The last three days of his vacation passed in a flash.
Lin Ze devoted almost all his time to studying the two Sealing Jutsu scrolls.
He made progress, but less than he had expected.
From the two scrolls, Lin Ze worked out the theoretical techniques for breaking the Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal.
But theory was theory, and practice was practice.
Without actual samples to test on, Lin Ze could not guarantee the safety or success rate of the process through theoretical deduction alone.
Nonō was not a test subject. He could not risk her life.
It seems there's only so much theory can do. I need... actual "material" to verify it.
Lin Ze closed the scroll, a cold glint flashing through his eyes.
The "material," of course, meant those Root members who had been brainwashed by Danzo and also had Cursed Seals planted on them.
Lin Ze felt no pity for these puppets who had long since lost themselves and become Danzo's tools.
I'm heading out on a mission anyway. I'll see if there's a chance to "run into" a few isolated Root members along the way.
Setting the thought aside, Lin Ze composed himself and left his room.
Today was the day his vacation ended and he reported back to the ANBU.
The Hokage Office.
Hiruzen Sarutobi still sat behind his desk piled high with documents, wisps of smoke rising from his pipe.
He looked at Lin Ze, who stood respectfully before him, his gaze lingering for a moment on that calm young face.
"How was your vacation?" Hiruzen Sarutobi asked mildly, like an elder concerned for a younger generation.
"Thank you for your concern, Lord Hokage. I'm fully prepared and ready for a new mission at any time."
Lin Ze's answer was concise, without any unnecessary emotion.
