The Coldhearted
"Ugh~ This is so troublesome, it hurts so much! I'll help, I'll help, okay?"
"Snort!"
Hermione released her grip on Bell's soft waist and gently rubbed it tenderly for her boyfriend.
Even Hermione herself didn't realize that she was trusting Bell more and more.
After Bell agreed to help, Hermione instinctively assumed Buckbeak was saved. She didn't even consider the possibility that Bell might fail.
Bell lowered his head in thought. Although he had promised Hermione he would help, how to help was another question.
Actually, Buckbeak's incident, while not insignificant, is really not a big deal either.
If Bell asks his father for help, the problem can likely be solved quickly.
However, he did not want to do that.
He wasn't that familiar with Hagrid, and he had never had any contact with that Hippogriff named Buckbeak.
Therefore, Bell didn't want to bother her father with these trivial matters of outsiders; her father was already busy enough.
So, there's only one way left that Bell can solve the problem on his own.
Hermione became a little nervous when she saw Bell suddenly fall silent. Could it be that her request was too unreasonable and had angered Bell?
Just as Hermione was about to apologize, Bell made a decision.
"The solution I can think of right now is to have Hagrid hand over Buckbeak to me."
After Buckbeak became my private property, it was no longer something the Malfoy family could do with as they pleased.
But this method depends on whether Hagrid agrees.
Hermione secretly breathed a sigh of relief when she found that Bell wasn't angry with her.
Then she nodded. Since she wasn't entirely clear on the intricacies of the situation, she didn't intend to interfere with Bell's decision.
Furthermore, she didn't see anything wrong with Bell's methods. She believed Bell would be able to take good care of Buckbeak. And she would help him.
"Professor Hagrid will definitely agree!"
After all, Professor Hagrid likes Buckbeak so much. Now that they're offering to help, there's absolutely no reason for Professor Hagrid to refuse.
Bell shrugged, neither commenting nor admitting anything about his girlfriend's blind self-confidence.
After a long and incredibly boring Care of Magical Creatures, Hermione walked dejectedly back to the castle, a stark contrast to her earlier high spirits.
"Why? Why would Professor Hagrid refuse?"
Hermione looked like she was questioning the meaning of life.
As soon as class ended, Hermione eagerly pulled Bell to stand in front of Hagrid.
However, after she excitedly told Hagrid about Bell's solution, Hagrid rejected it without hesitation.
In fact, Bell was not surprised at all by Hagrid's rejection.
As mentioned before, he and Hagrid weren't close. Similarly, Hagrid didn't know much about him.
Therefore, it was perfectly normal for Hagrid to refuse to hand Buckbeak over to Bell.
Not to mention, at this point, Hagrid didn't actually believe he would lose the case. After all, everyone had witnessed Malfoy being injured by the Curses that had bounced back from him.
"Alright, Hermione, since Professor Hagrid has refused, let's just leave it at that."
Bell put his arm around Hermione's waist, using the pretense of comforting her as an excuse to take advantage of her.
Hermione rolled her eyes at Bell, but didn't remove Bell hand.
She actually enjoyed this close contact with Bell. It was just that she was shy, which is why she sometimes showed resistance.
"But, Buckbeak..."
"Don't worry, don't forget, Hagrid and Dumbledore are very close. If Dumbledore helps, Buckbeak will definitely be fine."
However, what Bell didn't say was that he didn't believe Dumbledore would help at all.
It's worth noting that last year, because of the Basilisk's rampage at Hogwarts, Hagrid was suspected and even taken to Azkaban for a few days. Dumbledore didn't take any action; he just watched coldly from the sidelines.
Don't say that Dumbledore was relieved of his position as headmaster.
Even though he is no longer the headmaster of Hogwarts, Dumbledore remains the president of the International Confederation of Wizards and the Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot.
If he really wants to protect Hagrid, no one can do anything to Hagrid without any substantial evidence.
Even if we take a step back and find Hagrid a different place to be detained, it shouldn't be too difficult, right?
Therefore, since Dumbledore didn't even bother with Hagrid, his most trusted confidant, he was even less likely to bother with a Hippogriff that appeared out of nowhere.
Even if this were just a matter of a word for Dumbledore.
Thinking about this, Bell suddenly realized that he and Dumbledore were quite similar. They were both very... cold.
However, Bell was much luckier than Dumbledore.
He has a happy family, and this happiness will last forever!
"It's a professor!"
Hermione glared at her boyfriend with displeasure.
She's corrected Bell countless times, but Bell still occasionally forgets to add honorifics.
Honestly, it seems she'll have to stay by Bell's side and keep an eye on him from now on.
As time went by, even though Hermione was still somewhat worried about Buckbeak, there was nothing Hermione could do since Professor Hagrid had rejected their offer.
It's worth mentioning that just two days ago, Gryffindor and Ravenclaw had a Quidditch Match. Harry somehow got hold of a Firebolt, causing the match to end very early.
Gryffindor won an overwhelming victory!
Although she felt a little guilty towards her boyfriend, Hermione was genuinely happy that Gryffindor had managed to defeat Ravenclaw.
She tried hard to suppress her cheers and didn't join the other Little Lions.
In stark contrast to Hermione, Shanna felt the same way.
The little girl is very unhappy!
You see, Shanna was really looking forward to the Quidditch Match at Hogwarts.
In the last match, the team members underperformed due to the heavy rain, which Shanna reluctantly accepted.
But this time, the weather was so nice, the sun was so bright, hanging right in the center of the sky. Yet, before she even had a chance to eat a few bites of her snacks, the competition was over!?
And most importantly, the losing side was none other than his own Gege's Ravenclaw?
This is something an uncle can tolerate, but she doesn't have an uncle!
If Hermione, Phyllis, and Lena hadn't held her back, Shanna, feeling wronged for her Gege, would have stormed onto the field and burned Harry's shabby broom to ashes.
Just thinking about that chaotic scene makes Bell want to laugh. Hermione and the other two girls' expressions were absolutely hilarious!
However, because Bell was watching the show and didn't help persuade Shanna, he was later blamed by Hermione for a long time.
