Arc 16Death, Gods, and Heirs

Dunn wiped out the Wizard Council’s invading Legendaries, then strengthened Atlantis while the Elf Empress challenged the gods and tested how the Abyss could transform a deity. After trading secrets with the Eye of the Firmament, Dunn drew the world’s attention by beginning the search for an heir.

  • Dunn killed the Blade of Dusk and fifteen other Wizard Council Legendaries, wiping out three squads and driving the world’s factions to seek ties with Atlantis.
  • Dunn embraced fifteen loyal young people as vampire descendants, while Atlantis’s Church grew and Wells eventually left to travel after meeting Dunn’s demand to father ten children.
  • The gods abducted Elves for a banquet, prompting the Elf Empress to attack the God of Desire’s Divine Kingdom and defeat the gods’ ambitions with her vast domain.
  • The Elf Empress forced Yeenoghu’s Divine Kingdom into the Abyss, where he surrendered to its corruption and became a powerful new Abyss Lord.
  • The Eye of the Firmament confronted Dunn about his cult and faith, then exchanged secrets with him as Dunn negotiated cooperation and made the Eye his public shield.
  • Dunn announced that he would choose an heir from Atlantis’s citizens sent abroad, and Annie identified Kailant and Yara Moore as the two qualified candidates.
Chapters 376–400 Vol. 4 Read

Ch. 376Let's say hello!

Dunn completed his Deification and reached the pinnacle of Demigods, while the Wizard Council’s Legendary forces approached Atlantis aboard the Wings of the Sky. Led by Blade of Dusk, they prepared to attack the empire, still confident despite his warning about the Blood Emperor.

  • Dunn’s Deification gave him ten units of Death Divine Power, placing him among the world’s foremost powers below Heaven’s Mandate.
  • Atlantis’s Legendaries held a small banquet to celebrate Dunn’s ascent, while Edward stayed away to preserve distance between the Deity and his believers.
  • Aboard the Wings of the Sky, Wizard Council Legendaries dismissed Atlantis as an easy target and questioned why Blade of Dusk had joined them.
  • Blade of Dusk warned the group that the Blood Emperor had killed Hohenheim alone and could also kill their captains.
  • As the ship neared the Storm Sea, Blade of Dusk drew his rapier and said they would say hello to Atlantis in advance.

Ch. 377The scent of death

Dunn’s Deification was celebrated across Atlantis when the Blade of Dusk launched a surprise attack, and Annie barely stopped his sword intent from destroying a populated island. As the Wizard Council’s Legendaries prepared to overwhelm Annie, an unknown voice unleashed deathly lightning at one of them.

  • The Blade of Dusk’s sword intent split an inhabited island apart and killed its creatures as it rushed toward Atlantis.
  • Annie sensed the attack, intercepted the sword intent, and weakened it with her Space Authority before freezing and striking it with lightning.
  • Annie dispersed the sword intent but was injured, then recognized the Blade of Dusk and fifteen other Wizard Council Legendaries aboard a warship.
  • The Blade of Dusk ordered the group to attack Annie together and finish her quickly.
  • A commanding voice interrupted them as blackish-gray lightning struck toward one Legendary, carrying the scent of death.

Ch. 378The Terror of a Death Deity!

Dunn killed Gerald with gray-black lightning, revealing the lethal power of his death-aspect Demigod abilities, then faced the Blade of Dusk’s attack. The Blade of Dusk’s rapier crumbled to dust when it touched Dunn’s Death Divine Power.

  • Dunn’s gray-black lightning killed Gerald instantly, shocking the Wizard Council Legendaries and the Blade of Dusk.
  • The Blade of Dusk accused Dunn of becoming a Demigod, but Dunn pointed out that the Council had come to kill him.
  • The Blade of Dusk attacked Dunn to defend the Wizard Council’s standing after Gerald’s death.
  • Dunn touched the Blade of Dusk’s rapier with Death Divine Power, turning it gray and brittle.
  • The Blade of Dusk’s rapier crumbled into powder, leaving the confrontation unresolved.

Ch. 379None of You Are Leaving

Dunn and Atlantis’s Legendaries fought the Wizard Council’s forces after Dunn demonstrated the lethal power of his Death Divine Power. As Bronn and the others held off the Blade of Dusk, Dunn moved to wipe out the remaining Wizard Council Legendaries and secure Atlantis’s rise.

  • The Blade of Dusk’s ancient rapier crumbled to ash, and Dunn attacked him with Death Divine Power.
  • The Blade of Dusk scattered Dunn’s attack with Sword Intent and recognized that Dunn had ascended through Death Authority.
  • The Blade of Dusk considered retreat after learning how deadly Dunn’s power was, but Dunn challenged him and threatened to kill the Wizard Council’s other Legendaries.
  • The Blade of Dusk warned Dunn against provoking the Wizard Council, and Bronn and the others surrounded him.
  • Dunn sent a torrent of death toward the Legendaries aboard [Wings of the Sky], intending to leave none of the Wizard Council’s force alive.

Ch. 380None of You Are Getting Away

Dunn attacked the Wizard Council’s fourteen Legendaries while Atlantis’s fighters kept the Blade of Dusk occupied. After killing a second Legendary, Dunn promised that none of the remaining wizards would escape.

  • The Wizard Council’s Legendaries scattered to avoid Dunn’s Death Divine Power, leaving the Wings of the Sky and its attendants to be destroyed.
  • A captain rallied the wizards, who surrounded Dunn while believing his divine power would eventually run out.
  • Dunn used his faith to replenish divine power and unleashed gray-black lightning as he advanced on the Legendaries.
  • Dunn disguised a targeted attack amid the lightning, froze one Legendary with Conqueror’s Color Haki, and pierced his chest as Death spread through his body.
  • Dunn returned to human form after the kill and told the surviving Legendaries that none of them would get away.

Ch. 381See you in a moment

Dunn exhausted his divine power while fighting the Wizard Council's Legendaries and was left gravely wounded after taking their combined attack. As a captain moved to finish him off, Dunn smiled and said he would see them in a moment.

  • The Wizard Council's Legendaries hesitated to attack Dunn until a captain noticed he was recovering his divine power and ordered all thirteen to strike together.
  • Dunn used his remaining divine power against one captain, badly wounding him but failing to kill him.
  • The Wizard Council's Legendaries hit Dunn with a full-strength combined attack, leaving most of his body destroyed and his recovery suppressed.
  • The Legendaries regained their confidence and a captain approached to deliver the final blow, but Dunn smiled and said, "Heh, everyone, see you in a moment!"

Ch. 382Full mana, full health, unlimited sustain?

Dunn resurrected after self-destructing, discovering that the process had also fully restored his Divine Power. Confident he could keep reviving and fighting, he charged the Wizard Council’s remaining Legendary members, targeting their gravely wounded captain.

  • Dunn’s self-destruction wounded the Wizard Council’s nearby Legendary members, and they flew toward the Blade of Dusk’s battlefield.
  • Annie and Alice’s spatial blockade kept the Legendary members from advancing, and Dunn suddenly reappeared and killed two of them with gray-black lightning.
  • Dunn realized his resurrection had restored his Divine Power and decided he could keep fighting by resurrecting whenever he ran out.
  • A captain reassured the remaining eleven Legendary members that Dunn’s resurrection must have restrictions, and Dunn launched an attack on the gravely wounded captain.

Ch. 383Only Thinking of Running Now? Too Late!

Dunn killed Mailuo and Captain Jace, then appeared to die in another self-destruction as the Wizard Council’s remaining Legendaries broke the spatial seal. When they heard the sound of flowing water, Mikes realized Dunn had returned and ordered everyone to flee, but Dunn told them it was too late.

  • Dunn killed the gravely wounded Mailuo while the other Wizard Council Legendaries hesitated to intervene.
  • Dunn charged another Legendary, but the target fled into the group, where the captains led the Legendaries in an attack.
  • Dunn switched targets and killed Captain Jace with his Death Divine Power, then blew himself up, leaving all nine survivors wounded.
  • Mikes ordered the nine Legendaries to break the spatial seal, and they did so before preparing to reinforce the Blade of Dusk.
  • The sound of flowing water made Mikes recognize Dunn’s return, so he ordered everyone to flee, but Dunn said they were too late.

Ch. 384Your turn

Dunn hunted down the fleeing Legendaries, using his death divine power and a self-detonation to eliminate them despite a Physical-Side Legendary’s resilience. After spending another life to defeat the last four, he faced the encircled Blade of Dusk and declared that he was next.

  • The remaining Legendaries fled, but Dunn pursued them while Annie and Alice blocked their escape routes.
  • Dunn killed several fleeing Legendaries, then found that a Physical-Side Legendary survived his death divine power.
  • Dunn wrapped the survivor in his wings and self-detonated, killing him and leaving Mikes and three others trapped.
  • Mikes and the others gathered to face Dunn, who attacked after realizing they would not surrender.
  • Dunn spent another life to wipe out the remaining Legendaries, bringing his total to fifteen kills across three squads.
  • After resurrecting, Dunn confronted the encircled Blade of Dusk and told him he was next.

Ch. 385First High Legendary kill!

Dunn killed the Blade of Dusk after using repeated self-detonations to break through the High Legendary’s defenses and infect him with death divine power. The Blade of Dusk died after Dunn expended six more lives, leaving Dunn’s group with its first High Legendary kill.

  • The Legendaries of Atlantis drew back when Dunn arrived, and the Blade of Dusk realized he was unlikely to survive.
  • Dunn attacked the Blade of Dusk with a spear of death divine power, while the Blade charged forward to test its strength.
  • Dunn exhausted his divine power and attacked the Blade of Dusk with Haki, but the Blade focused on resisting the death spear.
  • Dunn detonated himself at close range, tearing open the Blade of Dusk’s battle qi defenses as death divine power infected him.
  • Annie and the others pinned the Blade of Dusk in place while Dunn revived and repeated his attack, eventually expending six more lives.
  • The Blade of Dusk called Dunn a monster before death divine power completely infected and killed him.

Ch. 386The eyes of the world

After the Wizard Council’s three Legendary squads were annihilated in Atlantis, the world learned that Dunn’s power as a Death Demigod had helped secure the victory. Factions turned to Deification and then sent Legendary envoys to make peace with Atlantis, leaving Dunn and the empire free to grow under the restraint of the world’s Destiny Legendaries.

  • News spread that the Wizard Council’s three Legendary squads, including Blade of Dusk, had been wiped out in Atlantis, alarming factions across the world.
  • The factions uncovered accounts of the battle and saw Dunn slaughter Legendaries, sparking a worldwide effort to create Death Demigods through Deification.
  • As more Death Demigods emerged and Legendaries died attempting Deification, the factions discovered that Dunn’s resurrection and Divine Power were exceptional, and the Deification craze subsided.
  • Factions sent Legendary-led envoys to establish friendly relations with Atlantis because they could not safely deploy a Destiny Legendary against Dunn.
  • The world’s ten known Destiny Legendaries kept one another in check, allowing Dunn and Atlantis to develop rapidly.

Ch. 387The empire's future

The Atlantis Empire rose to become one of the world’s three foremost human powers as the Wizard Council refrained from attacking it. Dunn began creating loyal descendants by transforming young recruits, declaring them the empire’s future.

  • The world’s powers recognized Atlantis as the Lyon Empire’s successor, while the Wizard Council avoided further conflict with Dunn and his empire.
  • In March of year twelve of the Calendar of the Gods, Annie brought fifteen talented, loyal young people to Dunn in the Throne Hall.
  • Dunn chose Sariel and drained her blood, then revived her with a drop of his own blood, transforming her into a vampire descendant.
  • Dunn explained that his descendants could grow without bottlenecks, had nearly infinite lifespans, and were certain to become Legendary, then called them the empire’s future.

Ch. 388Embrace

After discovering divine power could replace the permanent loss of Will Attribute caused by Embrace, Dunn used nearly all his accumulated power of faith to create fifteen vampires. He left their training and control to Annie while turning his attention to building his Divine Kingdom.

  • Dunn learned that each Embrace permanently cost one point of Will Attribute, so he had abandoned plans to create vampires until his Deification let him use divine power instead.
  • After the situation stabilized, Dunn decided to Embrace fifteen people, accepting that the process would consume all his divine power.
  • Dunn spent several days completing the fifteen Embraces, nearly exhausting the power of faith he had accumulated over ten years.
  • Dunn entrusted the newborn vampires to Annie, who would arrange their development and teach them to control their bloodthirst and strengthen their will.
  • Dunn focused on constructing his Divine Kingdom, determined to build it carefully rather than rush into the heavens.

Ch. 389Offspring

Dunn prepared to build his divine kingdom while his children and descendants advanced along their own paths. Wells's efforts to meet Dunn's condition for traveling paid off as the Campbell Family's third generation began to arrive, leaving him close to earning permission to roam.

  • Annie sent Dunn's newborn vampire descendants out to develop after they reached the third tier, while Dunn focused on planning his divine kingdom.
  • Wells reached adulthood as a third-tier [Supernova], but Dunn forbade him from traveling until he fathered ten children.
  • Lilith arranged wives and concubines for Wells, while Dunn's daughter Evelyn became the Church's saintess and a fourth-tier [Priest].
  • Evelyn's mother, Elvia, and other mermaids also joined the Church and helped spread Dunn's faith.
  • In Year 21, Wells's first child was born, and eight of his wives and concubines had conceived, bringing him close to Dunn's requirement.

Ch. 390The new king and the restless gods

Yara Moore defeated Haig on Bewitching Flame Island and was crowned Pirate King. In the same year, the New World prepared to retaliate against the Old World with possible support from the Dragon Race and Elf Race, while the restless gods considered intervening.

  • Yara Moore used her phoenix powers and a mind-stunning attack to kill Haig despite his higher tier.
  • Yara’s fellow pirates celebrated her coronation as the new Pirate King.
  • In Year 22 of the Calendar of the Gods, Wells completed his father’s assigned task and left to travel, leaving his newborn and unborn children behind.
  • The New World closed the Abyss Gate, destroyed the demons, and prepared to attack the Old World.
  • The New World’s coming conflict created an opening for the Dragon Race and Elf Race to oppose the Wizard Council.
  • The gods, unable to advance their cultivation for more than twenty years, grew restless and considered seeking entertainment.

Ch. 391The Gods' Probe

The gods’ abduction and abuse of a Legendary Elf provoked the Elf Empress into attacking the Astral Plane. She smashed into the God of Desire’s Divine Kingdom, where more than a dozen Deities awaited her.

  • The gods secretly sent Clones to capture Elves, then seized tens of thousands and abducted an Elf Legendary.
  • The Deities celebrated by abusing the Elf Legendary as their banquet’s main course, and news of it enraged the Elf Race.
  • The Elf Legendaries demanded that the Elf Empress lead them against the gods, and she decided she could no longer ignore the provocation.
  • The day after the banquet, the Elf Empress charged into the Astral Plane and smashed a hole through the God of Desire’s Divine Kingdom.
  • The Elf Empress confronted more than a dozen Deities standing ready for battle inside the Divine Kingdom.

Ch. 392What Heaven's Mandate Meant

The Elf Empress resisted an assault by nineteen Deities inside the God of Desire’s Divine Kingdom, using nineteen Legendary Spells to counter their attacks. After the Deities sealed the breach with another Divine Kingdom, she began unleashing the power of Heaven’s Mandate and summoned the Emerald Myriad Forest Domain.

  • The God of Desire ordered the Deities to attack the Elf Empress, and seven Weak Powers and twelve Lesser Powers surrounded her.
  • The Elf Empress cast nineteen Legendary Spells at once, countering the nineteen torrents of Divine Power and tearing rifts through the God of Desire’s Divine Kingdom.
  • The God of Desire flew to the Divine Kingdom’s core to stabilize it while the other Deities prepared to attack again.
  • Another Divine Kingdom slammed against the breach, blocking it, as the Deities mocked the Elf Empress and threatened her.
  • The Elf Empress dismissed the Deities as jackals, formed hundreds upon thousands of spell seals, and invoked the Emerald Myriad Forest Domain.

Ch. 393Thwarted midway

The Elf Empress unleashed her Emerald Myriad Forest Domain, whose reach astonished the Legendary figures watching from Atlantis. Her attack devastated the Gods’ Divine Kingdoms and killed more than a dozen Deities, ending their renewed ambitions for the moment.

  • The Elf Empress expanded her Emerald Myriad Forest Domain, sending emerald radiance across the Astral Plane and causing plants throughout the Material Plane to grow rapidly.
  • In Atlantis’s Throne Hall, Alice explained domains to Dunn and the gathered Legendaries, comparing them to Divine Kingdoms and describing their effect on their users and enemies.
  • Alice revealed that Eddinger’s level 48 domain had covered Atlantis, while the Elf Empress’s domain reached across the Astral Plane and illuminated more than half the Material Plane.
  • Dunn remarked that some people were level 49 because they could go no farther, while others were level 49 because the world had no higher limit.
  • The emerald radiance vanished as the two Divine Kingdoms crumbled, and more than a dozen stars fell, marking the deaths of Deities and the Elf Empress’s defeat of the Gods’ ambitions.

Ch. 394Falling into the Abyss

Lyon I vowed to become the emperor among gods as the Elf Empress pursued Yeenoghu to his Divine Kingdom. Forced to activate the Eye of the Firmament’s secret treasure, Yeenoghu watched a Spatial Rift swallow his Divine Kingdom and open onto the Abyss.

  • Lyon I watched the Elf Empress’s domain and declared that everything would bow to him when he achieved deification.
  • Yeenoghu fled toward his Divine Kingdom after the Elf Empress defeated the other deities in the operation against her.
  • The Elf Empress pressured Yeenoghu outside his Divine Kingdom, and he realized she was forcing him to use the secret treasure from the Eye of the Firmament.
  • Yeenoghu activated the secret treasure and warned his pursuers not to let him survive.
  • A Spatial Rift opened where Yeenoghu’s Divine Kingdom stood and swallowed it, revealing the Abyss beyond.

Ch. 395Abyss Lord Yeenoghu

The Elf Empress used the Abyssal passage opened with the Eye of the Firmament’s secret treasure to force Yeenoghu’s divine kingdom into the Abyss. Yeenoghu embraced the Abyss, became the Abyss Lord of a newborn layer, and fixed his gaze on the Elf Empress.

  • Yeenoghu realized that a passage to the Abyss had opened around his divine kingdom and suspected the Elf Empress and the Eye of the Firmament had set him up.
  • The Abyss began pulling Yeenoghu’s kingdom into its depths, and he used his divine power to resist.
  • The Elf Empress shoved Yeenoghu’s kingdom into the passage with enormous emerald-green hands, then remained outside as it swallowed him.
  • The Abyss corrupted Yeenoghu’s kingdom and whispered promises of power and revenge until he gave up resisting and embraced it.
  • Yeenoghu’s divine fire was extinguished, and he became the Abyss Lord of the new layer formed from his corrupted kingdom.
  • Yeenoghu’s power grew beyond what he had possessed as a deity, and he met the Elf Empress’s gaze through layers of space.

Ch. 396Almost mature

Yeenoghu became a new Abyss Lord after the Abyss corrupted his Godhead, but the Elf Empress remained far stronger and closed the passage between them. In the Astral Plane, she and the Eye of the Firmament discussed the experiment and considered using more test subjects, including Aruoshi.

  • Yeenoghu felt his power surge after falling into the Abyss, but he held back from seeking revenge when he sensed the Elf Empress's overwhelming strength.
  • The Elf Empress closed the spatial passage and confirmed that the test subject had survived and become a new Abyss Lord.
  • The Eye of the Firmament asked the Elf Empress to explain how the experiment had changed the test subject's body, soul, and Godhead.
  • The Elf Empress explained that the Abyss corrupted the Godhead only after the test subject stopped resisting, then transformed it and raised the subject's strength to a level comparable to a Destiny Legendary.
  • The Elf Empress and the Eye of the Firmament agreed that they needed more test subjects and discussed including Aruoshi.

Ch. 397The arrogance of those above

After witnessing the Elf Empress destroy more than ten deities, Dunn sent the shaken Legendaries away and confronted the Eye of the Firmament, whom he suspected of manipulating events. The Eye asked about Dunn’s Cult, but Dunn invoked their contract, exposing how little the Eye had demanded because he underestimated his test subjects.

  • The Atlantis Legendaries and Dunn were stunned by the Elf Empress’s power, and Dunn dismissed the Legendaries from the Throne Hall.
  • The Eye of the Firmament appeared before Dunn, who questioned whether he could be trusted and challenged him to explain his visit.
  • Dunn revealed that he suspected the Eye had engineered the Elf Empress’s actions and used Yeenoghu as a test subject.
  • The Eye asked Dunn to explain the Cult he had established in Atlantis.
  • Dunn reminded the Eye that their contract only required him to achieve deification within a hundred years, and the Eye’s smile briefly froze.

Ch. 398Chessmaster

The Eye of the Firmament revealed that Dunn had been marked as expendable and secretly watched him after his fate defied the Eye’s Divination. Dunn explained that the cults’ power came from faith and used the revelation to negotiate deeper cooperation and access to high-level information.

  • The Eye of the Firmament told Dunn that he had been designated as an expendable test subject alongside the previous Mr. Yin Tiger.
  • The Eye of the Firmament said Dunn’s survival and rise to Legendary had confounded his Divination, prompting him to watch Dunn for years.
  • The Eye of the Firmament revealed that he had discovered Dunn’s cults and their use of reverence to empower him and elevate a follower to Legendary.
  • Dunn corrected the Eye of the Firmament, explaining that the power was faith, and the Eye eagerly asked him to describe it.
  • Dunn offered to explain faith in exchange for deeper cooperation and high-level information.

Ch. 399The tables turned

Dunn traded information with the Eye of the Firmament, learning that the world had only ten Destiny Legendaries and that something in the East Sea might be above Heaven’s Mandate. He shared his knowledge of faith and recruited the Eye as a public shield for his plans, then startled him by asking about the Omniscient and Omnipotent Star.

  • Dunn asked whether there were truly only ten Destiny Legendaries, and the Eye of the Firmament confirmed it before explaining that powerful factions had independently eliminated later holders of Heaven’s Mandate.
  • The Eye of the Firmament said he could not investigate the East Sea because his intuition warned him that doing so would kill him, suggesting something there surpassed Heaven’s Mandate.
  • Dunn and the Eye of the Firmament exchanged secrets for a day, and Dunn shared everything he knew about faith.
  • Dunn made the Eye of the Firmament his public shield to draw attention while Dunn stayed behind the scenes and accelerated the Age of the Gods.
  • Dunn asked whether the Eye had heard of the Omniscient and Omnipotent Star, and the Eye jolted before vanishing from the hall.

Ch. 400The Heir Apparent

Dunn prepared to choose an heir apparent for the Atlantis Empire from among young people sent abroad to develop, rather than from his own children. Of the thirteen survivors, only Kailant and Yara Moore qualified, and Dunn was left weighing Kailant’s local ties against Yara’s greater strength.

  • The New World expelled the Abyssal demons, while the Wizard Council urged Old World Legendaries with no prospects of advancement to attempt Deification.
  • Dunn announced that he would choose an heir apparent from the young Atlantis citizens sent abroad decades earlier, drawing the world’s attention because he had a son and daughter of his own.
  • Annie reported that thirteen of the twenty candidates survived: six were Third Tier and seven were Fourth Tier, but only two Fourth Tier candidates qualified as potential heirs.
  • Annie identified the two candidates as Kailant, a native Bearfolk [Pirate King] who wielded the Lava Fruit, and Yara Moore, a [Pirate King] suspected of being an initial-stage Limit Breaker who wielded the Phoenix Fruit.
  • Dunn recalled that Yara and her younger brother had obtained the [Talisman of the Broken Ten Thousand Laws]; Annie explained that her brother had chosen to serve as her Navigator.
  • Annie said Kailant’s local roots could help stabilize the empire, but Yara was stronger.
