History

Arrival at the Amusement Park

Inukai initially approached the Amusement Park at a leisurely pace, confident that his Five-Star Guardian God would make other contestants easy to handle. He did not know that Neon’s commentators had already participated in an attack on Himeko. After exhausting himself pushing his handcart, he reached the entrance and received their urgent communication request 7 12.

The commentators explained Himeko’s strength and advised him to seek her protection rather than confront her. Inukai agreed, reasoning that her reputation could also deter other contestants. Upon entering the park, however, he received a special mission to kill at least three contestants 13.

Mission requirement Offered rewards Documented outcome
Kill at least three contestants in the Amusement Park One guardian deity draw, two train upgrades, one additional skill draw, and one level for the Nine-Tailed Fox Only one kill was documented: a contestant who attacked him with a kitchen knife. Completion was not shown 13 43.

The park’s corpses made Inukai vomit, but he survived an ensuing ambush with the Nine-Tailed Fox’s help and took his attacker’s knife. He then entered the Wax Museum to find Himeko. Fear of attracting monsters prevented him from calling out, and his cautious search continued even after she had left 13 15.

The Wax Museum’s Hidden Quest

Hunted by his own wax double, Inukai encountered Duncan and joined him. The pair stumbled into a darkroom while fleeing and accepted a hidden quest whose rewards included a guardian deity. They remained in the museum despite their increasingly powerful pursuers 25 37 39 40.

After Himeko defeated the wax doubles, she found and questioned the two contestants. Inukai and Duncan interpreted her offer not to force information from them as a veiled threat and planned to mislead her. Inukai also offered Himeko his allegiance if she helped complete his contestant-killing mission; she refused to harm others for his benefit 38 39 40.

Despite his earlier intentions, Inukai freely shared his clue that seventeen visitors wore glasses. When Duncan’s deception triggered a confrontation, Taco restrained both Inukai and the Nine-Tailed Fox. Himeko subsequently ordered their release 41 42.

Transformation and Death

When Himeko warned the group to leave before the park’s monster emerged, Inukai refused. Having spent nearly all his time on the hidden quest, he could not accept leaving without its rewards. He suspected Himeko wanted to monopolize them and privately considered attacking her during the coming battle 43.

After midnight, the transformed park’s emotional influence intensified his resentment. A whispering voice encouraged him to surpass Himeko by absorbing the park’s organs. He followed its instructions, gathering displaced emotions until the visitors’ feelings flooded his body and a foreign consciousness began wearing away his memories 44 45.

The instance identified the transformed Inukai as a Danger Level 6 hidden monster and offered a reward for killing him. Himeko’s ordinary attacks could not overcome his defenses and regeneration, so she used Long Tone of the Distant Horizon. Its manifested Trailblaze train struck through his chest and killed him 45 46.

Neon’s commentators later debated resurrecting him or choosing a replacement. Unable to agree, they accepted a proposal to decide by coin flip; the result was not shown at that time 47. His subsequent return confirmed that Neon had chosen to resurrect him 75 77.

Resurrection and Cybernetic Reconstruction

After resurrection, Inukai found that both his Nine-Tailed Fox and handcart remained with him. He also retained extraordinary physical power from his transformation. A test punch cracked the road, and his organs released immense blood energy. Although weaker than his former monster form, this power no longer carried the competing wills and souls of the park’s visitors 75.

Soon afterward, a humanoid missile with eyes, arms, and legs pursued him for twenty kilometers into Los Angeles. When he could no longer escape, Inukai took its explosion head-on. His enhanced body prevented his immediate destruction, but he suffered severe burns and collapsed 75.

Company personnel discovered him, and President Yamada arranged his treatment. Necrotic body parts were replaced with Cybernetic Implants, and Inukai received the most advanced available Brain-Computer Interface, capable of supporting three chips. He awoke with flesh-colored outer armor, clearer vision, and improved information processing, then met Yamada 75.

Service Under Yamada

Information transmitted directly into his mind initially alarmed Inukai because it resembled the Amusement Park’s intrusion into his consciousness. Nevertheless, he accepted the Scavenger quest and Yamada’s proposal to eliminate other Contestants. When he tried to negotiate additional compensation, Yamada remotely inflicted agonizing pain and made clear that Inukai had no choice but to obey 76.

Mission Requirement Reward structure
Scavenger Kill Contestants from other countries A random reward for each kill, with greater rewards for stronger enemies 76

Inukai joined the Mobile Unit and gained deployment authority. His actions caused other Contestants to be declared wanted, with the intention of keeping Himeko occupied while he hunted less powerful targets. He became temporary commander of a local unit and worked alongside the heavily modified soldier Bastion 77 79.

Using Yamada’s permissions and his advanced interface, Inukai accessed the Mobile Team Captain’s visual feed and discovered Washana under the captain’s protection. Although he recognized the captain’s strength, he expected the President’s authority to force him to surrender her. He ultimately prioritized hunting other Contestants and ordered a citywide search. His exploration progress had reached 44% 79 80.

Defeat in the Alley

Inukai located Taco hiding in a trash can and ordered Mobile Unit personnel to restrain him. Shut Up intervened, prompting Inukai to send Bastion against the robot and then order the remaining unit members to assist 84 85.

Taco attempted to attack Inukai directly while the others were occupied, but Inukai kicked him back into the trash can. Taco’s Smart Glasses identified Inukai as a level-nine threat. Inukai then struck him with a powerful electrical discharge. Despite this advantage over Taco, Shut Up incapacitated most of the unit and crushed Bastion to death 85.

The Mobile Team Captain arrived with Washana and rejected Inukai’s appeal to Yamada’s authority. He defeated Inukai in a few exchanges, then repeatedly kicked him toward Shut Up, who threw him back. Himeko and her companions arrived during the beating 86.

Inukai finally activated thrusters in his legs and fled. When Himechi Cat called for Dan Heng to shoot him down, Yamada intervened through the Brain-Computer Interfaces of those present, taking control of the Mobile Team Captain and turning him against Dan Heng 86 92. Yamada subsequently described Inukai as both company property and his personal property, as well as an essential component of his next plan 88.

Final Hunt and Confrontation with Dan Heng

After escaping to a cybernetic implant hospital, Inukai wanted to hide until he had enough exploration progress to leave. He no longer considered rewards worth risking another death, since he could not be certain Neon would resurrect him again. Yamada nevertheless approached him and encouraged him to continue killing other Contestants 92.

Himeko’s group later identified Inukai’s unconcealed movements as bait, contrasting them with Amir’s secretive activity. They divided their forces, assigning Dan Heng to Inukai while Himeko pursued Amir 95 96.

At Yamada’s private bar, Inukai prepared to resume hunting with an assortment of weapons supplied by Yamada. Their conversation indicated that he had already killed multiple outsiders in Los Angeles, though Yamada described the next victim as his eleventh while Inukai called the intended kill his twelfth. Inukai insisted that he would leave as soon as possible regardless of Yamada’s objectives 96.

Before he could depart, Dan Heng attacked through the doorway. Inukai barely dodged the spear thrust and retreated in terror. Dan Heng revealed that String Bean had intercepted his network signals, preventing him from receiving outside information. Inukai repeatedly called for Yamada, but received no reply; Dan Heng concluded that Yamada had abandoned him 96 97.

Appearance

  • Human form: Taco described him as having a frail build 42.
  • Monster form: His limbs could no longer support his body, forcing him to move using newly grown fleshy tendrils. His five internal organs were as tall as houses and covered in struggling human faces 45.
  • Distinguishing mutations: Countless shifting faces covered his own face, and nine multicolored lengths of intestine extended behind him as tails 45.
  • Cybernetically reconstructed form: Following his missile injuries, his charred skin was replaced or repaired, and flesh-colored outer armor covered his reconstructed body. His legs contained concealed thrusters 75 86.

Personality

Inukai’s early confidence depended heavily on possessing a Five-Star Guardian God. Actual danger made him considerably more cautious: he avoided shouting inside the Wax Museum and sought Himeko as a protector. He nevertheless doubted Duncan’s claim that Himechi Cat controlled her, showing that he did not simply accept everything his companion said 7 15 39.

He treated cooperation as an investment, expecting his promised allegiance to justify Himeko helping him kill other contestants. Her refusal and perceived superiority fed his resentment. His inability to abandon the hidden quest’s rewards ultimately outweighed explicit warnings about his survival, making him vulnerable to the park’s manipulation 40 42 43 44.

Resurrection did not immediately end his opportunism. He attributed his earlier defeat partly to inadequate intelligence and tried to bargain with Yamada for greater benefits. Once supported by the President’s authority, he behaved arrogantly toward others and assumed the Mobile Team Captain would sacrifice Washana rather than endanger his position 76 79 86.

His attitude toward Himeko nevertheless changed substantially. Rather than seek another direct confrontation, he planned to strengthen himself against weaker opponents and then leave. After the alley defeat, he explicitly prioritized survival over further rewards, acknowledging that a second resurrection was not guaranteed 80 92.

Abilities & Skills

Enhanced Physique

  • Had substantially improved fitness and reflexes before entering the Wax Museum 13.
  • Still lacked the strength to resist Taco’s restraint, even with the Nine-Tailed Fox present 41 42.
  • After resurrection, retained enough strength to crack a road with one punch and enough endurance to flee a pursuing missile for twenty kilometers 75.
  • Survived a direct missile explosion through his exceptional bodily toughness, though he sustained severe burns requiring extensive reconstruction 75.

Nine-Tailed Fox

  • Possessed exceptional strength relative to its small size, which did not reach Inukai’s calves 13.
  • Could actively inflict mental interference and fire blasts from its mouth 13.
  • Could merge into Inukai to enhance all his abilities 44.
  • Returned with him after resurrection and could still possess him to amplify his retained monster-derived strength 75.

Emotional Amalgamation

  • Absorbed the visitors’ anger, fear, grief, and worry, along with the power of contaminated Six-Phased Ice 45.
  • Regenerated wounds inflicted by Himeko’s attacks almost instantly 45.
  • Used his intestinal tails to throw large chunks of Six-Phased Ice 45.
  • Reshaped his anatomy defensively, moving his brain outside his skull to wrap around his head and block an attack 45.
  • The transformation diluted his emotions and memories, leaving him dominated by malice toward other contestants 45.
  • After resurrection, residual power remained in his flesh and organs, producing immense blood energy without the visitors’ consciousnesses attempting to control him. Continued access to his former monster form’s regeneration or Six-Phased Ice attacks was not demonstrated 75.

Cybernetic Enhancements

  • Advanced processing and vision: His Brain-Computer Interface provided a visual data-scanning display, clearer sight, and improved information processing 75.
  • Network access: With Yamada’s permissions and installed chips, he could access another person’s cybernetic visual feed and retrieve personnel information 79.
  • Electrical discharge: Generated arcs across his hands and projected a forearm-thick electrical current by bringing his palms together 85.
  • Powered mobility: Concealed leg thrusters allowed him to launch himself into the air and escape at high speed 86.
  • Combat strength: Easily kicked aside Taco despite Taco activating his skills, but could not meaningfully resist the Mobile Team Captain 85 86.
  • Control vulnerability: Yamada could remotely induce incapacitating pain through his augmented system. String Bean’s interception of his network signals later deprived him of outside updates 76 97.

Equipment / Items

  • Handcart — His initial two-wheeled, human-powered vehicle; remained in his possession after resurrection 7 12 75.
  • Kitchen knife — Taken from the contestant he killed in self-defense 13.
  • Park map — Collected from a newsstand to locate the Wax Museum 13.
  • Cybernetic Implants — Advanced mechanical replacements installed by Yamada after the missile explosion, including flesh-colored outer armor and leg thrusters 75 86.
  • Brain-Computer Interface — A top-of-the-line model supporting three chips, installed during his reconstruction 75.
  • Yamada’s supplied arsenal — An assortment of melee weapons, grenades, and submachine guns laid out for him at Yamada’s private bar. Weapons specifically targeting Brain-Computer Interfaces and Cybernetic Implants were not included 96.

Relationships

  • Nine-Tailed Fox — His Five-Star Guardian God, combat partner, and eventual fusion partner. It returned alongside him after resurrection 13 44 75.
  • Himeko — Initially sought her protection and cooperation; later planned to exploit or betray her. She warned him to leave before ultimately killing his monstrous form. After resurrection, he deliberately avoided fighting her again and sought to keep her occupied while attacking weaker Contestants 39 40 43 46 77 80.
  • Duncan — Temporary companion during the Wax Museum pursuit. They planned to deceive Himeko, but Duncan abandoned the hidden quest while Inukai stayed 39 43.
  • Taco — Restrained Inukai during the confrontation over Duncan’s false clue; later heard Inukai’s criticism of Himeko’s attitude. Their positions reversed in Los Angeles, where the augmented Inukai overpowered and electrocuted him 41 42 85.
  • Neon’s commentators — Provoked Himeko without his knowledge, then advised him to ally with her. After his death, they disagreed over whether to resurrect him, but ultimately allowed him to return 7 13 47 75 77.
  • Yamada — Rescued and reconstructed him, then forced him into service through remote pain and threats. Yamada considered Inukai valuable property and a component of his plan, protected his escape from the alley, and ultimately abandoned him when Dan Heng cornered him 75 76 88 92 97.
  • Bastion — Heavily augmented soldier assigned to assist him. Bastion resented being treated as Inukai’s subordinate but complied with Yamada’s instructions 79 80 84.
  • Washana — Intended target whom Inukai hoped to seize by invoking Yamada’s authority over the Mobile Team Captain 79.
  • Mobile Team Captain — Rejected Inukai’s orders and chose to protect the Contestants. He decisively defeated Inukai and helped Shut Up beat him before Yamada intervened 86.
  • Shut Up — Opposed his attempt to capture Taco, killed Bastion, and helped the Mobile Team Captain overpower him 84 85 86.
  • Dan Heng — Assigned to confront him during the operation against Yamada. Intercepted him at the private bar and exposed his network isolation and abandonment by Yamada 96 97.

Wax Replica

  • The Wax Museum created a separate Inukai double possessing his abilities, along with a replica of the Nine-Tailed Fox. The double—not the original Inukai—was the figure Taco punched when he broke his wrist 14 37.
  • The wax Inukai was rated Danger Level 2 during the initial encounter and Danger Level 1 during the later confrontation; these ratings were not stated levels for the human Inukai 14 37.
  • Himeko defeated the replicas and melted them together with wax Duncan into a portable bucket 38.
