Uchiha Fugaku confronted Konoha’s clan leaders after the Uchiha evacuation was exposed, and refused to call it off. The fighting began in the Hokage Building as the major clans joined forces against the Uchiha.

• An Inuzuka Clan ninja reported that the Uchiha were secretly gathering to evacuate Konoha, and the clan leaders accused Uchiha Fugaku of betraying the village.
• Fugaku revealed his Mangekyō Sharingan and declared that the Uchiha would leave that night, killing anyone who stood in their way.
• Uchiha Yashiro attacked Utatane Koharu, and Shikaku Nara launched an assault with Choza Akimichi and Shino Yamanaka.
• The Uchiha countered the coordinated attack, burning away Shikaku Nara’s shadows, forcing Choza Akimichi back, and injuring Shino Yamanaka with a rebounded mental attack.
• Utatane Koharu called for the Uchiha to be taken down, and Sarutobi Shinnosuke and representatives of several clans joined the fight.

Hyuga Hiashi revealed that he had awakened the Tenseigan and planned to end the Main Family system by killing its members and giving every clan member an equal Caged Bird Seal. After destroying the gathered Main Family, he left his brother Hizashi to lead Hyuga’s rebirth and went to take care of one last thing.

• Hyūga Tennin admitted that he had once wanted to abolish the Caged Bird Seal but had lacked the courage, and he accepted Hiashi’s plan before taking his own life.
• Hizashi told Hiashi that he had gathered sixty-seven Main Family members and their followers in the underground chamber under the pretext of protecting them.
• Hiashi entered the chamber with the Tenseigan and declared that the Main Family system would end.
• Hiashi used the Tenseigan to erase the gathered Main Family members and their followers with a golden beam.
• Hiashi told Hizashi that all Hyuga clan members would be equal, entrusted him with the clan and with Hinata and Hanabi, and disappeared into the darkness.

Uchiha Fugaku used his Perfect Susanoo to hold off Konoha’s forces and fly toward the Uchiha Clan Compound. As the Uchiha evacuation came under attack, a masked man abducted Naruto with Kamui, causing the Nine-Tails to appear.

• Uchiha Fugaku ordered the elders to protect the evacuation group while he faced the pursuing clans, then wounded Torifu Akimichi with Susanoo and Amaterasu.
• Uchiha Fugaku swept Susanoo’s blade through the assembled ninjas, killing several, then flew toward the Uchiha Clan Compound.
• Uchiha Feng tried to protect the evacuating Uchiha, while Uchiha Mikoto guarded Sasuke and Naruto amid the attack by over a thousand enemy ninja.
• A Spiral Mask-wearing man used Kamui to abduct Naruto, and the Nine-Tails appeared with three tomoe turning in its eyes.

Obito Uchiha controlled the Nine-Tails and began a second attack on Konoha, trapping the evacuating Uchiha. Uchiha Fugaku intervened with Susanoo, but the battle remained unresolved as the Uchiha tried to escape and Shikaku Nara’s forces waited to finish them off.

• Obito Uchiha appeared atop the Nine-Tails and announced that the second Night of the Nine-Tails had begun.
• Uchiha Fugaku blocked the Nine-Tails’ Tailed Beast Bomb with Susanoo, then failed to control the beast because Obito’s visual power was stronger.
• Fugaku redirected the Tailed Beast Bomb into the shopping street and ordered the Uchiha to abandon their plan and flee through the southern wall.
• Uchiha Yashiro, Inabi, and Tekka led the Uchiha jōnin through the first line of Konoha’s encirclement while Shikaku Nara ordered his forces to hold them back.

Hyuga Hiashi used the Giant Tenseigan to enter a borrowed form of Tenseigan Chakra Mode and rescued Uchiha Itachi, Uchiha Mikoto, Sasuke, Uchiha Izumi, and Uchiha Yashiro from their attackers. He concealed his aid by sealing their original escape route and directing them toward a Hyūga passage to the Land of Fire Border.

• Hyuga Hiashi drew power from the Giant Tenseigan and formed a weaker, borrowed Tenseigan Chakra Mode.
• Uchiha Yashiro, Uchiha Itachi, Uchiha Mikoto, Sasuke, and Uchiha Izumi faced Utatane Koharu, Mitokado Homura, and their ninja at the secret passage's exit.

Uchiha Fugaku held off Konoha’s pursuit force so Itachi and the others could escape, while Hiashi battled the Nine-Tails. After Fugaku’s Susanoo fell, he summoned Little Black and removed his own eyes.

• Itachi thanked Hiashi, then carried his exhausted mother east with Sasuke and Uchiha Izumi toward the Land of Whirlpools, Dragon Release Village.
• Hiashi joined Uchiha Fugaku’s fight against the Nine-Tails and restrained its tails with Truth-Seeking Orbs while Fugaku realized Itachi’s group had escaped.
• Fugaku flew to the secret passage’s exit and confronted the assembled Konoha pursuit force, declaring that no one would pass him.
• Fugaku fought the pursuing ninja until his Susanoo dissipated, then summoned Little Black and removed his own eyes.

After giving his eyes to Itachi, Fugaku sacrificed his life to unleash a blood-red Susanoo and died defending Konoha. Hiashi then broke Obito’s control over the Nine-Tails, and Hiruzen asked him to help seal the beast.

• Fugaku gave his eyes to Xiaohei to deliver to Itachi, then used his life force to maintain a blood-red Susanoo that killed over a hundred ninja before he died.
• Hiashi arrived in a pale green chakra cloak, repelled the Nine-Tails, and used Banshō Ten'in to draw it toward him.
• Hiashi attacked the Mangekyō Sharingan’s control over the Nine-Tails and dodged Obito’s Kamui before counterattacking with a golden spear.

• Hiashi restrained the Nine-Tails while Hiruzen and the Sealing Squad sealed it into Naruto.
• Hiruzen ordered Shino Yamanaka to erase Naruto’s Uchiha memories and implant a past as an orphan ostracized by the village.
• An Inuzuka scout reported that Itachi and three others had fled toward the border, so Hiruzen sent Shikaku and twenty jōnin after them.
• Hiruzen ordered Fugaku’s body given a proper burial, acknowledging him as Konoha’s Fifth Hokage.

Meanwhile, Uchiha Itachi, Sasuke, Mikoto, and Uchiha Izumi struggled through the forest as they fled with Mikoto unconscious.

• Choza Akimichi nominated Hyuga Hiashi for Hokage, but Hiashi said he planned to take his own life after purging the Hyuga Main Family.
• Hiruzen Sarutobi and the clan heads persuaded Hiashi to serve as Acting Hokage until Tsunade returned, and Konoha's ninja greeted him in the role.
• Obito Uchiha, Black Zetsu, and White Zetsu watched Konoha, and Black Zetsu explained that Hiashi had borrowed power from the Giant Tenseigan and was beyond Kage.
• Obito decided to leave Konoha alone and focus on capturing the tailed beasts for the Eye of the Moon Plan, leaving Hiashi for Nagato to handle.

Itachi sent Mikoto, Izumi, and Sasuke toward the Hyūga secret passage while he stayed behind to face Konoha’s pursuers, awakening his Mangekyō Sharingan and summoning Susanoo. The next morning in Iwagakure, Lin Ze learned the Uchiha clan had been wiped out and that Tashihime had obtained Sasuke’s and Naruto’s cells.

• Little Black gave Itachi Fugaku’s Mangekyō Sharingan and told him that Fugaku had died holding back their pursuers.
• Itachi ordered Izumi to take Mikoto and Sasuke east toward the Hyūga secret passage, then stayed behind as his Mangekyō Sharingan began to awaken.
• Shikaku Nara and twenty-one jōnin surrounded Itachi and urged him to surrender.
• Itachi awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan fully and summoned Susanoo, carrying the Yata Mirror and Totsuka Blade.
• In Iwagakure, Lin Ze received Tashihime’s message that Sasuke’s and Naruto’s cell samples had been obtained.

Lin Ze monitored Deidara in Iwagakure while considering how the Hyuga Clan’s rise and Itachi’s possible arrival would affect his plans. After three days, Deidara used a clay shadow clone and a hidden tunnel to escape, and Lin Ze set off after him.

• Lin Ze read that Hiashi had become Acting Hokage with the Giant Tenseigan’s power, while Itachi had fled toward Dragon Release Village after killing Shikaku Nara and the pursuing Jōnin.
• Lin Ze decided to keep monitoring Deidara and use the time to grow accustomed to his Genbu Shadow Clone.
• After three days confined in Iwagakure, Deidara created a clay shadow clone to distract the ANBU guarding his courtyard.

Lin Ze confronted Deidara in the Gobi and used the encounter to study Explosion Release. After Deidara deployed C4 Garuda, Lin Ze froze the microscopic bombs before they could detonate.

• Deidara escaped from Iwagakure and tested his C3 No. 18 clay centipede in the Gobi.
• Lin Ze blocked the centipede’s explosion with an ice wall, then trapped Deidara’s C2 Dragon and bomb in an ice prison.
• Deidara attacked with a C1 Spider Swarm, while Lin Ze dodged and observed its chakra before shielding himself with a Water Formation Wall.
• Lin Ze taunted Deidara, who responded by unleashing his C4 Garuda self-destructing clone.

Lin Ze collected Deidara’s cells after defeating his Explosion Release attack, then set out to find Han. Meanwhile, Konoha prepared for threats after the massacre, as Kumogakure’s Fourth Raikage ordered an invasion of the Land of Fire.

• Lin Ze froze Deidara, took a sample of his cells, and let him escape after collecting combat data on Explosion Release.
• Lin Ze decided to seek out Han, the Five-Tails jinchūriki, before Roshi.
• Hyuga Hiashi told Konoha’s leaders that the village had lost the Uchiha Clan and many shinobi, then ordered ANBU to find Jiraiya and Tsunade and clans to prepare for war.
• Kumogakure’s Fourth Raikage dismissed Mabui’s warning about Hyuga Hiashi and ordered the army to march toward the Land of Fire.

Kirigakure, Iwagakure, and Sunagakure chose not to attack Konoha after learning of its turmoil, preferring to rebuild or wait for an opening. In Amegakure, Pain and Konan concluded that the man claiming to be Madara Uchiha was an impostor, but decided to keep using him.

• Genji ordered Kirigakure to withdraw its defensive lines and stop provoking Konoha, then began drafting a document for Mei Terumi to shoulder more responsibility.
• Ōnoki rejected an attack on Konoha because Iwagakure had lost its Four-Tails and Five-Tails Jinchūriki, and ordered stronger border defenses instead.
• Rasa refused Chiyo's suggestion to attack Konoha and chose to wait, while briefly wondering whether Shukaku's power had weakened.
• Pain read Konan's report about the Uchiha Clan Massacre and Hyuga Hiashi's rise to acting Hokage.
• Pain and Konan agreed that the man calling himself Madara Uchiha was not the real Madara, but Pain decided to keep him useful to the Akatsuki.

Pain decided to master the Rinnegan sooner because of the threat posed by Azure Dragon Lin Ze and Hyuga Hiashi. Lin Ze left his surveillance of the Five-Tails to meet Uchiha Itachi, who had arrived at Dragon Release Village seeking to join him.

• Pain said he needed to master the Rinnegan quickly and ordered Konan to recruit missing-nin at least as strong as Kage, while dismissing Madara Uchiha as a clown.
• Lin Ze’s Genbu Shadow Clone watched the Five-Tails Jinchuriki, Han, training near a hot spring in the Land of Earth.
• Tagitsuhime arrived and told Lin Ze that Uchiha Itachi and three other Uchiha had come to Dragon Release Village, and that Itachi appeared to have awakened the Mangekyō.
• Lin Ze left Tagitsuhime to guard his shadow clone and traveled to Dragon Release Village in his original body.
• Lin Ze entered the reception room, where Uchiha Itachi recognized the oppressive presence of the God of Shinobi.

Uchiha Itachi joined Dragon Release Village and agreed to fuse his Mangekyō Sharingan with his father's eyes while recovering from his injuries. At the hospital, Lin Ze reflected on Sasuke's changed life and wondered what would happen when Sasuke reunited with Naruto.

• Lin Ze welcomed Uchiha Itachi and told him that Mikoto, Sasuke, and Izumi were receiving treatment at the hospital.
• Itachi asked to join Dragon Release Village to protect his family and offered his Mangekyō Sharingan as proof of sincerity.
• Lin Ze told Itachi that Ryota Uchiha was fusing his eternal eyes and that Crescent Moon had already completed the process.

• Lin Ze and Kimimaro visited Kabuto’s laboratory, where Kabuto showed them Kimimaro’s completed clone with bone horns and stronger bodily traits.

Lin Ze arranged senjutsu training for Kimimaro, Haku, and Jūgo, checked on Ryōta Uchiha’s eye fusion, and began pursuing Roshi to obtain the Four-Tails’ chakra. As Lin Ze approached Roshi at a volcano, Son Gokū sensed the dangerous natural energy and warned him.

• Lin Ze told Kimimaro to bring Haku and Jūgo to Ryūchi Cave for senjutsu training and ordered Kimimaro to focus on adjusting to his new body first.
• Lin Ze and Kabuto checked Ryōta Uchiha’s stable eye fusion, which had reached thirty-eight percent, and Lin Ze instructed Kabuto to keep monitoring him.
• Uchiha Itachi began fusing the Mangekyō Sharingan his father, Uchiha Fugaku, had given him to pursue the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

• Roshi sensed Lin Ze approaching and raised a granite wall, but Lin Ze landed nearby and revealed his senjutsu Ice Release.
• Roshi attacked with lava fireballs, and Lin Ze blocked them with an ice wall before wounding Roshi with ice spikes and a punch.

• Lin Ze sensed Fū and found that the Seven-Tails seal inside her was intact, so he decided Uchiha Itachi and Ryōta would handle taking the beast's chakra.
• Hyuga Hiashi told Konoha's clan leaders that Kumogakure had advanced within thirty li with five thousand ninja, including Fourth Raikage A, Killer B, and Yugito Nii.
