Finally Encountering an Evil Spirit!
"Roar~!"
A deafening roar interrupted Bell's words.
The three looked into the distance upon hearing the sound, and saw a raging fire at the edge of their vision, illuminating the dark night sky as if it were daytime.
After Bell Magic Power Enhancement, he noticed a... not-so-ferocious giant beast at the scene of the fire.
Judging from its comparison with surrounding buildings, the behemoth should be around 10 meters tall. It is entirely black, with intricate red patterns on its back.
The giant beast has two pillar-like forelimbs, but no hind limbs. Instead, it has a thick, long tail, which looks very powerful.
Flames roared outwards from the giant beast's shoulder. The air around it could be seen distorted slightly by the intense heat.
It appears to be a fire-attribute monster.
But then again, this guy has a really loud voice.
Bell estimated that the three of them were at least 3 kilometers away from the giant beast.
Even from this distance, I could clearly hear the other person's shouts.
"Damn it! It's B-Rank Evil Spirit — 'Train '! Sorry, Bell. You two can go back now, I have to get there immediately."
After saying that, Yomi didn't wait for Bell's response before summoning the Ran Honglian and rushing towards the fire scene in the distance.
"Gege, should we go back?"
"Shanna asked."
"How is that possible?"
Bell and Shanna stopped sinking and quickly surfaced.
That's right. The reason they sank so slowly before was because Bell deliberately slowed down the speed to tease Yomi.
"It's rare to come across something so interesting; how can we not join in the fun?"
Bell couldn't help but smile.
Although it might be a bad thing to say it this way, Bell was very happy about the appearance of that giant beast in the distance.
Before coming to Japan, Bell had heard from Zhao Youde that evil spirits were rampant in Japan. After arriving in Japan, he heard similar things from Yomi quite often.
However, it's hard to say whether it's good luck or bad luck. More than a week has passed, and Bell hasn't seen a single trace of the evil spirit.
If Bell hadn't known it was impossible, he would have suspected that Zhao Youde and Yomi were conspiring to fool him.
Hearing her Gege's predictable answer, Little Shanna nodded happily, looking eager to hear it.
Like her older Gege, Little Shanna has always hoped to encounter an evil spirit.
Although she was able to travel to various tourist attractions with her Gege, Little Shanna was really happy.
However, tourist attractions are all pretty much the same, and after seeing Little Shanna for almost a month, I'm really getting tired of it.
"Are you ready? There might be a battle soon."
Bell looked at his younger sister.
Although he was with her, Bell wasn't worried that Shanna would get hurt. But the little girl was still too young, Bell worried that Shanna wouldn't be able to bear the horrific scenes of the battlefield.
"Um!"
Shanna nodded firmly and took her Gege's outstretched hand.
Snap
After a barely audible sound, Bell and Shanna disappeared from the top of Tokyo Tower.
Yomi struggled to control the Ran Honglian, leaping rapidly across the tops of the buildings.
During the day, he had used up too much of his magical power, which made Yomi feel weak all over.
Looking at the rampaging B-Rank Evil Spirit Train in the distance, Yomi was very puzzled.
The Countermeasures Office is capable of monitoring curse reactions within the Tokyo area. Generally, if a reaction indicating the formation of an evil spirit is detected, the Countermeasures Office will dispatch personnel in advance to minimize potential damage.
But now, not only has no one come here to prepare beforehand, but the Train has been wreaking havoc for so long, and the surrounding buildings and pedestrians seem to have suffered heavy losses. Why haven't the teammates in the Countermeasures Office arrived yet?
Regardless, now that she's seen it, Yomi absolutely cannot ignore it. Even if she's not in good shape right now, a quick battle should still be enough to take down a Train.
Controlling Ran Honglian to land on the outskirts of the fire, Yomi planned to have Ran Honglian use the "Roaring Wave" to open a path for her.
Although, given her current state, she should be unable to maintain Ran Honglian existence after Ran Honglian uses the Roaring Wave.
However, she should still have enough strength to deliver one more blow. With the Lion King's sharpness, one strike would be enough to take down the Train!
"Hey! Sister Yomi, you're so slow!"
"..."
(_)
"What are you doing here?! Didn't I tell you to go home? This place is too dangerous, not a place for you to mess around! Get out of here!"
Yomi roared angrily.
As Huang Quan was controlling the Ran Honglian to fall, Yomi was shocked to discover that Bell and Shanna were standing on an open ground outside the fire.
Bell was actually waving at her with a smile on his face?
Does he even know what the situation is?!
"Don't be so heartless, Sister Yomi. We only came because we saw that you were in such a bad state and we were worried about you."
As everyone knows, Bell never lies. Therefore, it's perfectly reasonable for him to say that he's worried about Yomi's safety.
Hmm... that probably accounts for about five percent of the reasons?
"Why do you think I'm in such a bad state?"
Although that's what he thought, Yomi was still very moved.
Because he was always busy with training and exorcisms, Yomi had no friends at school.
The teammates in the Countermeasures Office, due to their age difference, rarely communicated outside of mission content.
So, strictly speaking, Bell and Shanna can be considered the first friends Yomi made who were the same age.
"I appreciate your kindness. But don't worry, I can handle a mere B-Rank Evil Spirit. You should get away from here quickly, and I'll come back for you after I've dealt with the evil spirit."
Having said that, Yomi temporarily suppressed his worries about the Bell siblings.
Time was of the essence. In the short time it had just been speaking, another house had been completely destroyed by the Train and reduced to ruins.
"Ran Honglian, Roaring Wave!"
At Yomi's command, Ran Honglian opened its blood-red maw. After a brief gathering of power, a golden beam of light spewed from its mouth, carving a path through the raging sea of fire straight to the evil spirits.
Watching the Ran Honglian disappear from the spot, Bell raised his hand and stroked his chin, lost in thought.
That "Roaring Wave" attack just now was likely Ran Honglian's innate ability. The reason Bell was pondering this was: why would Yomi use Roaring Wave to clear a path?
It is well known that Magical Creatures are often born with unique abilities. However, compared to the Curses of wizards, these abilities are often more unique than sophisticated.
If we assume that the Roaring Wave consumed 100 units of magical power, then Bell could do the same thing with less than 50 units of magic power.
Therefore, in Bell's view, it was completely absurd and ridiculous for Yomi, who had little remaining curse power, to waste a large amount of curse power on Ran Honglian to use the Roaring Wave.
