Otsutsuki Toneri left the moon, gained power from Kaguya and the Nine-Tails, and sought Byakugan in Konoha while making allies and bargains. After refusing to return the stolen eyes and escaping the Hokage’s forces, he set out for Kumogakure and encountered Tsunade.

• Otsutsuki Toneri awakened the Rinnegan in his palm, met Kaguya Otsutsuki, and received her chakra and memories of her techniques to help evolve his eyes.
• Otsutsuki Yuku brought Otsutsuki Toneri and Otsutsuki Quxian to the Land of Fire, where Toneri killed a group of bandits and persuaded his father to let him stay in the Shinobi World.
• Otsutsuki Toneri and Otsutsuki Quxian reached Konoha with Kurenai Yuhi and Asuma Sarutobi, and Toneri gained Nine-Tails chakra after meeting Naruto and speaking with the beast inside him.
• Otsutsuki Toneri comforted Hinata Hyuga and declared that she would be his wife, then met Hiruzen Sarutobi and refused to reveal where the Ōtsutsuki Clan lived.
• Otsutsuki Toneri attacked a Root operative, learned the location of Root’s headquarters, and negotiated with Shimura Danzō for Byakugan in exchange for help against Hiruzen Sarutobi.
• Otsutsuki Quxian defeated Might Guy in a spar, while Otsutsuki Toneri gave Kurama Yakumo his bloodline and promised to return for her after she trained.
• Shimura Danzō gave Otsutsuki Toneri two pairs of Byakugan taken from Hyuga Main Family children, and Toneri transplanted one pair before refusing Hiruzen Sarutobi’s demand to return them.
• Otsutsuki Toneri summoned two monsters and escaped Konoha with Otsutsuki Quxian, then chose Kumogakure as his next destination and encountered Tsunade at an inn.

Otsutsuki Toneri took Matatabi from Kumogakure, secured a place for himself and his companions in Kirigakure, and helped Mei Terumi eliminate her political opposition. He then sought Orochimaru’s help with reviving Minato and entered Akatsuki’s hall, where he challenged its members before accepting Pain’s invitation.

• Otsutsuki Toneri attacked Kumogakure, took Matatabi with him, and brought Yugito along before traveling to the Land of Water.
• Otsutsuki Toneri sealed Isobu and offered the Three-Tails to Mei Terumi in exchange for a place in Kirigakure for himself, Otsutsuki Quxian, and Yugito.
• Otsutsuki Toneri met Black Zetsu and agreed to support his plan to revive Kaguya Otsutsuki, while revealing that he had a lead on her seal.
• Otsutsuki Toneri helped Mei Terumi abolish the Council of Elders and kill the officials and clans opposing her rule.
• Otsutsuki Toneri left Kirigakure, visited Orochimaru, and asked him to find a way to revive Minato Namikaze despite the Reaper Death Seal.

Otsutsuki Toneri joined Akatsuki, captured Roshi, and returned to Konoha for the Chunin Ninja Exams with his companions. As the exams progressed, he recruited Kurama Yakumo, intervened in several encounters, and prepared to face Ino Yamanaka.

• Otsutsuki Toneri defeated Akatsuki’s fighters with Ape Rock, accepted Pain’s invitation to join, and privately questioned Nagato’s pursuit of peace through violence.
• Otsutsuki Toneri captured Roshi and the Four-Tails with Susanoo, then returned to Kirigakure and spent five years there with Mei Terumi.
• Otsutsuki Toneri traveled to Konoha for the Chunin Ninja Exams, reunited with Kurama Yakumo, and brought her and her parents to Kirigakure.
• Otsutsuki Toneri met Danzo at Root and agreed to respond as events demanded during the exams, while asking him to obtain more Byakugan.

Otsutsuki Toneri helped Orochimaru destroy Konoha, then gathered allies, learned Sage Mode, and brought Kaguya Otsutsuki’s chakra beyond her seal. As Toneri pursued his plans and guided Sasuke toward Orochimaru, Sasuke left Konoha and clashed with Naruto at the Valley of the End.

• Otsutsuki Toneri assaulted Ino Yamanaka in his mental world, then courted Hinata Hyuga as the Chunin Ninja Exams continued.
• During the finals, Otsutsuki Toneri joined Orochimaru’s attack on Konoha, defeated Jiraiya, and destroyed the arena with a Final Truth-Seeking Orb.
• Otsutsuki Toneri killed Hiruzen Sarutobi before he could seal Orochimaru, then traveled to Otogakure and helped Orochimaru undo the Reaper Death Seal.
• Otsutsuki Toneri recruited the Nine-Tails, traveled with Orochimaru’s group to Ryūchi Cave, and mastered Sage Mode with Otsutsuki Quxian and Kurama Yakumo.
• Otsutsuki Toneri went to the moon, killed Otsutsuki Hanei, and reunited with Kaguya Otsutsuki, whose chakra he brought beyond her seal.
• Otsutsuki Toneri absorbed the Giant Tenseigan’s ocular power, confronted Tsunade, and later urged Sasuke to leave Konoha and seek Orochimaru’s training.
