The sun rose again the next day.
Lin Yi got into his Jury-Rigged Car, while the Wolf King walked beside it like a faithful guard.
Except this fellow's loyalty had dropped to 12 overnight.
Judging by its green-glowing eyes, it was clearly hungry.
Lin Yi looked at his car, and its information appeared.
[Anomaly name: Doomsday Assembled Car.] [Description: A means of transportation cobbled together from scrap metal, forcibly infused with Anomalies.] [Anomaly sequence: 3068.] [Trait 1: Interference.] [Releases interference through the Big-Headed Anomaly Skull, preventing anomalies from tracking you for a certain period.] [Trait 2: Jury-Rigged Car's Gratitude. The Jury-Rigged Car is very grateful that you brought it into this world. Its gratitude makes you its one and only.] [Trait 3: Long tongue. The long tongue allows the Jury-Rigged Car to devour anomalies on its own to replenish energy! It also has some restraining capabilities!] [Trait 4: Eye of Truth. The Eye of Truth can see through anomalies!] [Note: The Jury-Rigged Car has devoured the original price, and only you can start the vehicle!]
"Hmm, modifying it with two Anomalies raised its ranking by quite a bit."
Lin Yi was quite satisfied with his Jury-Rigged Car.
Lu Hanxue made a giant ice shovel out of ice.
Four wolves pulled the shovel as they raced through the snow, clearing the road extremely quickly.
With the wolf pack around.
By noon, the outline of a small town had appeared ahead.
The Small Town was different from Ice and Snow City.
The buildings in the Small Town were still exposed to sunlight, with only thick snow filling every corner.
The Small Town was very quiet.
Without a Guide, there was no way to determine the exact number of anomalies in the Small Town.
Before entering the Small Town, Lin Yi put the Jury-Rigged Car into the Blood Ring and swung himself onto the Wolf King's back.
"Come on. I'll treat you all to a good meal today."
Lin Yi patted the Wolf King's head.
The Wolf King instantly perked up.
The convoy entered the Small Town alongside the wolf pack.
Lin Yi chose to take a road alone. After all, he swept through supplies far too quickly.
Whenever he passed a shop, he simply used Group Transfer. No supplies inside any shop could escape his grasp.
He did not even need to enter the shops.
He tossed all the transferred supplies into the Blood Ring.
He did not spare the abandoned car wrecks by the roadside, either.
When he had time at night, he would have the Wolf King practice its repair skills.
What Lin Yi found somewhat regrettable was that the Blood Ring differed from the spatial rings in novels.
Spatial rings could keep shelf lives unchanged.
The temperature inside the Blood Ring, however, depended on the outside environment, and the food inside would gradually expire with time.
The Blood Ring had plenty of space.
Like a bandit raiding a village, Lin Yi swept through everything along the way, leaving nothing behind.
He even tossed tables, chairs, and stools into the Blood Ring.
In this freezing weather, tables, chairs, and stools were all good materials for keeping warm.
What Lin Yi failed to notice was this.
As he advanced, his shadow began twisting irregularly.
Yet it quickly returned to normal.
It showed no sign of anything unusual.
The Wolf King seemed to sense something. It glanced at its enormous shadow, but could not quite work it out, so it could only continue following Lin Yi.
Lin Yi did not mistreat the Wolf King, either. Thanks to the weather, most of the meat in the butcher shops had been preserved fairly well.
He specifically focused his searches on butcher shops.
Perhaps some of the meat had already been bad before the apocalypse.
Any meat with problems went straight to the Wolf King.
The Wolf King's body had been modified and strengthened, so naturally, it turned nothing down.
"Hey, you're a survivor, right? Over here, over here!"
Half a body suddenly emerged from the entrance of a shopping mall not far away.
Lin Yi looked up. It was a woman.
The woman was bundled in a thick down jacket, her face thoroughly covered against the cold, leaving only her eyes exposed.
Her eyes were full of urgency as she waved at Lin Yi incessantly.
"Are you talking to me?" Lin Yi's voice was calm. Red light was already beginning to flicker in his hand, and the Blade of Greed could appear in it at any moment.
With the apocalypse upon them, former human population centers were the most dangerous places.
Anyone who dared remain in the Small Town definitely had something wrong with them.
"Come over here, young man. It's dangerous out there." The woman kept beckoning.
"Oh, and what if I don't?" An amused smile curled Lin Yi's lips.
"I have plenty of supplies here. Lots and lots of supplies. Don't you want them?" A hint of urgency appeared in the woman's eyes.
"Oh, not interested." Lin Yi remained unmoved.
At his words, the smile vanished from the woman's face, which suddenly became hideously contorted. "Come here! Get over here!"
"Heh, I knew there was something wrong with you." Lin Yi stood where he was, sunlight spilling over his body. He wanted to see just what this woman was up to.
Crack, crack, crack.
The next moment, the ground began to churn, accompanied by the sounds of buildings cracking and collapsing.
The five-story shopping mall shattered in the blink of an eye.
Then the woman's body slowly rose.
An enormous snake's head abruptly appeared.
Its head alone was the size of Elder Qi's heavy truck!
And that woman was actually the giant snake's tongue transformed!
"Damn it, damn it, damn it!"
As the giant snake emerged from the ground, the woman roared with savage madness.
The giant snake's slit pupils immediately locked onto Lin Yi.
Buildings collapsed with thunderous crashes.
Amid the dust, a terrifying behemoth gradually revealed itself!
Even a simple visual estimate put it at well over fifty meters!
"It's been ages since you've had meat. Today, you'll finally get some."
Lin Yi patted the Wolf King's head.
He felt little fear at the giant snake's size.
Terror flickered in the Wolf King's eyes, however, as though it were saying, Buddy, you're seriously not joking? Can we really take this thing?
"Die, die, die!"
The woman roared madly. The giant snake twisted its body and rapidly approached through a huge cloud of dust.
Its foul-smelling mouth snapped open the instant it reached Lin Yi.
A cruel smile appeared on the woman's face. She reached for Lin Yi with both hands, as though she wanted to give him a great big hug.
"Otherworldly Walking."
Lin Yi and the giant wolf instantly vanished.
With a leap, the giant wolf landed atop the giant snake's head with ease.
The Blade of Greed flashed in Lin Yi's hand as he thrust it viciously toward the giant snake's skull.
Screech, screech, screech...
Unexpectedly, the Blade of Greed, which had previously cut through everything-even the Blood Ghost-only sent showers of sparks flying when it struck the giant snake's scales.
Lin Yi's expression finally changed.
"What the hell is this thing?" Without hesitation, he slapped the Wolf King's head. "Retreat."
The Wolf King had wanted to run long before this. At Lin Yi's command, it turned and fled into the distance without another word.
"Something seriously nasty has shown up. Hurry up and run."
Lin Yi shouted into the walkie-talkie, then casually tossed it into the Blood Ring.
"Otherworldly Walking, activate."
Looking at the giant snake trailing billowing clouds of dust behind him, Lin Yi activated Otherworldly Walking without hesitation.
"Damned rat, damned rat."
The woman was still screaming hysterically.
Losing her target made her particularly furious.
Yet just then, her shadow began to twist and gather.
A pitch-black ghostly figure emerged from the woman's shadow, its featureless black face staring straight at her.
The woman looked at the shadow. Rather than alarm, delight filled her, and a cruel laugh colored her voice. "Hehehe, Shadow Anomaly, you can find him!?"
