Centaurs Dared to Steal My Kills!?
The horsemen were very fast runners. For them, who had lived in the Forbidden Forest since childhood, the dense forest was no obstacle to their progress.
Before long, the centaurs approached the territory of the Acromantula.
"Stop! Stop now!"
Ronan suddenly sped up, running from the back of the group to the front.
"Hmph! Ronan, why did you still follow me? Are you still planning to promote your cowardly theory?"
Bane glanced back at Ronan, gave a disdainful snort, and continued walking.
They talked like it was the truth before, but their bodies didn't quite match up.
"No, Bane. Can't you feel it? Mars is getting closer to us!" Ronan said anxiously.
Upon hearing Ronan's words, the centaurs looked up at the sky and indeed found that the light of Mars was about to envelop them.
The centaurs quickly braked and looked at Bane, the leader, somewhat bewildered.
"Us..."
Bane for a few seconds, preparing to issue a new command.
"Get out of the way!"
Boom!
Broken stones and tree fragments flew like cannonballs, and the centaurs dodged in panic. Even so, several people were cut by the shards.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured or killed as a result.
A dark shadow streaked across the sky, several Curses lights flashed, and the Acromantula that followed fell to the ground dead.
Bell glanced curiously at the chaotic centaurs. Were their territory really that close to the Acromantula's? It was amazing they could sleep so soundly at night.
Faced with a large number of giant spiders surrounding him, Bell certainly couldn't stand still and fight them head-on.
As the fierce battle continued, Bell had strayed far from his original location and even left the territory of the Acromantula.
Bell raised his Wand, and an Acromantula that had been launched above his head by a spider silk was frozen in mid-air.
Then, Bell swung his Wand forward sharply, and the giant spider flew forward quickly, colliding with another giant spider that was pouncing on it.
The two giant spiders tumbled together for dozens of meters, dizzy and disoriented, unable to get up for a long time.
"Bane, what do we do?"
Faced with the menacing Acromantula, the centaurs nervously took down the longbows from their backs, nocked arrows, and aimed at the spiders.
"Attack! Kill all these scum!"
The hot-tempered Bane fired the first arrow. The arrowhead embedded itself in the Acromantula's carapace, but failed to inflict a fatal wound.
Upon hearing their leader's command, the remaining centaurs fired their arrows without hesitation.
The hatred between centaurs and the Acromantula has a long history. Ever since the Acromantula colonies grew larger and larger and began to encroach on more and more of the Forbidden Forest, the centaurs, who consider themselves the guardians of the Forbidden Forest, have had a never-ending conflict with the Acromantula.
Aragog, who was being slaughtered by Bell and was considering whether he should back down and surrender, was immediately enraged when he saw the centaurs suddenly appear in the arena and attack his offspring (even though he had neither hair nor a crown).
"Damn it! Do you really think we Acromantula are easy to bully? Any Tom, Dick, or Harry dares to come here and cause trouble?! Today I'll show you what it means to be wary of spiders! Attack! Annihilate these four-legged bastards!"
Aragog shouted commands to his people.
There was nothing they could do! That wizard was just too powerful! In such a short time, nearly a third of its adult spiderlings had already died. As for the immature spiderlings, only heaven knows how many were affected and killed.
If this fighting continues, its entire clan might be wiped out tonight! Although it doesn't have many years left to live, that doesn't mean it wants to die!
So since they couldn't afford to mess with that wizard, they could only bully the centaurs who suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
Hopefully, that wretched wizard will understand its desire for peace.
With so many giant spiders dead, even Hagrid's appetite should be enough to keep him going for a long time!
As for the future?
Then we'll just have to wait until later to talk about it.
Perhaps it will die of old age before the wizard returns. In that case, it won't need to worry about this problem.
Standing on a branch of a large tree, Bell looked down at the centaurs and Acromantula locked in fierce combat, his head full of questions but no answers.
So what exactly happened?
He was happily fighting with the Acromantula, so why is no one paying attention to him all of a sudden?
Could it be that he encountered the legendary monster-stealing incident? Did the centaurs steal his monster?!
This is absolutely outrageous!
Bell is unhappy! Very unhappy!!!
He's even considering switching to a larger size to guard the horseman's corpse!
However, this is just wishful thinking. As a peace-loving and outstanding young man of the new era, how could Bell possibly do such an immoral thing? It's impossible.
Besides, it was already quite late. Bell took out his Personal Terminal to check the time and found that it was almost 1 a. m.
He has to get up early for training tomorrow, so it looks like he'll have to catch up on sleep during his A History of Magic class.
After sensing the approximately one-quarter of the magic power remaining in his body, Bell decisively cast an Disillusionment Charm on himself and quietly slipped away along the trail left from the previous battle, heading back the way he came.
It's time to harvest the ingredients!
The centaurs fought and retreated, while the Acromantula pressed forward relentlessly. Even in a one-on-one fight, an adult centaur would need to expend considerable effort to slowly kite an adult Acromantula to death. With a tenfold or greater numerical advantage, the centaurs had no chance of winning.
"Damn it! There are too many spiders! Where's the wizard? We need his help!"
"That wizard disappeared a while ago! What do we do? If this continues, we'll all be wiped out!"
"Damn it! Retreat! Everyone, retreat!"
Seeing the one-sided situation on the field, Bane had no choice but to issue a retreat order. After all, they had already killed several Acromantula; perhaps tonight's trip hadn't been in vain?
"Want to leave? Not so easy! Stay here, all of you! Attack!" Aragog roared triumphantly.
It had just learned from its children that the Curses's light had disappeared shortly after it and the spiders began their battle with the centaurs. And its children were no longer killed by the Curses.
It seems the wizard understood its meaning and withdrew on his own.
So, old ginger is spicier, and a people can't do without its wise leadership!
