The Thousand-Armed, Hundred-Eyed Statue was a product of the Vision Hunt Decree. Recesses had been prepared in the statue specifically to hold confiscated Visions.
The statue stood on high ground in Inazuma, with the Raiden Shogun's Tenshukaku to either side and the Kujou Estate behind it to the right. The grim, oppressive atmosphere created by erecting a towering statue of the Electro Archon in such an important location was easy to imagine.
That was also why, despite there being no guards around the statue to watch over the Visions, no one dared steal them back. Anyone harboring crooked intentions near Tenshukaku must have had no fear of being struck dead by lightning. Those thieves were only after money; they were not fools.
In that atmosphere, even Inazuma natives would unconsciously stop talking as they passed through, then quicken their steps without realizing it.
Yet now, the normally solemn site was packed with spectators. The reason was simple: this was a Vision Hunt Ceremony that the Raiden Shogun would attend. To ordinary citizens, watching a Vision being confiscated was merely entertainment. How could that compare to seeing the Raiden Shogun herself?
It had to be said that, despite the state to which the Raiden Shogun had brought Inazuma, her prestige and popularity within Inazuma City remained as high as ever. Perhaps it was because she was the object of their faith, or perhaps it was her astonishing martial prowess. There was always some reason for them to idolize her.
However, among the spectators this time was a group with different thoughts. Their gazes had never left the imposing Thousand-Armed, Hundred-Eyed Statue-or, more precisely, particular recesses on the statue, where their wishes lay embedded.
