Main World.
Summer, Year 24 of Konoha.
Planet No. 1, the Main Hall of the Mechanical God Cult.
This was no longer the crude wooden base it had once been. Two years had been enough to turn a wasteland into a small city. The Main Hall of the Mechanical God Cult stood at the city's highest point, built entirely of grayish-white stone, its sharp edges and hard lines full of the Empire's architectural style. Set into the great hall's dome was a massive dark red crystal-the "God Eye" Sasori had made himself, said to be capable of sensing energy fluctuations throughout the city.
Sasori stood in the center of the great hall, his deep purple, high-collared uniform immaculate, his rimless glasses reflecting the light from the dome. Behind him stood a row of people in dark gray uniforms-men and women, old and young, but their eyes were all alike: calm, focused, without hesitation. They were the senior officials Sasori had trained, the Mechanical God Cult's representatives on Planet No. 1.
The doors were pushed open.
Toyotomi Yinglang walked in, his moon-white Kariginu giving off a cold white sheen in the dark red light. His steps were unhurried, his gaze sweeping the great hall before finally settling on Sasori.
"Teacher." Sasori turned and bowed slightly.
"Rise." Toyotomi Yinglang walked to the center of the great hall and looked up at the enormous "God Eye" in the dome. "What does this thing do?"
"Sensing." Sasori's voice was calm. "It can sense energy fluctuations throughout the city. Chakra, physical energy, life force-all fall within its range. Who is fighting, who is training, who is sick, who is dying-it knows all of it."
A satisfied smile curved Toyotomi Yinglang's lips. "Good."
He turned to look at the row of people in dark gray uniforms.
