Unlike those in the well of the earlier settlement, the Corpse Pouches in this Blood Pool still had life in them. Sensing the presence of a living person, the densely packed Corpse Pouches all raised their heads, their hair disheveled and faces hideous. They slowly crawled out of the Blood Pool, then swiftly lunged at Mu Bai together.
"You've walked straight into the net! Just in time..."
He spread the Cloud Luo Heavenly Net through the air, and the Corpse Pouches crawling out of the Blood Pool plunged into it one after another.
"Close!"
Once every Corpse Pouch floating in the Blood Pool had plunged into the Cloud Luo Heavenly Net, Mu Bai swept his hand and tightened its opening. The corpses clawed and tore savagely inside, all to no avail.
The Cloud Luo Heavenly Net he had obtained from the Many-Treasure Rat was exceptionally sturdy. Mu Bai had tested it; even the White Spirit Cold Flame could not damage it in the slightest.
After gathering the Corpse Pouches, Mu Bai summoned the Divine Crow and Origin Water Chiru to burn the struggling, shrieking corpses in the Cloud Luo Heavenly Net with Divergent Flame. Most of the ten thousand corpses in these Corpse Pouches had yet to produce Corpse Poison, so they ceased to pose a threat under the flames. A few blue and green Corpse Poisons leaped out, but soon died beneath Mu Bai's Greenwood Sword.
Not daring to let his guard down, he saw the Blood Pool churn even more violently. A pair of deathly pale, blistered, swollen arms reached out of the pool, followed by a female corpse's head. Not a single strand of hair remained on her head, and most of the flesh had fallen from her face, making her fangs look particularly long and sharp.
