Returned Home
Even in the bustling, vibrant Central London, there are always some little-known, dark corners that inevitably exist.
In this secluded, dark corner, suddenly, a ripple appeared in the space, and a man wearing a dark gray trench coat with a hood covering the upper half of his face appeared.
Emerging from the dark, narrow alley, Bell looked around.
Then... he wanted to go back...
Bell couldn't remember the last time he had been to such a crowded place.
Due to the limited number of wizards, Diagon Alley, even at its busiest, is actually not that great.
However, even though his inner otaku was screaming for Bell to leave this noisy place, he had serious business to attend to today. So, Bell could only barely suppress his instincts.
After casting a simple Muggle Repelling Charm on himself, Bell walked toward a building not far away.
Bell certainly didn't want to attract attention. After all, in the sweltering heat of August, Bell was truly the only one wearing a long trench coat and a hood.
It's August 1st now, and it's the second day since Bell returned home.
Yesterday afternoon, after Shanna woke up, the Bell family said goodbye to the Yomi.
After routinely gifting Yomi a Personal Terminal, the family used the Portkey to return to Britain.
Unlike when going abroad, when returning home, as long as you inform the Ministry of Magic in advance and obtain a Portkey that allows you to return to the Ministry of Magic from any location, you can instantly return home.
Of course, if it's within the range of a powerful array or barrier, like in China, the teleportation of the Portkey will be interrupted. A careless mistake could even lead to death.
In fact, Bell was against using Portkey to return to his home country.
As is well known, the longer the distance of spatial movement, the stronger the spatial compression that the mover needs to endure.
To date, the farthest distance Bell has traveled using Side-Along Apparition is only from Hogwarts back home.
God knows how much pressure it takes to travel halfway around the world, from Japan directly back to the Britain using Portkey.
Bell himself doesn't care, but what if Shanna can't stand it?
However, Bell's suggestion to "return to Britain by cruise ship" was met with unanimous opposition from his parents and was ultimately rejected.
It's been a month since they left, and all sorts of things at home must be piling up. William and Elena really don't have time for a leisurely cruise anymore.
Fortunately, thanks to the fact that she has been using Magic Power Enhanced Body since childhood without interruption, Shanna has not shown any obvious discomfort.
William and Elena, who had previously been a staunch advocate for using the Portkey, were pale and weak, and it took them a long time to recover.
Bringing his thoughts back, Bell looked up and surveyed the building in front of him.
The building was built at Bell's suggestion and has 10 floors.
Bell didn't know what was going on in those 10 floors, he hadn't asked his father, and he didn't care.
The above-ground portion of this building was merely a facade. It was Bell who persuaded his father to construct such a large structure in order to conceal the true nature of the building within the forest. Otherwise, William intended to build only a small shop similar to the Leaky Cauldron.
Stepping through the gate and watching the Muggle coming and going, Bell was genuinely curious. What exactly had his father, Muggle knew nothing about, used this building for?
Suppressing his curiosity, there's no time for Bell to explore today.
In the lobby on the first floor, there are two elevators directly opposite the main entrance.
Bell walked through the crowd waiting for the elevator, headed straight for the wall between the two elevators, and passed through it without stopping.
Behind the wall was another elevator car. However, unlike a regular elevator car, this one had no buttons.
"Hello, please verify."
After about 3 seconds, an electronic voice sounded in the elevator car.
With a series of Transfiguration sounds, the top of the elevator car opened, and a device resembling Personal Terminal fell down.
Looking at the device that floated in front of him, Bell raised his right hand, placed his palm on it, and infused it with a little magic.
Soon, a green light appeared on the instrument's screen.
"Verification successful. Welcome, Mr. Bell Menethil."
The electronic voice sounded again, and the instrument floated back to the top of the elevator car.
Without any warning, the wall beneath Bell's feet vanished. He plummeted downwards.
By infusing magic into his Flying Shoes, Bell controlled his descent speed.
After falling for about 100 meters, it finally left the passage and landed in a large hall.
The hall is circular and contains some tables and chairs.
On one side of the hall stood a massive, heavy steel door. Two wizards stood before it, pointing their Wand at Bell.
Ignoring their seemingly imminent attack, Bell walked briskly toward them.
Reaching the two men, Bell pulled a badge from his pocket and tossed it to one of the wizards.
The wizard used magic to catch the badge, carefully examined it for a while, and only after confirming that there was no danger did he take the badge in his hand.
The badge is a circle about 5 centimeters in diameter, with a light blue longsword engraved on it.
The hilt of the longsword is decorated with the skull of a two-horned demon. The rear half of the blade has some ferocious barbs. The blade is also engraved with some complex runes.
At first glance, this longsword gives off an evil and mysterious feeling.
To be honest, Jack didn't know why his Young Master had designed the badge with such an evil-looking design. Based on the limited information he had, Young Master Bell should be a pretty easygoing person, right?
Jack, unable to understand it, could only attribute it to the quirky tastes of youth. After all, the sword did look quite cool.
After lightly touching the eyes of the two-horned demon skull with the Wand, a pale blue light shone from the skull's eyes as magic was poured in.
Then, one by one, the runes on the sword lit up. A chilling aura, seemingly capable of freezing the soul, emanated from the emblem.
Seeing the change on the badge, Jack and his companions quickly put down their Wand.
After returning the badge to Bell, the two bowed respectfully to Bell.
"Welcome, Young Master Bell. Please forgive my rudeness."
"Yes, you did a great job. Your salary will be doubled this month."
Bell waved casually, indicating that he didn't mind.
This procedure was originally set by Bell himself. He was very satisfied with the two who strictly followed the rules, so why would he blame them?
