Gu Qing and Xia Shuran faced a swarm of Mutant Giant Rats erupting from a pit at Haicheng University. As Hu Zhou watched in shock, Xia Shuran charged the rats with her Dragon Spear and Gu Qing formed a blood-red crossbow and launched a volley of arrows.

• Mutant Giant Rats poured from the playground pit and charged Gu Qing, Xia Shuran, and Hu Zhou.
• Xia Shuran overcame her fear, summoned her Dragon Spear, and prepared to fight beside Gu Qing.
• Hu Zhou broke a horizontal bar into two pieces and stepped in front of Xia Shuran to cover her retreat.

• Ma Dongyu watched the hole Huang Xiao Qing had escaped through and realized Huang was far more durable than she had believed.

• Ma Dongyu contacted Night Court Headquarters while Xia Shuran and Wu Jiahao examined the deep hole Huang Xiao Qing had dug.
• Huang Xiao Qing burst out of the ground, grew fleshy wings, and flew into the sky, but Gu Qing emerged and shot her through the chest with a blood-red bolt.
• A giant Mouse King burst from the sports field, swallowed the falling Huang Xiao Qing, and bit her in half when she tried to escape its mouth.

Gu Qing killed the Mouse King, but its corpse revived as a powerful Zombie Mouse King that resisted his attacks. As the group fled, Gu Qing intercepted its bone-blade tails, and Xia Shuran’s severed finger regenerated in a burst of blood mist.

• Gu Qing repeatedly shot the Mouse King’s corpse after killing it, while the others praised his strength and Xia Shuran offered him cookies.

• Gu Qing explored the underground tunnels beneath Haida, found only yellow-green mist and rat corpses, and told the gathered Transcendents that rats had hollowed out the ground beneath the campus.
• After Haida’s cleanup was nearly complete, Gu Qing and Xia Shuran rode to Night Court Headquarters ahead of Zhao Chuan, Wu Jiahao, and Liu Yue to report their mission.
