"Hm? Otherworldly Walking? Interesting!"
Lin Yi activated Otherworldly Walking at the same time.
Sure enough, the Wolf King was already fleeing through Otherworldly Walking.
When it saw Lin Yi enter the state of Otherworldly Walking too, panic flashed in its eyes, and it fled even faster.
"Heh, trying to run?"
Lin Yi sneered.
The Sea of Blood surged over, swallowing the Wolf King in a blink.
Countless Vengeful Ghosts let out piercing shrieks, tearing at the Wolf King's four legs and dragging it toward the Sea of Blood.
"Awoooo!!!"
The Wolf King howled in panic, twisting frantically as it tried to break free of the Vengeful Ghosts' hold.
Unfortunately, the Sea of Blood churned, and a twenty-meter-tall Nine-Headed Anomaly emerged.
The panic in the Wolf King's eyes deepened.
"Awoo, awoooo!!!"
Lin Yi could control the creatures in the Sea of Blood.
He did not have the Nine-Headed Anomaly attack the Wolf King. Its mere presence was a deterrent.
Actually, the main reason was that the Vengeful Ghosts in the Sea of Blood had no combat power. They could only intimidate and restrain...
Lin Yi approached the Wolf King, killing intent flickering in his eyes. "Submit or die!"
A flicker of conflict passed through the Wolf King's eyes. It glanced at the terrifying Nine-Headed Anomaly and finally lowered its head.
"Conversion."
Lin Yi used Conversion.
[Wolf King; loyalty 20.]
"Only twenty? Whatever."
Lin Yi waved his hand, and the Sea of Blood receded.
He and the Wolf King exited Otherworldly Walking.
The Wolf King's arrival made up for his lack of speed during Otherworldly Walking.
What he had not expected, however, was that abilities were not unique!
"Tell your underlings to stop."
Sitting on the wolf's back, Lin Yi patted its head.
"Awoo!"
The Wolf King had clearly developed intelligence. When Lin Yi gave the order, it promptly relayed it.
"Awoo!"
"Awoooo!!!"
The pack answered and began to retreat.
"Lin Yi succeeded already." Li Jie was pleasantly surprised.
Before long, he saw Lin Yi riding the imposing Wolf King toward him from afar.
"Awesome, absolutely awesome." Li Jie did not hold back his praise.
Lu Hanxue removed the freezing effect from the survivors.
She could not help taking a few extra looks at the Wolf King.
"Assign each survivor a wolf. That'll speed us up considerably."
Lin Yi patted the Wolf King's head as he spoke to Li Jie.
"Sure thing." Li Jie's grin nearly reached his ears. "Can I have one too?"
"Sure," Lin Yi said indifferently. "But once we find vehicles, all the giant wolves have to be returned."
"Hehehe, I've wanted to try this for ages." Li Jie ran toward a wolf in great excitement, utterly intoxicated by the feel of its fur.
The survivors' eyes lit up as well.
"Thanks, boss!"
"Lin, you're so cool!"
"May you live to a hundred, Lin!"
Lin Yi glanced at the survivors, feeling as though an idle effort had unexpectedly borne fruit.
Every survivor's contribution had increased by a full thirty.
"Move out!"
Almost the instant they finished eating, Li Jie eagerly gave the order.
The vehicles began moving, with the wolves treading through the snow around the five vehicles, giving off an intense sense of pressure to anyone facing them.
"This is just too damn cool!" Li Jie marveled.
The weather was gloomy that day, and eerie, wavering wails occasionally sounded from their surroundings.
After the wolves were assigned, more than a dozen remained.
Lin Yi sent those remaining wolves to patrol the surrounding area.
The wolves explored the snowy terrain extremely quickly, vanishing from sight in the blink of an eye.
"Finally, I can rest for a bit." Eagle Eye rubbed the corners of his eyes, finding Lin Yi more likable by the moment.
"Awoooo!!!"
Before long, a giant wolf scouting ahead discovered danger and returned.
"I'll handle it."
Lin Yi patted the Wolf King, and it shot forward.
Before long, Lin Yi returned.
"Awoooo!!!"
Another giant wolf returned.
"I'll handle it!"
Lin Yi kept racing through the snow.
One eerie creature after another fell to him in the Sea of Blood.
Every survivor looked at Lin Yi with admiration.
Their contribution values skyrocketed.
The Wolf King's loyalty, on the other hand, dropped to 15.
After all, who would not resent working without being fed?
After a whole day of this, night soon arrived.
The survivors were especially enthusiastic that day.
Every one of them adored their giant wolf.
After eating and drinking their fill, sleeping beside their giant wolves made them feel considerably warmer.
"Come here. I need a favor."
Lin Yi beckoned to the Wolf King.
The Wolf King approached Lin Yi in some confusion.
Lin Yi stuffed the Universal Wrench into its mouth.
Then the Blood Ring flashed.
The two halves of the Jury-Rigged Car appeared.
"Here, fix it for me."
Lin Yi pointed at the Jury-Rigged Car.
The Wolf King: ???
Confusion flashed in its eyes, as though it were saying, Bro, are you serious?
You want a wolf to fix this?
Lin Yi did not care what it was thinking.
He simply tossed the Jury-Rigged Car in front of it.
The Universal Wrench activated.
And so, every survivor witnessed a scene that turned their understanding of the world upside down.
A wolf was clanking away at a car with a wrench in its mouth...
What they found even more absurd was this.
An hour later, the Wolf King actually fixed the Jury-Rigged Car???
"Hmm, the Long-Tongued Wraith's tongue, the Big-Headed Ghost's eyes..."
Lin Yi tossed both Anomaly materials at the Wolf King's feet. "Install these two things too."
The Wolf King: ...
While the Wolf King toiled away installing the Anomalies, Lin Yi simply found a giant wolf and fell asleep against its soft body.
Leaving the working wolf alone and bewildered in the wind...
"Grrrr."
It was the stomach of the giant wolf beside him growling.
Lin Yi suddenly remembered something.
They need to eat too, don't they...
A hundred wolves. I don't seem to have enough supplies.
Whatever. Going hungry for a couple of days should be fine.
Ignoring the giant wolf's resentful gaze, Lin Yi rolled over and drifted back into blissful sleep.
He paid no attention whatsoever to the giant wolves whose eyes had turned green with hunger that day.
They were not allowed to eat people.
Some wolves had been driven to secretly gnaw on bark and dig up roots in the night...
"Wooooo~~~~~"
A deep, ethereal sound startled Lin Yi awake.
The instant he opened his eyes, he froze.
It was not just him. Every survivor froze.
Even Lu Hanxue, who had always been utterly composed, opened her mouth wide in surprise.
A Blue Whale that blotted out the sky swam through the pitch-black night.
It roamed the heavens, its body stretching beyond the limits of their vision.
At a single cry from the Blue Whale, all the giant wolves lay trembling on the ground.
Even the Wolf King was no exception, its eyes filled with terror!
"What... what on earth is that thing...?"
Even Li Jie's voice trembled as he spoke.
The Blue Whale flew for a full five minutes before gradually disappearing from view.
No one could recover for a long time.
Their minds were filled with the Blue Whale that blotted out the sky.
"Perhaps we've only seen the tip of the apocalypse's iceberg."
Wu Ke sighed.
Lin Yi said nothing, merely clenching his fists tightly...
