Liumu took Naruto and Sasuke to the Hinterlands to test their combined Nine-Tails and Susanoo technique, then challenged them to combine Kagutsuchi with Rasenshuriken. After hours of practice, their chakra control began to improve, but they were nearly out of chakra when they attempted the combination again.

• Liumu brought Naruto, Sasuke, Shisui, and Fugaku to the Hinterlands and sealed off the training area with the Sea God Domain.
• Naruto and Sasuke successfully combined Nine-Tails Mode and Susanoo, creating an armored Nine-Tails that protected them both.
• Liumu proposed combining Sasuke's Kagutsuchi with Naruto's Rasenshuriken, but their first attempt failed and Liumu shielded them with waves.
• Naruto and Sasuke refused to give up and practiced for several hours while Liumu asked Shisui to tell Han and Muhan he would be home late.
• Naruto and Sasuke tried again with little chakra left, calling out Kagutsuchi and Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.

After Naruto and Sasuke successfully combined their powers to unleash a devastating attack, Liumu realized that his overwhelming strength made him feel out of place in a peaceful world. He asked Han to leave Konoha with him for Ice Island, and she agreed; they planned to depart the next day.

• Liumu, Sasuke, and Naruto combined Kagutsuchi with Naruto's Rasenshuriken and sent the attack crashing into the sea.
• Liumu reflected that his actions had changed the war and Konoha, but his unmatched power might become a source of fear now that peace seemed possible.
• Liumu returned home and told Han that he wanted to leave Konoha for Ice Island in the Land of Water.
• Han agreed to go with Liumu and said she would prepare, while he decided they would leave tomorrow.
