed in his eyes. "Why?"

"Wedding candy. You can hand some out when you run into people you know." Xu Wang didn't know what the wedding procedures and customs were in this world, but back in his village, everyone handed out wedding candy when they got married.

"Wedding candy. All right, I understand." Pei Yanchuan carefully repeated the words. He roughly understood what wedding candy meant now.

"If you can, you could put it in boxes too. It'll look nicer and be easier to hand out that way." Xu Wang kissed Pei Yanchuan, then let go.

"All right. See you tonight, then. Call me anytime if anything comes up." Pei Yanchuan also placed a light kiss on Xu Wang's forehead.

"Okay. Take it slow on the road, and come home early."

"All right."

As the door closed, Xu Wang walked to the sunniest spot in the living room and took a deep breath. He spread his legs slightly and bent his knees, regulating his breathing as he moved through a standard Tai Chi routine. Xu Wang's stance was exceptionally steady; he could even hold the one-legged movements without the slightest wobble.

Meanwhile, Pei Yanchuan drove past a candy shop and stopped right away.

The candy shop's decor was pink and cute, inside and out.

Pei Yanchuan locked his car and went inside.

"Hello, are you buying candy for the children at home?" The shop owner greeted her customer enthusiastically.

"How much candy do you have in your shop?" Pei Yanchuan stood perfectly straight as his gaze swept across the candy shop. It didn't look very big. Thinking of how many people worked at his company, he felt one sweet shop might not be enough.

"Hm?" The owner was momentarily bewildered. How much candy do I have? Does this gentleman have a lot of children at home? But however many children he has, they couldn't possibly finish all the candy in my shop, could they?

"I need a lot of candy." Seemingly noticing the owner's doubt, Pei Yanchuan spoke again.

"About how much would you need, sir?" The owner picked up a small notepad nearby.

"Ten pieces per portion. I'll need about fifty thousand portions." Pei Yanchuan wasn't particularly sure of the exact number of employees at his company, so he could only give a rough figure.

The pen dropped straight out of the owner's hand. H-how many? Fifty thousand portions? Five hundred thousand pieces of candy?

The candy shop employees nearby were startled too. Five hundred thousand pieces!

"Can you take the order?" Pei Yanchuan looked at the owner as she picked up her pen.

"Y-yes." The owner took a deep breath. Only her shop could handle an order this big.

"Do you have any packaging boxes, then? I'd like each portion of candy packaged." Remembering Xu Wang's instructions, Pei Yanchuan spoke again.

"Of course. Sir, these are the different styles of packaging boxes we carry. Which would you like to use?" The owner led Pei Yanchuan to a shelf.

Pei Yanchuan looked at the boxes in front of him and finally chose a red one with a bow.

Pei Yanchuan paid on the spot and left the company's address, arranging with the owner to have the order delivered before five that afternoon. Then he left with a box of wedding candy an employee had just packed.

"Quick, quick! Get all the employees from the branches over to the main shop. We have a huge order today!" As soon as Pei Yanchuan left, the candy shop owner hurriedly began giving instructions.

By the time Pei Yanchuan arrived at the company, his assistant had already been waiting for quite a while.

"President Pei." Pei Yanchuan's assistant was an alpha surnamed Yang. Everyone called him Special Assistant Yang.

"Mm."

The two entered the private elevator and went straight to the top-floor office.

"President Pei, here's the information on that plot of land you asked me to investigate." Special Assistant Yang followed Pei Yanchuan into the office.

"All right." Pei Yanchuan took the documents from him and glanced at them.

"President Pei, you were right. Your father is still increasing his investment in that plot of land." Special Assistant Yang stood respectfully to one side as he spoke, a broad smile on his face. President Pei really is President Pei. Everything is under his control.

"That's only natural. After all, when a starving wolf finally spots a juicy piece of meat, how could it possibly resist swallowing the whole thing?" Pei Yanchuan's voice was icy, and the imposing presence of a top-tier alpha faintly radiated from him.

Special Assistant Yang quickly lowered his head. "Then, if there's nothing else, President Pei, I'll head out."

With that, Special Assistant Yang prepared to leave the office quietly.

Unlike usual, this time, before he could fully turn around, Pei Yanchuan suddenly stopped him.

"Is there anything else you need, President Pei?" Special Assistant Yang turned back in confusion.

Pei Yanchuan pushed the box he had just placed on his desk toward him.

Looking bewildered, Special Assistant Yang picked up the festive red box on the desk. "President Pei, what's this?"

Special Assistant Yang had actually been a little puzzled when he first saw the box downstairs. Was the boss planning to give someone a gift?

"Wedding candy." Pei Yanchuan looked up, his expression serious.

"Wedding candy?" Special Assistant Yang didn't catch on.

"Mm. I got married. This is your wedding candy. Of course, everyone in the company will get some, but the wedding candy won't arrive until five this afternoon. Take some people to receive the delivery then, and make sure all the wedding candy is handed out." With that, Pei Yanchuan turned his gaze back to his computer and began working.

"Congratulations, boss! Wishing you and your spouse a happy marriage and a lifetime of happiness together!" Special Assistant Yang was very sharp and quickly caught on.

"Mm." A smile curved Pei Yanchuan's lips.

Special Assistant Yang left the office carrying the wedding candy and returned to his workstation.

The assistants' workstations were all in an open-plan area. As soon as Special Assistant Yang came out, everyone looked at him and the little red box in his hand.

"Special Assistant Yang, what's that you're holding?" a female colleague asked curiously.

"Wedding candy from the boss." Special Assistant Yang made no attempt to keep it quiet. After all, according to the boss, everyone would get some that afternoon.

"Wedding candy? I've never heard of that kind of candy." The female colleague's eyes filled with curiosity.

The other colleagues nearby who heard him quietly pricked up their ears too.

"President Pei got married, so he bought some wedding candy to share the joy with us. You'll probably get yours this afternoon." Special Assistant Yang smiled.

"For real? President Pei got married!" Everyone grew excited.

"Oh, I remember now! A colleague from the investment department told me before that the elder President Pei had signed President Pei up for a Marriage Variety Show. I thought she was lying to me at the time." The female colleague's eyes suddenly widened.

"I'm so curious who the boss's spouse is! Who could have actually won our President Pei over?"
