Ice and Snow City

Half an hour later.

The snow fell harder and harder, and the snowbanks on either side had even reached a meter high!

Through the falling snow,

Lin Yi finally made out the convoy in the distance.

"Hey, hey, Elder Qi, you guys really can run!"

Lin Yi complained speechlessly into the radio.

Only silence came back.

Nothing but silence.

A deathly silence.

"Something's wrong."

Lin Yi immediately grew wary.

Looking closely, he saw many paths plowed through the surrounding ground by the Apocalypse Heavy Trucks.

The convoy seemed to have encountered something and fled back and forth.

Eventually, it had headed in the direction before him.

Lin Yi focused his gaze. Ahead of the convoy, he could actually make out the outline of a city of ice and snow.

Every building in the city seemed to be made of ice.

At a glance, it looked like an exquisitely carved work of art!

At the very center of Ice and Snow City stood an extremely tall building.

An enormous head was carved atop the building.

The head's eyes seemed able to pierce through the snow and see the approaching Jury-Rigged Car.

Faintly, he could also hear an eerie song drifting out.

"You love me, I love you..."

"Ice and Snow City, oh so sweet..."

"Fuck, this is way too creepy."

Every hair on Lin Yi's body stood on end. His Sequence Transcendence danger perception was warning him.

The Contribution belonging to Elder Qi and the others was no longer among the convoy, but moving slowly through Ice and Snow City instead.

Their choice to abandon their vehicles and proceed on foot was itself very wrong.

Screech.

Without any hesitation, Lin Yi used a fork in the road to turn around and sped back the way he had come.

"Lin Yi?"

Clown tilted his head in confusion.

"We need to think this through. Think this through."

Lin Yi offered no further explanation. He floored the accelerator, and the Jury-Rigged Car scraped against the surrounding snowbanks as it drifted erratically forward.

Lin Yi was already using every ounce of strength to steady the vehicle, wanting only to escape the eerie Ice and Snow City as quickly as possible.

But he had not driven far before the eerie song rang out again.

"You love me, I love you."

"Ice and Snow City, oh so sweet..."

"Hiss."

Lin Yi looked up and sucked in a cold breath.

Ice and Snow City, which he had left behind, had appeared ahead of him at some unknown point.

Elder Qi's convoy sat silently at the entrance to Ice and Snow City.

Everything told him this was the very same Ice and Snow City from before.

A sense of foreboding instantly flooded his entire body.

Lin Yi hurriedly turned and charged off in another direction.

The eerie song came again.

The familiar scene appeared once more.

"This is some fucking haunting."

Although the apocalypse had already arrived,

every previous encounter with the horrors had been a head-on fight with real weapons.

This Ice and Snow City before him was sinister enough to truly feel like a haunting.

"Looks like we can't get away."

Lin Yi gritted his teeth and looked at Clown beside him.

"Hehehe, then let's stop running."

Clown broke into a grin.

"Hehehe..."

Da Sha grinned foolishly, looking delighted.

Lin Yi: ...

He had no words for them.

Now he understood, too.

Why Elder Qi and the others had still chosen to enter despite the eerie scene before them.

There was simply no escaping this damned thing!

Lin Yi had no choice but to drive toward Ice and Snow City as well.

He could feel the eyes on the enormous head turning continuously with his vehicle, seemingly watching him...

Perhaps he could hide outside Ice and Snow City for a while.

But who knew whether some horror might rush out of Ice and Snow City and kill him?

Even setting that aside, if he stayed outside, his food would run out.

His body heat would be depleted, and ultimately, death would be his only end.

The Jury-Rigged Car stopped behind the convoy.

Only then did Lin Yi understand why the Apocalypse Heavy Trucks had not entered Ice and Snow City.

Lin Yi and the other two each carried a backpack containing some supplies.

Going around the Apocalypse Heavy Trucks, they saw countless vehicles parked ahead at the entrance to Ice and Snow City.

The vehicles were piled together, and some even had thick layers of snow on their roofs, looking as though they had been parked there for a long time.

The three leaped up and walked over the vehicle roofs toward Ice and Snow City.

The entrance to Ice and Snow City was an enormous archway.

The large words "Ice and Snow City" were written above it.

On either side stood walls of ice and snow enclosing the entire city.

If not for the horror apocalypse, it really would have had the beauty of something from an animated film.

The three jumped down from the vehicle roofs, entering Ice and Snow City.

To Lin Yi's surprise, although snowflakes drifted through Ice and Snow City too, there was no accumulated snow on the ground.

As far as he could see, densely packed snowmen stood on either side, exaggerated smiles drawn on their faces. A path remained between them, as though the host here had deliberately arranged for them to guide visitors...

Lin Yi stared at the snowmen's smiles. For some reason, the longer he looked, the more terrifying they seemed.

"Ice and Snow City, oh so sweet..."

Lin Yi abruptly turned toward Clown, who was humming. "What are you doing?"

Clown looked puzzled. "I don't know. I just thought it was catchy."

"Something's wrong. Something's wrong with this song!"

Lin Yi instantly broke out in a cold sweat. He pulled some medical cotton straight from his backpack. "Plug your ears."

"Oh." Clown did as instructed, and his eyes indeed became much clearer.

Lin Yi gave Da Sha a pair as well, finally shutting out the eerie song.

But unexpectedly, at that moment,

the snowmen's smiling mouths turned upside down, making them look angry.

Their round bodies swayed from side to side as they actually began closing in on the three.

All the snowmen opened and closed their mouths, and faintly, the eerie song seeped into their ears again.

"You love me, I love you..."

"Ice and Snow City, oh so sweet..."

At the sight, Lin Yi's expression darkened considerably.

He gestured to Clown and Da Sha, then quickly charged out through the snowmen.

Fortunately, all three possessed Sequence Transcendence and were extremely fast.

Before the snowmen could surround them, they had already broken out of the encirclement.

Just as they escaped,

the snowmen's mouths flipped over again, returning to their original smiles.

They stopped pursuing them and instead swayed their way back to their original positions.

"This just keeps getting creepier."

Lin Yi's expression grew even grimmer.

From the moment he encountered Ice and Snow City until now, he had not met a single actual horror, yet this felt more terrifying than any previous encounter.

Beyond the crowd of snowmen, a world of pure white met their eyes.

Only up close did they discover that the city was not made of ice.

Instead, the city's original buildings were encased in ice.

Thud.

Without any warning, a brick of ice slammed down in front of him.

A red light flashed. With almost no hesitation, the Blade of Greed was already in his hand in a reverse grip.

His body instantly tensed, and killing intent flashed in his eyes!
