The Incredibly Troublesome Brother and Sister
Hearing Yomi's "reasonable" explanation, Bell felt somewhat disappointed.
On the one hand, there was disappointment; the small villa turned out not to be the legendary guesthouse.
On the other hand, he actually hoped that evil spirits would attack him.
It's been a long time since Bell has made a move, and he's really itching to get his hands dirty.
The "Ingredient Hunting" activity that was originally planned to be participated in with my younger sister next school year has been completely canceled due to Dumbledore's interference.
So, if a few evil spirits were to attack him, Bell would probably be laughing in his sleep.
Needless to say, Bell was particularly interested in Japan's specialty—evil spirits. He longed to find an opportunity to capture a few and bring them back to Britain for further study.
"Please come in, I'll arrange rooms for you."
Guided by the Yomi, the Bell family entered the Isayama Family.
As he passed through the doorway, Bell used his magic to sense it slightly.
"The barrier's strength is average; it's probably only for early warning."
"Sister Yomi, are you all alone at home?"
Bell did not sense anyone else's presence here.
"My father and I live here. However, due to the recent attack and death of the head of the Tsuchimiya Family, my father has been quite busy lately and is rarely home. I am truly sorry. Once my father returns, he will come to greet all of you distinguished guests as soon as possible."
Yomi bowed again in apology.
"It's alright, it's alright. We came uninvited, so Sister Yomi doesn't need to apologize at all."
Bell felt a little embarrassed after Yomi kept bowing and apologizing. It was as if his family was bullying a little girl.
Dinner consisted of simple home-cooked meals prepared by Yomi himself.
Elena had initially been eager to help with the cooking. However, since housework was usually left to the House-elf, and who knows when Elena had last cooked (or perhaps she had never cooked at all?), she blushed and left the kitchen after nearly setting the house on fire.
After dinner, the group discussed their plans for tomorrow.
"What? There's no market for Curse World at all?"
Bell found it utterly unbelievable. He had just suggested visiting the Onmyoji's shopping district the next day to check out the market and do some shopping, only to be told by Yomi that there was no such thing as a shopping district in the Curse World?
"Could it be that I used the wrong word?"
Bell had some doubts: perhaps his mediocre Japanese had failed to convey the meaning he wanted to express correctly?
However, Yomi's next words successfully dispelled Bell's self-doubt.
"Yes, usually, if the major clans have something they need, they will exchange it with each other. If other clans don't have it, they will issue quests to wandering Onmyoji to obtain the necessary materials and items."
Yomi patiently explained the basics of the Curse World to the Bell family.
"If a wandering Onmyoji needs something, they usually look for it in the rewards of the tasks issued by various clans. If they can't find it, they will try their luck at the monthly gathering."
Bell was speechless. These Onmyoji live such a simple life! What era are we living in? Still going to the market?
Um... Bell suddenly realized that it's the 20th century, not the 21st century, and it seems that going to the market is quite normal now?
Fortunately, the Onmyoji gathering is at the end of each month, and it's already close to the end of July, so it won't be long before Bell can go to the market.
In short, since the Bell family couldn't do... cough cough, they couldn't conduct market research, so they had no choice but to reverse the order of things.
Tomorrow, William and Elena will head to the Countermeasures Office to discuss business collaborations with the Onmyoji. As for Bell and Shanna... well, they're definitely going to have fun!
Bell plans to take her younger sister to see the cherry blossoms tomorrow. After all, they're in Japan; they can't come all the way here and not see the cherry blossoms.
What? You're saying the cherry blossoms have already faded?
What a joke! Are you looking down on magic?!
I wouldn't dare say much, but controlling the blooming and withering of a dozen or so cherry blossom trees is something Bell can certainly do now. After all, cherry blossoms aren't magical plants and have no resistance to magic.
"I wonder if there are any Saigyou Ayakashi here?"
The next day, in the evening.
With a face full of exasperation, Yomi dragged Bell and Shanna through the door with heavy steps.
Today she truly witnessed what "making a fuss" really means!
These two siblings are truly amazing! The younger sister, Shanna, comes up with all sorts of wildly imaginative (or, in other words, 'unreliable') ideas. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that. Kids will be kids; a rich imagination is a good thing.
But with his brother Bell added to the mix, Huang Quan wanted to draw his sword and kill someone.
As long as it's a request from Shanna, except for some that are too outrageous, such as when they were at Mount Fuji, Yomi mentioned that she once saw in a magazine that an expert pointed out that if Mount Fuji erupted, then the whole of Japan might disappear.
And guess what? The little girl actually said she wanted to see what it's like to see Mount Fuji erupt!
"Are you the devil?!"
For the first time in her life, Yomi realized that the terror of unruly children far exceeded her imagination.
Hopefully, Yomi won't suffer any psychological trauma from this, leading to problems like "fear of marriage" or "fear of childbirth."
Naturally, even Bell would not grant his younger sister's unreasonable request.
On the contrary, Bell harshly rebuked Shanna for her dangerous idea. Only after Shanna broke down in tears did they manage to turn the page.
Although from Yomi's perspective, Bell's face was full of doting smiles, and he didn't even come close to being stern.
Aside from things that are impossible to do, or things that are possible but not worth doing, Bell really does whatever Shanna tells him to do. There are even things that Bell does before Shanna even asks him to.
Including but not limited to: making a small cherry blossom grove on Mount Fuji bloom; flying to the top of Mount Fuji to take pictures; finding a bear in the mountains at noon and cooking its paws; having a snowball fight with the snow on the mountaintop.
Especially that snowball fight. Yomi has lived for over ten years, and this is the first time he's ever seen a snowball fight like that!? Are they sure they were 'having a snowball fight' and not 'having a snow battle'?
If Yomi hadn't known how close the siblings were, he would have thought they were trying to kill each other.
To make matters worse, the siblings' snowball fight unsurprisingly triggered a massive avalanche that nearly buried her in the snow.
Fortunately, they were in a location far from the scenic area, so they did not affect ordinary tourists.
However, just in case, the scenic area staff still closed the road leading up the mountain.
How can someone spoil their sister to this extent?!
Yomi felt that if it were her and Kagura, she wouldn't spoil Kagura so much!
...perhaps?
