Ch. 201The beginning

Eula oversaw the arrest of Lawrence Clan members in Mondstadt as the Knights prepared for battle against the Fatui. When two Fatui Agents tried to seize the city gate during a shift change, Amber exposed them, and the Agents discovered a large force waiting inside the city.

  • The Knights of Favonius arrested Lawrence Clan members hiding in Mondstadt and brought them before Eula at Anemo Archon Plaza.
  • Eula watched her captured kin and resolved to purge the Lawrence Clan of those obstructing its atonement.
  • A Fatui noncommissioned officer warned eager recruits to wait for the Agents to open Mondstadt's gate before launching the attack.
  • Two inspector-rank Fatui Agents approached the main gate during the guards' shift change while other Fatui soldiers prepared an ice bridge across Cider Lake.
  • Amber revealed the Agents with flaming arrows, and the knights raised the alarm and ran to close the gate.
  • One Agent attacked the gate while the other fired a signal flare, but they found a large force waiting just inside Mondstadt City.

Ch. 202Art is an Explosion!

Amber’s signal detonated Klee’s bombs beneath Mondstadt’s bridge, devastating the Fatui advance and cutting off the city’s main gate. As the Fatui pressed on, Jean rallied the Knights to defend Mondstadt while Diluc and Kaeya prepared to fight them at the side gate.

  • Amber fired a flaming arrow beneath the bridge, detonating the Jumpy Dumpties Jean had placed there and killing or injuring many Fatui soldiers while destroying the bridge.
  • Jean decided Klee must never again be allowed near such dangerous weapons, then rallied the Knights of Favonius to defend Mondstadt as the Fatui advanced behind elemental shields.
  • A Cryo Gun Heavy Guard laid an ice path across Cider Lake, bringing the Fatui to Mondstadt’s side gate.
  • Diluc charged the Fatui force with Wolf’s Gravestone, and Kaeya led his squad after him.

Ch. 203Fierce battle

The Knights of Favonius fought the Fatui outside Mondstadt, with Lisa, Razor, Noelle, and other knights holding the line until the Fatui’s numbers and the defenders’ exhaustion forced a retreat behind the city walls. Jean prepared to defend Mondstadt from the walls while Barbara treated the wounded and reported the casualties.

  • The Fatui recovered from Klee’s opening bombardment and advanced in coordinated six-member squads using different elements.
  • Lisa, Razor, Noelle, Amber, Sucrose, Albedo, and Jean fought the Fatui, while Klee stayed inside the city.
  • Jean recruited Bennett, Fischl, and Mona to aid the defense, but the Knights began to tire as the Fatui pressed forward and another force threatened the side gate.
  • The Knights of Favonius retreated into Mondstadt and prepared to fight a defensive battle from behind the walls.
  • Barbara treated the wounded and told Jean that twelve knights had died, twenty-six were injured, and six of the wounded could no longer fight.

Ch. 204The Doctor's Backup Plan

Jean organized Mondstadt’s defense, recruited Klee to supply her Jumpy Dumpties, and reassured Barbara that the city would fight for its freedom. Sergei then used three mechanical birds provided by The Doctor to unleash three apparent copies of Ursa over Mondstadt, leaving the city trapped beneath the dragons as the Fatui retreated.

  • Jean ordered the knights to defend in shifts after learning that Kaeya and Diluc had safely withdrawn into Mondstadt with light casualties.
  • Jean comforted Barbara and assigned Klee to gather her hidden Jumpy Dumpties instead of fighting.
  • Klee retrieved her stashes of Jumpy Dumpties and returned to her confinement room.
  • Sergei activated three mechanical birds from The Doctor, which spread powder around Mondstadt before disappearing into Cider Lake.
  • Three dark-red dragons appeared over Mondstadt, and Sergei signaled the Fatui to retreat.
  • Diluc recognized the dragons as Ursa and wondered why there were three.

Ch. 205A true dead end

As three versions of Ursa the Dread Dragon attacked Mondstadt, Yucheng explained to Barbatos that The Doctor’s Segment Reincarnation Technology could have been used to duplicate the dragon. Barbatos decided he would intervene if necessary, while the city fell into panic and a red-haired man attacked one dragon’s wing.

  • Barbatos watched the battle from the Cathedral of Favonius rooftop until three Ursa Dread Dragons appeared over Mondstadt.
  • Yucheng told Barbatos that The Doctor had developed Segment Reincarnation Technology and might have used it to create multiple Ursas.
  • Barbatos said he would no longer stand aside now that a dragon had entered the human war, but wanted to see how Mondstadt faced a dead end.
  • The three Ursas attacked Mondstadt with dragonfire, terrifying residents and leaving them trapped after the bridge was destroyed.
  • A red-haired man in black leaped from a tall building and struck the wing of a low-flying Ursa with his greatsword.

Ch. 206Dvalin's support

Diluc and Jean received Barbatos’s blessing and led Mondstadt’s fighters into the air against the three Dread Dragons Ursa. As the battle grew desperate, Barbatos summoned Dvalin, who arrived in time to save the knights and turn the crowd’s fear into cheers.

  • Diluc wounded a Dread Dragon Ursa but was thrown off, so he called on the Bard to help him fight.
  • Barbatos blessed Diluc’s Wind Glider, allowing him to fly, and Jean recognized the Anemo Archon’s presence.
  • Jean received Barbatos’s blessing and led Kaeya, Eula, Lisa, Amber, Noelle, Bennett, and other knights into battle.
  • Diluc and the knights struggled against the three Dread Dragons Ursa, while Barbatos summoned Dvalin from Stormterror’s Lair.
  • Dvalin arrived above Mondstadt and knocked one Dread Dragon Ursa into Cider Lake, prompting the people to cheer.

Ch. 207The falling black sun

Dvalin joined the battle over Mondstadt and fought Ursa while Diluc attacked the Dread Dragon who had killed his father. Ursa unleashed a meteor shower toward the city, and Jean ordered the Knights to intercept it.

  • Dvalin fought Ursa in the sky and drew their battle away from Mondstadt City.
  • Diluc recognized the scar left by Crepus on the Dread Dragon he faced and attacked him with Dragon Strike.
  • Ursa endured Diluc’s attacks, heated his body to drive Diluc away, and gathered dark red dragonfire.
  • Ursa spat a black sun that burst into fireballs raining toward the Knights and Mondstadt City.
  • Jean ordered everyone to intercept the fireballs before they reached the city.

Ch. 208Forced to Act

Jean, Lisa, Fischl, and the other defenders fought to keep falling meteor fireballs from destroying Mondstadt City, but many still slipped through. Eula called on Uchiha Yucheng by threatening to expose what he had done to her, and he finally prepared to intervene.

  • Lisa used an Electro field to detonate meteor fireballs, while Jean directed the defenders to protect densely populated areas.
  • Fischl and Oz blasted fireballs, Jean and Sucrose diverted their paths, Albedo created stone slabs to trigger early explosions, and others used Jumpy Dumpties.
  • Eula realized that the Lawrence Clan’s reinforcements and three Dread Dragons had brought catastrophe to Mondstadt, and she wondered whether she could ever repay the harm.
  • As low-flying fireballs threatened the city, Eula shouted that she would tell everyone what Uchiha Yucheng had done to her if he did not help.
  • Yucheng, on the Cathedral of Favonius roof with Barbatos, awakened his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and enveloped Mondstadt City in an aura stronger than Ursa the Dread Dragon’s.

Ch. 209Coming to the rescue

Yucheng saved Mondstadt City from Ursa the Dread Dragon and extinguished the fires, then told Jean that his intervention had a price and risked being seen as interference in Mondstadt’s affairs. Diluc offered to have Dawn Winery cover the cost.

  • Yucheng summoned four water dragons from Cider Lake to chase Ursa, then dispersed them into rain that extinguished the fires across Mondstadt City.
  • The residents mistook Yucheng for Barbatos and thanked him as he vanished from the Cathedral of Favonius.
  • Yucheng appeared before Eula, who felt guilty despite thinking he had been the one at fault for peeking at her bathing.
  • Jean thanked Yucheng for his help, but he clarified that he had acted because Eula requested it and reminded Jean that his price was five percentage points in tariffs.
  • Jean realized the Fatui’s attack and three Dread Dragons had exceeded her expectations, while Diluc offered for Dawn Winery to pay Yucheng’s price.

Ch. 210Tearing a Dread Dragon Apart, Slaying Ursa with a Blade!

Yucheng forced Jean to agree to lower Mondstadt’s tariffs by demonstrating his overwhelming power against the Dread Dragon Ursa. He killed both dragons in minutes, leaving the Knights of Favonius stunned by the Regent of Inazuma’s strength.

  • Yucheng rebuked Diluc for trying to use his wealth to influence affairs of state, and Diluc apologized before stepping aside.
  • When a Dread Dragon Ursa attacked, Yucheng pierced its dragonfire and chest with Water Release: Water Severing Wave.
  • Jean agreed to lower tariffs by five percentage points in exchange for Yucheng’s help.
  • Yucheng knocked one Dread Dragon Ursa into Cider Lake, then captured the other in his Susanoo and tore it in half.
  • Yucheng stored the slain dragon’s corpse in his Kamui Dimension and cut down the fleeing Dread Dragon Ursa with a sword-energy slash.

Ch. 211The reckoning!

Yucheng left Mondstadt to pursue the last Dread Dragon Ursa while Jean led the Knights of Favonius to arrest the Lawrence Clan. Diluc confronted the wounded Ursa to avenge his father, and the Knights captured the Lawrence Clan and seized its hoarded treasures.

  • Yucheng displayed his Susanoo’s wings, sensed Ursa near Dragonspine, and flew away from Mondstadt.
  • Jean led the Knights of Favonius to the Lawrence Clan’s estate to arrest those responsible for the rebellion.
  • Diluc found the badly wounded Ursa in Brightcrown Canyon and attacked it, seeking revenge for his father.
  • Eula led the Knights into the Lawrence estate, where they captured the feasting Lawrence Clan members.
  • Eula led the Knights through the clan’s treasure vaults, and an elder dropped dead after seeing her lead them.

Ch. 212A target for venting emotions

After Mondstadt’s victory over Ursa, Eula became a target for the city’s grief and anger because of her Lawrence heritage. Seeking refuge at the Goth Grand Hotel, she was unexpectedly treated with respect by the Inazuma delegation and ushered toward their Regent.

  • Diluc returned to Mondstadt carrying Ursa’s severed head as residents admired him and the Knights of Favonius continued relief work.
  • Mondstadt mourned its dead, and residents blamed Eula for the Lawrence Clan’s rebellion, surrounding her and demanding that she pay for their losses.
  • Eula fled the hostile crowd and hid at Knights of Favonius headquarters, where her colleagues’ prejudice left her feeling unwelcome.
  • Eula went to the Goth Grand Hotel, where the Inazuma delegation regarded her with envy rather than contempt.
  • An Inazuma official respectfully offered to escort Eula to their Regent.

Ch. 213The Two Women Meet

Eula visited Yucheng at the Inazuma delegation’s quarters to ask about Ursa, the third Dread Dragon, and encountered Shenhe, Yucheng’s wife. Yucheng explained that he had captured a Dread Dragon to bring back to Inazuma.

  • An Inazuman official led Eula to Yucheng’s suite and told her that Shenhe was staying there too, wishing her luck in winning Shenhe’s approval.
  • Eula knocked on Yucheng’s door, interrupting him and Shenhe, and Yucheng warned Eula to watch what she said before inviting her inside.
  • Eula saw Shenhe emerge from the bedroom in pajamas and realized she might have interrupted the couple, while Shenhe formed a favorable first impression of her.
  • Eula asked Yucheng about Ursa, and he said he had captured the Dread Dragon to give Inazuma a dragon of its own.

Ch. 214Mondstadt's ambassador to Inazuma?

Yucheng explained to Eula why Mondstadt’s residents blamed her for the Lawrence Clan’s rebellion and suggested she could protect Mondstadt by serving as its ambassador to Inazuma. Shenhe invited Eula to come to Inazuma, and Eula left with her to consider the offer.

  • Eula asked Yucheng how he had become so powerful, and he described Vision bearers as potential gods and mentioned the Jester and the Doctor as humans with god-level strength.
  • Eula asked why Mondstadt’s residents still resented her, and Yucheng explained that they blamed the Lawrence Clan for the rebellion and could not know how she had helped protect the city.
  • Eula lamented that she had betrayed her clan and believed she had no place left in Mondstadt.
  • Shenhe invited Eula to join them in Inazuma, where her talents could help with reconstruction.
  • Yucheng suggested Eula serve as Mondstadt’s ambassador to Inazuma, and Shenhe took Eula’s hand to see her out.

Ch. 215Labeled a lecher?

Shenhe publicly escorted Eula through Mondstadt, prompting rumors about her relationship with Yucheng and drawing attention to the Regent. Meanwhile, Jean reported the rebellion to Barbatos, who praised her choices and rejected the idea that she should have accepted Yucheng’s harsh terms.

  • Shenhe took Eula’s hand and escorted her out of the hotel, leading the Inazuma delegation to assume she had accepted Eula.
  • Shenhe and Eula walked through Mondstadt together, and the knights intervened when people approached them while Eula resented the knights’ earlier indifference.
  • Mondstadt citizens speculated that Eula had won Yucheng’s favor and labeled him a lecher, while wealthy merchants and officials considered sending their daughters to approach him.
  • Jean reported the rebellion’s damage and casualties to Barbatos, blaming herself for not accepting Yucheng’s demands.
  • Barbatos praised Jean’s leadership during the attacks and said he would have been disappointed if she had asked Yucheng to intervene.

Ch. 216The Courage to Fight for Freedom

Barbatos told Jean how Vanessa fought to win freedom for her people, using her story to affirm Jean’s resolve to protect Mondstadt. He urged Jean to grow stronger, then discussed Yucheng’s exceptional power and hinted at his inheritable bloodline before leaving to collect wine from Diluc.

  • Jean asked Barbatos why he had let Mondstadt suffer casualties, and he recounted waking to find the Lawrence Clan ruling the city and enslaving its people.
  • Barbatos described meeting Vanessa, who had fought eleven arena battles to free her tribe and refused his offer to rescue them, insisting that freedom had to be won through their own efforts.
  • Jean thanked Barbatos for his guidance, and he praised her courage while urging her to approach the strength of Varka and Diluc.
  • Jean asked why Yucheng was so powerful, and Barbatos called him an exception, considered visiting Inazuma, and mentioned his inheritable bloodline power.
  • Barbatos warned Jean not to act rashly, then left to claim the wine Diluc had promised him.

Ch. 217The talk of the town

Amber confronted Knights of Favonius gossiping that Eula was involved with the Inazuma Regent and might leave Mondstadt for Inazuma. She defended Eula’s choice to protect Mondstadt, then found Shenhe urging Eula to consider Inazuma as a new beginning.

  • Amber arrived at the Knights of Favonius headquarters and found knights eavesdropping on Eula and Shenhe.
  • Wood told Amber that Eula had visited the Goth Grand Hotel and returned with the Inazuma Regent's wife, prompting gossip about her relationship with the Regent.
  • Myles reported that Shenhe was trying to persuade Eula to move to Inazuma and that Eula seemed tempted.
  • Amber rebuked Myles and the other knights, defending Eula for choosing Mondstadt over her family and warning the city about the Lawrence Clan's rebellion.
  • Shenhe opened the room door and told Eula that Inazuma could be a new beginning for her.

Ch. 218Aftermath and troubles

Mondstadt struggled to recover from the attack while Jean wrestled with how to punish the Lawrence Clan without condemning its underage members. A rumor that Eula had used her relationship with Yucheng to influence the verdict drove angry residents to gather outside the Knights of Favonius headquarters, just as someone knocked on Jean’s office door.

  • Lisa and Albedo argued over how to divide Ursa the Dread Dragon’s remains as Mondstadt repaired the damage from the attack.
  • Jean ordered residents not to drink from Cider Lake until Sucrose and the others confirmed that Ursa’s blood and organs had not made its water harmful.
  • Jean considered the Lawrence Clan’s fate, weighing the demand to punish its adult members against her refusal to condemn the children by association.
  • Eula refused to take in Lawrence Clan members older than seven, leaving Jean uncertain how to deal with the remaining minors.
  • A rumor spread that Eula had become Yucheng’s woman and persuaded him to pressure the Knights of Favonius into delaying their verdict.
  • Angry residents gathered outside Knights of Favonius headquarters to demand an explanation from Jean, and someone knocked on her office door.

Ch. 219A late-night visit

Yucheng visited Jean late at night and showed her how secretaries could relieve her of routine paperwork, prompting her to reconsider how she spent her time. He then brought Eula to Jean, who handed over a resignation letter, leaving Jean shocked.

  • Yucheng found Jean working late and pointed out how much routine paperwork had piled up on her desk.
  • Yucheng explained that he and Ningguang relied on secretaries to organize affairs, and Jean realized she needed someone to handle minor tasks.
  • Jean reflected on how paperwork had stalled her training and widened the gap between her combat strength and Diluc's.
  • Yucheng called Eula into the office, and she handed Jean a letter before collapsing from exhaustion.
  • Jean opened the letter, saw it was a resignation, and urgently asked Eula if she was quitting.

Ch. 220Resignation letter

Eula gave Jean a resignation letter, explaining that she could no longer bear serving in Mondstadt after the Lawrence Clan’s coming judgment and the abuse she faced. Yucheng challenged Jean over her failure to support Eula publicly, leaving Jean questioning her leadership as Eula realized she might have fallen for Yucheng.

  • Eula submitted her resignation as captain of the Reconnaissance Company and said she intended to leave Mondstadt for Inazuma.
  • Jean asked whether Yucheng had influenced Eula, but Eula confirmed that leaving was her own choice and entrusted the twenty-one Lawrence children to Jean’s care.
  • Yucheng reminded Jean that Eula had received little recognition for her achievements and had endured accusations and abuse after helping defend Mondstadt from the Fatui.
  • Eula felt understood by Yucheng and realized she might be in love with him.
  • Jean recalled that few knights knew of Eula’s accomplishments and began doubting whether she was fit to be Acting Grand Master.
