"Then I'm truly sorry." At their words, Otsutsuki Toneri's Tenseigan flickered slightly, and a faint, indifferent smile curved his lips.
Whether these men did not know Orochimaru's true identity or were acting on Orochimaru's orders made no difference.
He had to see Orochimaru today!
Judging by the little snake at the village entrance earlier, Orochimaru was definitely in Otogakure right now!
"Mr. Orochimaru, won't you come out and meet me? Don't blame me if I break these little fellows you've been keeping."
Then Otsutsuki Toneri raised his voice slightly and spoke slowly. With the help of chakra, his voice traveled throughout Otogakure.
He had no time to play hide-and-seek with Orochimaru!
Yet even after his voice echoed out, Orochimaru still showed no intention of coming out.
"Hmph! So you really are here to cause trouble. Kill him!" The Sound Ninja's expressions changed at his words, and they hurriedly charged toward Otsutsuki Toneri and his companions.
Otogakure was their village. They would never allow outsiders to cause trouble here!
At this, Yugito's and Otsutsuki Quxian's expressions darkened slightly.
Fire Rat Ball!
Yugito spat out several ghostly blue flaming mice, instantly striking the Sound Ninja. The Fire Rat Balls spread at once, burning them to ashes in the blink of an eye.
"You overestimated yourselves!" Yugito sneered, glancing at the spot where those men had just stood. They were nothing but a bunch of weaklings.
And they had actually dared to challenge Otsutsuki Toneri?
"It seems our Mr. Orochimaru has no intention of coming out. In that case..." Otsutsuki Toneri surveyed the silent Otogakure.
Clearly, Orochimaru had no intention of showing himself. Even the other Sound Ninja were nowhere to be seen.
Most likely, they had received orders from Orochimaru to stay put and wait for Otsutsuki Toneri and his two companions to leave on their own.
"Ape Rock!"
Enormous chakra surged around Otsutsuki Toneri, and a massive lava giant rose behind him, throwing its head back with a roar!
"Mr. Orochimaru, if you insist on refusing to see me, please don't blame me for being rude!" Otsutsuki Toneri spoke again in an even voice.
The lava giant behind him clenched its fist as well, ready to wreak havoc in Otogakure at any moment.
With one punch from it, this tiny Otogakure would probably be crippled, if not destroyed!
Not long after Otsutsuki Toneri finished speaking, a thin figure slowly emerged from a house nearby.
Long black hair, deathly pale skin, purple eyeshadow, a beige robe, and an eerie smile.
Everything about him radiated an unsettling air, far too sinister and dangerous!
He was someone who struck people as dangerous at first sight!
"Finally willing to come out, Mr. Orochimaru? It certainly isn't easy to meet you." Otsutsuki Toneri waved his hand, and the enormous Ape Rock slowly dissipated. With a half-smile, he watched Orochimaru walk toward them.
This man really refused to give up until he was left with no choice!
He had to be pushed.
"Hehehe... You must be joking, Toneri. So, what brings you here today?" Orochimaru fixed his golden eyes on Otsutsuki Toneri before asking with an unhurried chuckle.
His voice was very distinctive, hoarse and resonant, with a peculiar charm, as though it could reach straight into a person's heart.
After speaking, Orochimaru glanced at Otsutsuki Quxian and Yugito behind Otsutsuki Toneri and unconsciously licked his lips.
Not one of these three was ordinary!
Such perfect vessels for reincarnation... But...
Orochimaru looked at Otsutsuki Toneri and Otsutsuki Quxian with concealed eagerness. They were so young, at just the right age for reincarnation.
But Orochimaru knew very well that unless he came up with a plan, he was no match for these two children who almost made his hair stand on end!

Chapter 81: Mr. Orochimaru, you were once a member of Akatsuki, correct? Fourteenth update!
"Naturally, I've come to see you about something important, Mr. Orochimaru. But standing here to talk seems a little inappropriate, doesn't it?" Ignoring Orochimaru's burning gaze, Otsutsuki Toneri glanced around and smiled.
Orochimaru's Living Corpse Reincarnation used other people's young bodies to prolong his own life.
With Otsutsuki Toneri possessing such terrifying strength at such a young age, it was only natural for Orochimaru to covet him.
However, Otsutsuki Toneri was not particularly concerned. Orochimaru had ambition and the bearing of a powerful man, but he lacked the most important thing!

"Hehehe... How inhospitable of me. Please follow me, all three of you." Orochimaru smiled, though a smile on that face of his was still rather frightening.
Although he did not know exactly why Otsutsuki Toneri had come looking for him, that no longer mattered. Otogakure was the fruit of his painstaking efforts.
If Otsutsuki Toneri really destroyed it, his future goals would be delayed for a long time.
He still needed Otogakure to accomplish his aims.
Orochimaru then led Otsutsuki Toneri and his two companions into a clean house. Cautious by nature, he naturally would not take Otsutsuki Toneri to his underground research laboratory in Otogakure!
Even though, for the moment, Otsutsuki Toneri seemed to harbor no ill will toward him.
"So, Toneri, can you tell me now? Your purpose." Orochimaru asked Otsutsuki Toneri curiously.
He truly was very curious about why Otsutsuki Toneri had come looking for him.
He had first learned of Otsutsuki Toneri through the news that Konoha and Kumogakure had jointly issued a warrant for him.
He had then sent people to investigate Otsutsuki Toneri, only afterward learning a little about him.
A monster not even ten years old had launched a direct assault on Kumogakure!
It sounded utterly preposterous!
But judging by what he had seen today, that information was probably true...
"Of course. I came to see you today mainly because there are two matters I need your help with, Mr. Orochimaru." Otsutsuki Toneri smiled, then spoke calmly.
Orochimaru certainly was impatient. Still, that made sense. His origins and purpose were unknown, and he was exceptionally powerful to boot.
It was only natural that Orochimaru wanted to understand his purpose.
"Oh?" Orochimaru pondered briefly at his words, an unreadable gleam flickering in his golden, slit-pupiled eyes.
He was considering what could have brought this terrifying little monster to seek his help.
But he had too little information to work it out.
"Please go ahead, Toneri. If I can help you, I certainly won't refuse." Orochimaru then licked his lips and looked at Otsutsuki Toneri with a sinister smile.
Whatever Otsutsuki Toneri's purpose was, this was also an opportunity for him!
"Then thank you, Mr. Orochimaru. I've heard that you were once a member of Akatsuki. Is that correct?" Otsutsuki Toneri smiled at his words, then paused briefly to organize his thoughts before asking with a smile.
Orochimaru's words were something to hear and forget. Anyone who took them seriously would be a real fool.
How could an ambitious schemer like Orochimaru possibly help someone without asking for anything in return?
But Otsutsuki Toneri had come prepared, so he did not mind.
Upon hearing Otsutsuki Toneri's words, Orochimaru's golden pupils abruptly contracted. He instinctively frowned and stared at Otsutsuki Toneri.
He had indeed joined Akatsuki, but how did Otsutsuki Toneri know?
That was not the main issue, though. Otsutsuki Toneri's purpose in coming actually involved Akatsuki?
To be honest, Orochimaru currently wanted no contact whatsoever with Akatsuki. There was far too much beneath that organization's surface.
"What's wrong, Mr. Orochimaru?" Seeing Orochimaru's expression, Otsutsuki Toneri could not help giving a faint smile.
Of course he understood why Orochimaru's expression had changed so dramatically. He was now a traitor to Akatsuki!
Orochimaru had initially joined Akatsuki because of Pain's Rinnegan!
He coveted those legendary eyes of a god, so he had accepted Pain's invitation to join Akatsuki. Later, however, he had realized that his chances of obtaining the Rinnegan were far too slim.
He had then set his sights on the Mangekyō Sharingan of Uchiha Itachi, who had only recently joined Akatsuki.
However, because of the damage his reincarnation technique had done to his soul, he had been defeated by Uchiha Itachi's genjutsu. And because he had been the first to attack a fellow Akatsuki member,
he had no choice but to defect from Akatsuki.
However, because of Orochimaru's strength and how troublesome he was to deal with, Akatsuki had no intention of taking action against him for the time being.
"You're correct, Toneri. I did join Akatsuki for a time, but may I ask how you learned of this?" At his words, Orochimaru narrowed his eyes, staring at Otsutsuki Toneri as he spoke evenly.
He was beginning to have some ideas!
"Don't be nervous, Mr. Orochimaru. I'm not a member of Akatsuki, so you can rest assured. As for that information, I only came across it by chance." Noticing the change in Orochimaru's aura, Otsutsuki Toneri reassured him.
