The Enthusiastic, Kind-Hearted, Greedy Bell
Walking through the corridors of Hogwarts, you can hear the excited chatter of Little Wizard everywhere.
Even though half a month has passed, it is still not enough to diminish people's gossip.
Harry's capture of Sirius Black made the front page of the Daily Prophet on Christmas morning.
Incidentally, the second point is, "Is Fudge's decision to let Black escape again due to incompetence, or is there another reason?"
It is said that when Fudge saw this issue of the newspaper, he smashed everything in his office, including everything that could be smashed and everything that couldn't be smashed.
Of course, no one really cared about Fudge; people were more amazed that the Boy Who Lived was able to defeat the Dark Lord's capable subordinate at only the third grade.
For this, Harry, his two friends, and their companions not only received the Hogwarts Special Contribution Award, but some even suggested that Harry should be awarded the Order of Merlin, Second Class.
However, the awarding of the Order of Merlin is not something that can be decided simply, so it is still under discussion.
'Knock knock~'
Bell knocked on the door. After receiving a "come in" from inside, he opened the door and entered the room.
"Hello, Professor Lupin."
Bell bowed in greeting.
"Mr. Menethil? What brings you here?"
Sitting behind his desk, Lupin looked at Bell with surprise.
This is truly a rare guest.
"Yes, Professor. I would like to ask you some questions, some questions about... Sirius Black."
Bell clearly saw Lupin stiffen when he said Black's name, then quickly relax.
Upon seeing this, Bell smiled.
It's confirmed!
"I'm sorry, Mr. Menethil, I don't know much about Black either."
Lupin said casually.
However, he had already become wary of Bell. He planned to be more careful and minimize contact with him from now on.
"Don't say that, Professor. And you can just call me Bell."
Bell pulled up a chair and plopped down in front of Lupin, completely ignoring the latter's attempt to get rid of him.
"I don't think anyone would risk their life to save a complete stranger. What do you say, Professor Lupin the Werewolf?"
Lupin was startled. He'd been exposed!
However, before Lupin could take any action, Bell continued:
"I don't recommend that you take action here. Not to brag, but I believe I can hold you off for a while."
If the sounds of battle attract other people, you'll probably spend the rest of your life in Azkaban.
"..."
Lupin's hand, which had been reaching for his Wand, froze at his waist. Only then did he realize that this was not a good place to make a move.
If it were any other Little Wizard, it wouldn't matter; Lupin was confident he could subdue them instantly.
However, even with only a rough understanding of Bell, Lupin wouldn't naively assume that Bell was on the same level as the other Little Wizard.
What is your purpose?
Once Lupin calmed down, he also realized the abnormality in Bell's behavior.
Normally, if a Little Wizard discovers his identity, he should notify the Ministry of Magic immediately.
Since Bell didn't do that, and even came to him openly and made the matter clear, it means that the other party must have other intentions.
"Relax, Professor Lupin, you don't need to be so wary. I'm here today to offer you assistance."
That's right, Bell is here to help Sirius.
However, these days, even good people need to make a living. He took a huge risk to help Black, so it's only natural that Black would repay him in kind, right?
It's important to know that the Black Family is one of the oldest wizarding families in the British Wizarding World. Their wealth far surpasses that of the Menethil Family.
He wiped his mouth, and Bell almost drooled.
"Help? We appreciate your kindness, but we don't need any help."
Lupin decisively rejected Bell's "kind offer".
Although he had never heard of the saying "a weasel paying respects to a chicken," he didn't believe that good things would fall from the sky.
He must be a fool to believe that the other party would kindly help a Wanted Criminal and a Werewolf, since they have no relatives or friends with each other.
"Don't say that, Professor. You should know that the Menethil Family still has some influence in the Magical World. With our family's help, your lives will be much more comfortable."
Bell stared into Lupin's eyes with a half-smile. This gave Lupin an awkward feeling of being seen through.
"You can represent the Menethil Family? And why are you helping us? Black is Wanted Criminal, Death Eater."
"Could it be that your Menethil Family is also a supporter of the Dark Lord?!"
At this point, Lupin suddenly felt a shiver run down his spine.
Even he knew that the Menethil Family's power had grown very rapidly in recent years.
If such a family is a secret supporter of the Dark Lord, then the British Wizarding World is in danger!
No! We must tell Professor Dumbledore about this immediately!
"Of course I can represent the Menethil Family, you can rest assured of that. Besides, that lunatic Voldemort is not qualified to have our family's support."
Hearing Bell call the Dark Lord by his name, Lupin couldn't help but shudder.
He stared at Bell in disbelief. Bell was only the third person he had ever seen to dare call the Dark Lord by name. Lupin didn't know whether to praise Bell for his courage or his arrogance.
"Ahem, as you know, I am a student at Ravenclaw, and I have an extraordinary passion for magical knowledge. Therefore, if possible, I would like to borrow some of the Black Family's treasures."
Honestly, Bell didn't intend to be so blunt. It's all Lupin's fault for being so dense; he couldn't grasp his subtlety.
Bell was determined to acquire the Black Family's treasures. Of course, as a peace-loving person, Bell always tried to win people over with virtue... perhaps?
"I have no say in matters concerning the Black Family's collection."
Lupin said honestly.
Upon hearing this, Bell rolled his eyes speechlessly. He knew, of course, that Lupin couldn't make the decision.
Lupin was just a tool; Bell talked to Lupin so much simply because he found it troublesome.
To obtain the Black Family's treasures, Bell must speak directly with Black.
While it's not impossible to search for Black's whereabouts using Magical Satellite, who knows which country Black's hiding in? That method would be far too time-consuming and labor-intensive. With manpower scarce, Bell isn't about to do something so thankless and exhausting.
The remaining, and simplest, method is to contact Black through Lupin.
Standing up, Bell took a Personal Terminal out of his pocket and placed it on Lupin's desk.
"My contact information is stored here. I hope you can give it to Mr. Black so I can communicate with him directly."
Also, please rest assured that no tracking software is installed here.
After saying that, Bell turned and walked out of Lupin's office.
He was a little tired after talking so much with Lupin and didn't want to say anything more to him.
