Inazuma's official ship slowly entered the harbor and came to a stop under the direction of the dock foreman at Liyue Harbor.
The docks of Liyue were packed with people. Aside from Liyue's officials, a huge crowd of onlookers had gathered to watch. After all, it was very rare for another nation's highest leader to visit Liyue, and everyone wanted to see what Inazuma's highest leader looked like.
This reception was several notches grander than the one held for Childe back then.
That was perfectly reasonable. After all, Childe was merely the lowest-ranked Fatui Harbinger, with ten others and the Tsaritsa above him. This time, however, the visitor was Inazuma's Regent, with only the Raiden Shogun above him.
Only the Tianquan, Ningguang, could meet someone of that rank as an equal. The problem was that, within Liyue's official hierarchy, all members of the Liyue Qixing held equal standing. Although the current Qixing regarded Ningguang as their leader, her actual position still fell slightly short of Yucheng's, because Liyue had no official post above the Qixing.
Thus, if one Tianquan was not enough, they would add a Yuheng. If that still was not enough, they would add the Qixing's secretary to welcome him together. Only then would the reception be on equal footing.
As the cabin doors aboard Inazuma's official ship opened, a man and two women were the first to emerge. Both women stood slightly behind the man, reflecting their relative ranks.
The instant the crowd saw the man, they could not help exclaiming in surprise. This Regent was far too young! He brimmed with youthful vigor. Was he even twenty? How had someone so young become Regent?
But once they remembered the many legends of great youkai in Inazuma, their doubts slowly faded. Weren't Liyue's own higher-ups young too?
