Background
Himechi Cat originated as a wax double of Himeko in the Amusement Park’s Wax Museum. In her original form, she clung to Himeko, called her “Mom,” and behaved loudly enough that Himeko asked her to change her appearance and stop using the title 9 10.
Himeko reconstructed her in the museum’s second-floor workroom. Rather than carving wax blocks, she used melted wax mixed with unknown substances as paint and brought the new body into existence through Imagenesis. Himeko named the result “Himechi Cat” and refused her request to be taller, insisting on respecting the original design 12 13.
Taco’s later scan established that she was projected from Himeko’s heart and inherited the kindness within her. Himechi Cat explained that, unlike wax figures seeking to replace their originals, she had no desire to attack Himeko: intentions absent from Himeko’s heart would not naturally arise in hers 26 35.
After investigating the Wax Museum’s possible ability to strip away parts of contestants’ consciousness, Himeko briefly wondered whether Himechi Cat was literally a part of herself. She rejected the comparison between her own mature self-image and Himechi Cat’s unruly behavior rather than reaching a definitive explanation of the process 44.
Himechi Cat later describes herself to Dan Heng as “Super Himechi Cat,” a fan-created character Himeko made based on Teacher Ma’s work. When Sunday meets her, Himeko introduces her simply as a new friend from another world. Himeko postpones explaining her full origins because the ongoing livestream and complicated surroundings would make that information public 61 104 106.
Appearance
- Size: Approximately the same height as Pom-Pom 12.
- Fur: Smooth red fur over most of her body, with white fur on her face and chest 12.
- Tail: Fluffy, with none of the texture expected of a wax figure 12.
- Clothing: A navigator’s formal coat matching Himeko’s, draped over her back; the coat also bears a train ticket 12 47.
- Foxlike features: Other characters repeatedly identify her as a fox, although she firmly insists that she is a cat 14 16 35. Her later descriptions are inconsistent: she calls herself a cute fox, explicitly tells a guard that she is a fox, and tells Sunday that she is a raccoon cat 95 102 104.
- Paws: Has four digits on each paw. While counting the people gathered in an alley, she resorts to using her feet after running out of digits on her front paws 86.
- Belly pouch: Has a furry pouch or pocket on her belly, from which she produces coffee and other small items 60 61 99.
- Alternate clothing: Changes into a suit when Himeko asks her to behave more elegantly, but repeats the same violent exhortation with more formal enunciation 64.
Personality
Himechi Cat is outspoken, sarcastic, and quick to argue. She mocks Taco’s fixation on muscles, criticizes Himeko’s cooking, and even ridicules the creator associated with her body’s design. Himeko repeatedly objects that this behavior is “out of character” for another version of herself 13 14 15 17.
Her loyalty is more consistent than her manners. She guards injured companions, joins Himeko against dangerous enemies, and presents herself as a fellow navigator rather than a passive mascot. She is also more willing than Himeko to kill hostile contestants, proposing lethal solutions for both Duncan and Inukai before accepting Himeko’s decisions 15 22 42 43.
Her confidence can shade into bravado. During the fight with Pig Trotter Rice King, she assures Himeko that she can handle herself despite the heat threatening her wax-based body; sustained combat soon leaves her soft and limp 22 23.
In Los Angeles, her violent humor becomes more pronounced. After repeated harassment, she recommends publicly dismembering an attacker to deter further trouble, prompting Himeko to worry about her development. She also bullies the Pig Trotter Rice Spirit, treating it as a rival to her position aboard the Express and claiming authority over all its fluffy residents until Himeko intervenes 52 74 94.
Despite this behavior, she remains affectionate toward Himeko and willing to help others. She nestles against Himeko as they discuss the growing Express crew, would willingly do something for Huaxia if the opportunity arose along the way, and helps rescue falling employees even while making dark jokes about their poses 77 95 99.
She enjoys fictional conventions and games, often interpreting events as boss fights, ultimate moves, or wish-fulfillment plots. Her enthusiasm does not prevent occasional insight: she warns that Yamada may have hidden escape methods and recognizes the danger of following the Book-on-Paper Kingdom’s script 81 82 86 94 101 104.
Abilities & Skills
Monomolecular Saw Combat
Himechi Cat wields an Imagenesis-produced Monomolecular Saw similar to Himeko’s weapon 15 22.
- Fights alongside Himeko against Pig Trotter Rice King and helps deliver the finishing attacks after it is weakened 22 23.
- Can deploy the saw rapidly from her suitcase, striking the Snake Man when he startles her 30.
- Uses the blade to threaten Duncan while demanding that he reveal withheld information 42.
- Continues carrying the weapon in Los Angeles, waving it while riding on Himeko’s motorcycle and drawing a super-sized chainsaw after being repelled by the possessed Mobile Team Captain 64 87.
- Accidentally strikes Dan Heng’s face with the saw while riding on his head, leaving a bruise 92.
Flame-Assisted Attacks
- Wraps her suitcase in flame and strikes Washana hard enough to send her into a wall while defending Taco 16.
- Ignites flames over her body when engaging Pig Trotter Rice King 22.
- Original limitation: Heat softens the wax within her reconstructed body. Repeated use of the hot saw leaves her fur drooping and eventually reduces her to a limp, slime-like state 22 23.
- Himeko replaces her remaining wax in Chapter 47, but the supplied account does not establish a new heat-resistance limit 47.
Bullet Defense
- Casually blocks two shots from Duncan’s pistol, despite the weapon being capable of heavily damaging Level One Dangers 18.
- Duncan consequently estimates that she is at least a Level Three Danger; Taco’s later scan confirms that rating 18 26.
- Her combat strength does not prevent misdirection: Duncan escapes by pretending someone is about to attack from another direction 18.
Amusement Park Senses and Knowledge
Her origin gives her abilities and information connected to the Amusement Park 28.
- Detects something suspicious ahead in the Haunted House and identifies a problem with a disguised staff member 28.
- Explains that wax figures can replace their originals and that the Wax Museum’s mastermind is hidden inside 35.
- Cannot reliably obtain cooperation from other wax figures: threats and bribes fail when she interrogates the defeated doubles 38.
Physical Combat and Firearms
- Pretends to allow a group of thieves to abduct her, then returns alone five minutes later dragging mechanical hands, feet, and chips 52.
- Uses an energy gun found in a stolen hovercar to return fire from its roof during the Mobile Unit pursuit. After several exchanges, she retreats into the passenger seat looking bedraggled 59.
- Delivers a flying kick to Yamada when he attacks Himeko and later kicks the Star-Expanding Group’s security guard away from her 82 102.
- Pins Washana with a grappling hold while Yamada occupies her body, but cannot stop him from transferring his consciousness elsewhere 87.
- Survives being kicked in the face by the possessed Mobile Team Captain and immediately resumes threatening him, although she cannot defeat him herself 87.
Belly Pouch and Coffee
Himechi Cat repeatedly produces hot coffee, including from the furry pouch on her belly. Her coffee can emit black fumes or appear thick and abyss-like; Dan Heng finds its aroma overwhelming 12 60 61.
- Shut Up jokingly explains the pouch as a “Four-Dimensional Pocket” containing gadgets from different worlds. This is presented as a pun about Himechi Cat and Robot Cat, not a confirmed account of the pouch’s properties 60.
- During the company building’s transformation, she takes out a camera to photograph the giant mech and retrieves a scorecard from her belly pouch to rate the falling employees’ poses 99.
Tactical Observation
- Warns that Yamada’s apparent plan to leave the world through Inukai may conceal additional escape routes. She proposes that he could hide in String Bean’s data and notes that its self-check would not necessarily uncover a scheme by its own creator, while explicitly acknowledging her lack of evidence 94.
- Suggests forwarding Amir’s file to Weir and the other contestants so they can investigate his movements 95.
- Recognizes that obeying the Book-on-Paper Kingdom’s script could make her and Himeko part of its story and urges them to act differently. The script immediately incorporates her objection, demonstrating that noticing the danger alone does not free them 104.
Limitations
- Emotional influence: The giant kidney associated with the Haunted House intensifies her anger, leaving her demanding that Himeko destroy it with heavy weapons 44 45.
- Energy reserves: Himeko considers using her energy to power the Beggars’ Railgun but rejects the plan because she does not have enough 33.
- Initial body restrictions: Her modified body allows her to leave the Wax Museum and eventually the Amusement Park, unlike ordinary wax figures. She nevertheless feels unwell immediately after leaving the park 39 46.
- Stronger physical opponents: The Yamada-controlled Mobile Team Captain repels her pounce with a kick, and she acknowledges through her actions that she needs stronger companions to handle him 87.
- Digital possession: Restraining a possessed body does not restrain Yamada himself. He leaves Washana as soon as Himechi Cat catches her, while a thrown rock passes harmlessly through his holographic projection 87 99.
- No demonstrated flight: While catching employees falling from the company building, she realizes that she cannot fly. Dan Heng’s Dragon Spirits catch the crowd, after which she rides him toward Himeko 99.
- Script manipulation: The Book-on-Paper Kingdom’s imposed plot and characterization affect her mind. Sunday frees her from them; her subsequent freedom is not established as an independently acquired immunity 104.
Equipment
- Suitcase / briefcase — Carries her Monomolecular Saw and doubles as a striking weapon 16 18 22.
- Monomolecular Saw — An Imagenesis-made cutting weapon whose heat originally endangered her wax-containing body 15 22 23.
- Navigator’s coat and train ticket — Part of her Himechi Cat design; she points to the ticket when Himeko attempts to invite her aboard as though she were a new passenger 12 47.
- Energy gun — Temporarily takes one from a stolen hovercar to fire on pursuing Mobile Unit officers 59.
- Belly pouch — Used to hold or produce coffee and a scorecard; its full storage limits are unknown 60 61 99.
- Camera and scorecard — Uses them to photograph Yamada’s giant mech and jokingly judge falling employees during the rescue 99.
- Driver Script — Her personal script in the Book-on-Paper Kingdom. A late passage describes her calling down a gigantic mechanical arm, but this is a scripted future scene rather than a demonstrated ability 106.
Relationships
- Himeko — Her original, body-maker, and principal companion. Himeko protects her, repairs her body, and allows her to share her room aboard the Astral Express. Their frequent arguments center on Himechi Cat’s manners and claims to be “another” Himeko 17 22 30 47. Their later interactions remain affectionate but disciplinary: Himeko pets and carries her, stops her from bullying the Pig Trotter Rice Spirit, and supports teaching her to behave like an elegant navigator 77 94 99.
- Taco — Teammate and frequent sparring partner in arguments about muscles and her species. Despite the teasing, she guards him while injured and intervenes when Washana attacks him 14 15 16.
- Washana — Initially an attacker whom Himechi Cat strikes while defending Taco; subsequently joins their group after apologizing 16 17. Himechi Cat later restrains her during Yamada’s possession, inadvertently hurting her after he abandons the body 87.
- Duncan — Distrustful adversary. He mistakes her for a dangerous park monster, while she later threatens to kill him for trying to endanger Himeko 18 39 42. In Los Angeles, she accompanies the group when Duncan leads them to Lin En after admitting that he sold information about them 73.
- Shut Up — Traveling companion and frequent mount. He calls her “Lady Wax Hime,” records her jokes, and irritates her with his own wordplay 46 49. She complains that he has made twenty-three bad Himechi Cat puns, yet also orders him to invent jokes herself. She objects when Weir tries to commandeer his joke-making 65 67.
- Other wax figures — Fellow Wax Museum projections who reject her allegiance to Himeko, calling her a traitor, spy, and lackey during interrogation 38.
- Dan Heng — Fellow Express member who includes her among those he must protect. He recognizes that her behavior and coffee production do not match the original fictional Himechi Cat, shields her view inside an adult club, and helps curb her language 60 63 70 99. She repeatedly rides on his head, kneads him with her paws, and calls on him to attack enemies. During the final confrontation with Yamada, she rides him through the air to reach Himeko 92 94 96 99.
- Weir — Companion in Los Angeles who witnesses her quarrels, accompanies the group’s investigations, and considers her a major part of its fighting strength. They also compete over giving Shut Up instructions to make jokes 67 73 86.
- Pig Trotter Rice Spirit — Target of her possessive bullying. She threatens to sell it because it overlaps with her character concept and later claims it must recognize her as the highest-ranking fluffy creature aboard the Express. Himeko repeatedly intervenes 74 94.
- Yamada — Enemy whom she kicks, insults, and tries to catch during his transfers between hosts. She distrusts his escape plans and suspects that he may have concealed another route through String Bean’s data 82 87 94.
- String Bean — Cooperates with it during the effort to eliminate Yamada but challenges both its ambitions and its confidence that its data contains no hidden trace of its creator 91 94.
- Sunday — Frees her from the Book-on-Paper Kingdom’s imposed plot and characterization. Their first exchange includes her joking that cats and pigeons are destined to be predator and prey; she later affirms his credentials as a Nameless after learning that he is wanted 104 106.

- Possession crisis: Attempts to restrain Yamada while he switches between the Mobile Team Captain and Washana, but physical holds cannot prevent his transfers. The possessed captain kicks her away 87.
- Discussing solutions: Suggests letting Yamada possess Inukai and eliminating them at the next stop. Later, she warns that he may instead try to escape inside String Bean’s data 91 94.
- Amir operation: Decides to share Amir’s file with the other contestants and accompanies Himeko when they split from Dan Heng to pursue him. After Amir is defeated and dismantled, she plays with his motionless head until Himeko removes her 95 96 97.
- Final battle and civilian rescue: Draws her saw against Yamada, briefly tries to ride a vacuum cleaner, and helps catch employees falling when the company building becomes a giant mech. After Dan Heng’s Dragon Spirits secure the crowd, she rides him to Himeko and witnesses the confrontation that ends with Yamada’s last Database being destroyed 99.
Book-on-Paper Kingdom
- Assigned driver: Enters a story in which Himeko is the new chairwoman of the Star-Expanding Group and she is merely the driver. Disappointed that she is not the protagonist, she proposes swapping identities with Himeko 101 102.
- Scripted security confrontation: Insults the guard who bars their entry, kicks him away when he begs at Himeko’s feet, and orders Supervisor Liu to fine him a year’s wages and fire him 102.
- Discovering the script’s control: Searches her and Himeko’s scripts for information about Sunday, Zhou Tiange, and Dan Heng. She warns against following the prescribed plot, only for the script to reproduce her objection and assert its control over outsiders as well 104.
- Sunday’s intervention: Is freed by Sunday from the plot and characterization imposed on her mind. He explains that the kingdom’s inhabitants live according to the author’s scripts, while leaving open whether their apparent resistance is itself an intended twist 104.
- Touring the kingdom: Joins Himeko and Sunday in observing its expressionless inhabitants and discussing life under scripted roles. Her personal Driver Script contains a late scene in which she calls down a giant mechanical arm, but she has not performed that action 106.

Trivia
- Himeko associates her design with The Fluffy Voyage of the Azure Sky. The naming scene begins with Himechi Cat asking whether Himeko paid a licensing fee 12.
- Himeko considers changing her into a “Baseball Bat Raccoon” or “March 7th Hare” because her snark does not match the elegance expected of her current design 13 15.
- Himeko unsuccessfully tries to count her as a newly invited passenger by putting her outside the train and inviting her back aboard. The system rejects the attempt because she had already boarded before the mission was issued 47.
- Dan Heng knows enough about The Fluffy Voyage of the Azure Sky to recognize her deviations from its setting because March 7th made him read the entire work 60.
- Shut Up’s “Four-Dimensional Pocket” explanation is explicitly a joke based on the similarity between Himechi Cat and Robot Cat 60.
- Her claim to rank above Pom-Pom among the Express’s fluffy residents is part of her bullying of the Pig Trotter Rice Spirit, not an established position in the train’s hierarchy 94.
- While rescuing falling employees and making dark jokes, she thinks that she qualifies to become the Tavern’s newest Fool; no actual membership is established 99.
- Her Driver Script promises a giant mechanical-arm scene near its end. This does not establish that she has independently acquired Himeko’s Starblazer-related abilities 106.
