Of course, Bell didn't know that 100 million was Bei Cun's bottom line.

But being the simple man he is, he genuinely felt that buying these precious ancient books for 100 million was already a very good deal. So he was too embarrassed to continue haggling.

"Alright, one hundred million it is. However, I need your memories as a bonus."

Bell said.

"My memories!?"

Upon hearing Bell's request, Bei Cun was startled.

He quickly took two steps back, his whole body tense, watching Bell warily.

Could it be that he encountered one of those legendary, corrupt Onmyoji who consort with evil spirits today?

"Don't misunderstand, I meant no harm."

Seeing Bei Cun startled by his own words, Bell quickly tried to explain.

"Actually, it's like this. I don't understand ancient Japanese, so I hope you can sell me your related memories as a bonus. Don't worry, it won't cause you any harm."

For the sake of these precious ancient books, Bell had to slightly relinquish some of his imposing manner.

Hearing Bell's explanation, Bei Cun relaxed a little.

However, he had no intention of letting the other party extract his memories. Who knew if they might tamper with his memories? It wasn't impossible that they might even use the opportunity to kill and rob him!

"Sorry, I don't intend to sell my memories. 100 million Japanese Yen. If you agree, then pay up. If not, then forget it. No freebies."

Bei Cun said firmly.

"Alright. I'm not the kind of person who forces people to do things against their will. Since you don't intend to give away your memories, then..."

Stunning Spell.

A Stunning Spell shot out from Bell's toes, traveling along the ground and subtly striking Bei Cun.

Bei Cun collapsed to the ground before he could even react.

"I'll just get it myself."

The Wand slipped from his sleeve, and Bell strolled over to Bei Cun's side.

He raised his Wand.

Stunning Spell.

Another Stunning Spell struck Bei Cun.

To ensure the Curses's stealth, the initial Stunning Spell wasn't very powerful. Furthermore, Bell was Wandless Magic. Therefore, just to be safe, Bell cast another Stunning Spell on Bei Cun.

After making sure that Bei Cun was absolutely unlikely to wake up anytime soon, Bell knelt down and pressed his Wand against Bei Cun's temple.

Using the Legilimency, Bell found Bei Cun's memories related to Onmyodo and made a copy of them.

Searching for memories was no easy task. To ensure nothing was missed, Bell traced Bei Cun's memories back to his infancy. This took him nearly an hour.

Because it took so long, Bell had to answer a call from her mother in the middle of the trip to tell them they didn't have to wait for her to eat.

As a model Five-Good Youth of the 20th century (although Bell himself didn't know what the five qualities were), Bell was very self-disciplined and did not take away any other unrelated memories.

Then, Bell used the Memory Charm to modify some of the other person's less harmonious memories.

Standing up, Bell stretched her legs, which were a little numb from squatting for too long, and gently flicked her Wand upwards, controlling Bei Cun's body to stand up.

"Revival Spell!"

After casting the Revival Spell, Bell quickly put away his Wand before Bei Cun could open his eyes.

"Mr. Bei Cun, are you alright?"

Bell asked, feigning concern.

Bei Cun stumbled and almost fell to the ground.

After regaining his balance, Bei Cun rubbed his forehead, looking somewhat puzzled.

What happened to him just now? Why does he feel like he's forgotten something important?

"Uh, no, it's nothing. I probably just didn't sleep well last night."

Shaking his head, Bei Cun, unable to recall what he had forgotten, put this unimportant matter aside for the time being.

There's a big deal waiting for him.

"How about it? One hundred million. If you agree, we'll exchange the money for the goods."

"Alright, 100 million Japanese Yen, deal."

As he spoke, Bell took a box out of his pocket and tossed it to Bei Cun.

"There are 80 million Japanese Yen inside. You can count them."

Bei Cun eagerly opened the box.

Looking at the neatly stacked piles of Japanese yen inside the box, Bei Cun trembled with excitement.

"We're still short 20 million?"

After quickly scanning the list and confirming that the amount should be correct, Bei Cun tried to suppress his excitement and asked Bell for the remaining 20 million.

He removed the bracelet from his right wrist. A flash of magical light appeared and then disappeared. Bell erased the settings on the bracelet, returning it to its ownerless state.

Bell tossed the bracelet to Bei Cun and said, "I don't have any cash on me anymore, so I'll use this to cover the remaining 20 million."

Bei Cun took the bracelet and examined it curiously.

What kind of bracelet could be worth 20 million?

Bei Cun suspected that Bell was trying to fool him.

"What's the use of this?"

Bei Cun could indeed sense a considerable amount of magical energy emanating from the bracelet in his hand. However, having seen few Cursed Tool, he couldn't discern the bracelet's function based on this alone.

Bell didn't answer Bei Cun's question. He raised his right foot and gently stomped it on the ground.

Four Earth Spike pierced out from the four directions of Bei Cun.

"Damn it! They've struck first!"

Bei Cun thought with horror.

Then, just as Bei Cun was resigned to his fate, the bracelet in his hand suddenly emitted a powerful surge of magical energy.

A semi-transparent shield enveloped Bei Cun. The Earth Spike shattered upon impact with the shield.

"How about we use this to offset the price difference?"

"Bell asked."

Bei Cun nodded, still shaken. His earlier intention to belittle the bracelet, and even his more unspeakable thought, vanished in an instant.

"Since there are no problems, let's part ways here."

Bell waved his hand, gathering up the several boxes filled with books that were on the ground.

"Oh, by the way, here, take this. If you find anything good in the future, you can use it to contact me. The price will satisfy you."

Bell took out a Personal Terminal and tossed it to Bei Cun. He also wrote down some simple instructions on a piece of paper and handed it to him.

The Shield Charm Bracelet that Bell gave to Bei Cun is definitely worth over 20 million yen. Bell himself doesn't know the exact price in Japanese Yen.

After all, it's a high-quality magical item that Bell carries with him, and it's not something you can just buy with money under normal circumstances.

Bell was a little heartbroken to give it to Bei Cun like that.

However, Bell is not someone who can do whatever he wants just because of his strength. So even though he felt a little bad about it, he never thought of skipping out on the bill.

What? You're asking about his past behavior?

That was merely a small punishment for Bei Cun's treacherous schemes. Bell saw it all clearly in Bei Cun's mind.

It does seem a bit like getting on the train first and buying the ticket later...

As Bell vanished from sight in an instant, Bei Cun collapsed to the ground. A belated cold sweat quickly soaked his clothes.

Bei Cun vowed that he would never do business with these dangerous foreigners again!

... Unless you pay more!
