Bargaining
Sure enough, a little kid is a little kid. No matter how mature they act normally, they'll still show their true colors when it really matters.
While it's true that scarcity increases value, there's always a limit to how expensive something can be.
Just because you accidentally obtained a piece of magical metal from Mars, do you think it's some kind of rare treasure, something that can't be found anywhere better in the world?
Not to mention, Snape studies the esoteric Potions, what use would a lump of metal be to him!
"Of course, I certainly don't think that such a small piece of Arcanite can be exchanged for all your knowledge of Potions."
But you need to know where Arcanite comes from.
It comes from the universe. That mysterious, vast universe.
Now that we can find this precious magical metal in the universe, who can say that we won't find other precious magical materials in the universe in the future?
And some of the materials among them can be used to make Potions, so it's probably not surprising, right?
Therefore, what I want to trade with you are these materials that will appear in the future.
I promise you that if you diligently impart all your knowledge to Shanna, you will receive a share of all the magical materials the Menethil Family acquires in the future.
Before Snape mentioned it, Bell hadn't even realized it and almost overlooked the fact that there was such a great treasure in Hogwarts.
After Snape brought it up, Bell certainly wouldn't let go of this opportunity that could greatly improve his sister's career.
No matter what means he uses, Bell is determined to obtain Snape's knowledge of Potions!
Snape's eyes widened in shock as he stared at Bell.
To be honest, he was tempted.
Although he didn't know the specific details of the Menethil Family's space exploration mission, he instinctively felt that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
However, as the saying goes, "asking for an exorbitant price and then settling for a bargain," given Bell's despicable attitude, he had to raise the price even further.
"Hmph! You think you can trade with me for something that's completely fabricated? What if you end up with nothing? Wouldn't I have given you all my knowledge for nothing?"
"No, no, Professor, it's precisely because it's something completely fictitious that I'm making this deal with you."
As a master of Potions, I think you should be well aware of how precious it would be if we obtained unprecedented magical materials from the universe.
It's not impossible to completely overturn the existing concepts of magic.
When that time really comes, it won't be something you can buy at this price.
Take the current Arcanite as an example. If we were to use this magical metal, which is unprecedented in the Magical World, to exchange some of the knowledge of some Alchemy Master, I believe many people would be willing to make the exchange.
In fact, at Bell's suggestion, William reluctantly suppressed his idea of selling the Arcanite for money and is now contacting renowned Alchemy Master from various countries, intending to exchange their valuable Alchemy knowledge.
While Bell's teacher, Nicolas, was undoubtedly the world's greatest Alchemy, it doesn't mean that other people's Alchemy had no merits.
Some unique discoveries and insights may seem insignificant on their own, but when put together, who knows what kind of chain reaction will occur?
Not much is needed; as long as it can provide Bell with even a little inspiration, then those Arcanite that were traded away can be considered worthwhile.
"... Are you capable of making that decision?"
Snape questioned.
If what Bell said is true, then this deal cannot be measured in Galleon at all.
Even though Snape was arrogant, he was still self-aware.
No matter how valuable his Potions knowledge may be, to be honest, it's possible to acquire it if one is willing to spend the time and money.
"Of course. You know that, don't you?"
Over the years, Snape and William had quite a few private exchanges. These included, but were not limited to, asking for materials from the Basilisk, the Acromantula, and the Kraken (the Giant Squid).
And each time, William would shift the blame to Bell.
Unfortunately, although their relationship wasn't particularly close, there was still some face involved, so William really couldn't refuse Snape.
But if he sold it to Snape, he was afraid his son would resent him.
After all, these things were all earned through his son's hard work. If they had any important uses but were traded to Snape, how would he explain it later?
Thus, through these events, Snape came to realize the immense power Bell wielded.
To be honest, even now, Snape still can't understand what William is thinking.
Aren't you afraid that in the blink of an eye, that brat Bell will squander the entire Menethil Family fortune?
(William: "Of course I'm scared! How could I not be? The problem is, even if I'm scared, I can't stop it!")
Just as Snape was silently weighing the pros and cons, the classroom door was pushed open, and several Little Wizard walked in one after another.
Seeing that other people had arrived and the deal could not continue for the time being, Bell lowered his voice and whispered in a voice that only Snape could hear:
"You can go back and think about it slowly, but I hope to get a reply within this week."
If he doesn't get a positive response this week, then Bell will have to think of other ways to make his younger sister's magical journey smoother.
Ahem, don't get me wrong, Bell wasn't thinking about anything bad.
As a law-abiding and exemplary young person of the new era, Bell never does anything illegal or disorderly!
His so-called other methods were nothing more than finding other bargaining chips.
After all, Snape is the number one sycophant in the British Wizarding World, everyone knows that.
So finding some bargaining chips that Snape couldn't refuse wasn't easy, but it wasn't actually that difficult either.
People like Harry, Harry's mother, Voldemort, etc., there's always something that can make Snape's heart flutter.
If all else fails, Bell can grit his teeth and sell Sirius Black to Snape.
He didn't believe Snape could resist the temptation of taking revenge himself!
What? You're saying Sirius isn't the real culprit?
Haha, go tell that to Snape and see if he believes it. Or rather, whether he'll even care?
As for the agreement with Sirius?
For the sake of his younger sister, Bell couldn't care less about anything else!
At worst, he can burn a few more stacks of paper money at Sirius's grave and, while he's at it, take good care of Harry as compensation.
Snape glared at the Little Wizard who had just entered, Snape turned and walked back to the podium. The poor little ones were left standing at the doorway, looking at each other, too afraid to come in or leave.
