The few remaining jailers slumped to the ground, cold all over, no longer daring to make a sound.

Blood had splattered across their faces and bodies, yet they could no longer feel any warmth, only numbness and despair.

By this point in his escape, Roy had killed over a thousand jailers and Jailer Beasts.

He had once again set a personal best.

"Cough, cough... Roy... you demon! What have you done to my subordinates!"

Magellan actually forced himself to his feet at that moment, his eyes filled with bloody tears.

"You deserve to die! You really deserve to die!"

Shiryu was dead.

Sadi was dead.

Hannyabal's fate was unknown.

Impel Down's fighting forces had been all but annihilated.

He hated him.

His hatred nearly drove him mad.

Roy remained calm, even carrying a hint of mockery.

"Magellan, if you want to blame anyone, blame yourselves for getting in my way."

"Forget it. In your eyes, I was always a demon, an executioner."

He paused briefly, then his voice turned utterly cold.

"In that case, I, Roy, will be the greatest demon in this world!"

"Watch out. I'm going to finish you."

Roy raised his finger and aimed it at Magellan.

His remaining cursed energy poured furiously into the cursed technique, Dismantle: Eight.

The power of the Slashes technique increased with the strength of his cursed energy, enough to deliver a fatal blow.

Moreover, unlike Dismantle, Dismantle: Eight followed a more regular trajectory.

If accompanied by chanting, its power would multiply further.

He simply needed his template synchronization rate to reach a certain level before he could use that.

For now, though, a single enhanced slash would be enough to finish Magellan.

From his feet to his head, his body rapidly turned into crimson venom. His aura seemed to push past its limits, nearly reaching the realm of an Admiral.

Finally, he swelled into a red giant dozens of meters tall.

"Roy, I'll take your life!"

The red giant roared and swung its massive fist, bringing it crashing down at Roy amid a sky full of poison gas!

There was not a trace of fear in Roy's eyes. Instead, fervor and excitement flared within them.

"Hahaha! Magellan, even a real Admiral would have to give ground before that punch!"

"You've earned my recognition!"

"Then I hope you survive!"

"Enhanced Slash: Hachi!"

As his words fell, a Cross Slash burst into the air.

Everything within dozens of meters along its path shattered. Walls, the ground, and the Lift Platform all exploded beneath that single strike.

Had Impel Down not stood for hundreds of years with a sufficiently sturdy structure, that blow might have split it clean open!

The slash collided with the red giant.

There was no evenly matched clash as one might have imagined, nor any miracle.

Magellan was already on his last legs. The red giant's fist held for only a second before the Cross Slash split it apart!

Its force undiminished, the slash headed straight for Magellan's real body like the Grim Reaper's scythe.

Magellan let out an agonized scream.

He felt that he really was going to die. Shiryu's figure even appeared before his eyes.

The jailers broke down completely.

"Chief Warden Magellan!"

Even the slowest among them could tell Magellan was in danger!

Roy's expression remained untroubled.

"Magellan, you wanted to protect your subordinates and turn the battle around. You're too greedy."

"I think I'll remember you."

But at that critical instant, a terrifying chill abruptly swept across the entire area!

Its power undiminished, it even cleaved through nearly a kilometer of red conifer forest outside Impel Down's first level, before plunging into the enormous opening leading to the second!

From a distance, the entire area looked as though it had been carved apart by an enormous cross-shaped slash mark.

The entire area fell silent.

Even the jailers who had not yet died, and even the supreme fighting force of Marine Headquarters who had just arrived...

Marine Admiral Kuzan, were shaken by it.

"Hey, hey, hey... how did a monster like this end up in Impel Down!"

"He didn't use a sword, yet he unleashed a terrifying slash on par with a Great Swordsman's. You've got to be kidding!"

"If I hadn't intervened in time and that blow had hit Magellan, how could he possibly have survived?"

Even Kuzan felt deep apprehension rise within him.

Without using Elementalization, even he would probably have been cut clean in half by that strike!

However, this also made his gaze flicker...
