Kama Itachi Wants to Run
Bell ignored the cries of those in the Yomi.
His purpose tonight was to instruct his younger sister on how to fight; other things, such as the area affected by the disaster or the number of deaths, were not within Bell's concern.
Just kidding, it's been almost half an hour since the "Train" started wreaking havoc here. Forget about Onmyoji, we haven't even seen a single firefighter Bell.
Since they themselves don't care about the lives of their own people, why would Bell, a foreigner, bother with such trivial matters?
Fortunately, Shanna didn't smash the fireball down from above as Yomi had anticipated. Instead, she controlled the flames, spreading them out horizontally in a ring.
Actually, Yomi was completely overthinking it. After all, Bell is still standing right below. Even if Shanna is furious, she wouldn't let her attack affect her Gege.
Even though Shanna knew that her attack wouldn't hurt her Gege, she simply didn't want to do it, and there was no reasoning with her.
The Fire Ring spread rapidly, dispelling all the shadows below and revealing everything clearly to the three people.
Seeing his younger sister's move, Bell's eyes lit up.
For Shanna, whose Magic Perception range is limited and who lacks the ability to detect and cast spells, this move was clearly a very good judgment.
"There it is!"
" To Reduce to Dust!"
Upon spotting the scoundrel who had ambushed her, Shanna didn't hesitate to throw a Breaking Curse at him.
Bang!
Shanna's punch created a deep crater in the ground, but the Kama Itachi, the target, had already vanished from the spot.
As B-Rank Evil Spirit, the Kama Itachi is not particularly powerful in either attack or defense. Its B-rank classification is solely due to its extraordinary speed.
The Kama Itachi transformed into a black line, dodging several more of Shanna's Curses before striking Shanna shield once more. It retreated immediately after the attack, giving Shanna no chance to retaliate.
"Shanna, what about your Perception Domain? In battle, you need to maintain at least a 10-meter perception range to ensure you have enough time to react when attacked."
Bell called out to his sister. "Seriously, what he did shouldn't be considered a foul, right?"
Actually, Bell noticed at the very beginning of the battle that Shanna hadn't activated her Perception Domain. However, he didn't immediately remind her.
Unlike Bell, Shanna is somewhat lacking in both the total amount of magic power and the ability to control it, so she is not yet able to maintain the existence of her Perception Domain.
Therefore, Shanna had to settle for temporarily activating her Perception Domain only before each battle. This meant she could easily forget about it if she wasn't careful.
Only after experiencing lessons and suffering hardships can people truly remember their mistakes and learn from them.
So Bell waited, waiting for the evil spirit in the shadows to attack Shanna.
And the evil spirit certainly did not disappoint him.
After her Gege reminded her, Shanna realized that she had forgotten to activate her Perception Domain. No wonder she had felt something was missing from the very beginning of the battle.
By swiftly dodging to the right with her Flying Shoes, Shanna successfully evaded the Kama Itachi's attack. However, several of her Curses were also dodged by the enemy once again.
"Incendio!"
The oncoming flames startled the speeding Kama Itachi. Having already used the flames for illumination by Shanna, it had assumed its opponent had run out of fire.
Fortunately, the flames weren't very fast, and after some of its fur was scorched, it managed to dodge them, but its attack was naturally interrupted.
Seeing the scoundrel who dared to ambush her quickly escape the flames' reach, Shanna was so angry she wanted to stomp her feet. It wasn't that she couldn't speed up the flames, but that would mean reducing their area of effect, which would be pointless.
Shanna glanced at the ruins at her feet and pouted unhappily.
The terrain below was too complex. Furthermore, the reinforced concrete in the city Transfiguration relatively slowly due to its high hardness. After several attempts, Shanna could only grasp the other person's shadow before giving up in frustration.
After several more rounds of entanglement, Shanna and Kama Itachi were still unable to gain the upper hand.
"Shanna, do you remember how Hai Pao dealt with the bandits?"
Bell shouted.
"!"
Misty Cover!
Shanna pointed her Wand downwards, and a white mist imbued with magical power spewed from the tip of the wand, quickly enveloping the ground.
As she descended, Shanna floated about 20 centimeters above the ground. She moved swiftly through the thick fog, setting up traps along the way.
Suddenly, a burst of cold air triggered an ice trap that Shanna had set up.
"Magic Power Impact!"
The impact, formed by the convergence of magic, swiftly struck the location of the triggered trap, while simultaneously creating a passage through the mist, allowing Shanna to assess the target's condition.
Boom!
The target shattered instantly under the impact of the magic. But Shanna felt no joy at all.
Because what was shattered was not the troublesome Kama Itachi, but an ordinary low-level evil spirit.
Shanna then remembered that there were still some low-level evil spirits in the area that hadn't been cleared out.
Then, every so often, one of the traps set by Shanna would be triggered. Several times, the Kama Itachi stepped on the trap, but in the end, Shanna could only injure it, and then it would escape.
Seeing the stalemate in the arena, Bell smiled slightly but made no move.
Because Shanna is still too young, she is easily agitated. And being easily agitated is not a good quality in battle.
The current stalemate is, in fact, exactly what Bell wanted. He'd love for this situation to continue for as long as possible.
However, things don't always go as Bell hopes. Having suffered serious injuries and realizing that he couldn't break through the opponent's defenses, Kama Itachi decided to retreat.
Risking being hit, the Kama Itachi leaped high into the air, leaping out of the dense fog.
After confirming its direction, the Kama Itachi, which had fallen back into the thick fog, ran quickly toward the edge of the battlefield without looking back.
It's remembered this grudge. Just wait, it will surely return to savor that little girl's sweet flesh and blood!
Filled with anticipation for the future, the Kama Itachi ran faster and faster. Soon, it was out of the mist's reach.
Looking at the deep, dark city under the night sky, a sense of freedom, like a fish returning to the sea, washed over the Kama Itachi, making it want to cheer out loud.
Acting on impulse—that's been its treacherous path all along.
"Aww..."
"Where do you think you're going, you little rascal!"
Suddenly, a hand gripped the Kama Itachi's neck tightly, silencing its joyful celebration of freedom.
