Everyone's eyes were fixed on the black sedan.
The door opened, and the guest stepped out, his appearance and outfit gradually coming into view.
He stood 1.8 meters tall, with a neat hairstyle, a gray hoodie, loose jeans, and white casual sneakers-the very picture of a youthful college guy.
"Ye Yizhou!"
The guests cried out in surprise once they got a clear look at the surprise guest.
The livestream comments went from "?" to a unanimous "!".
Anyone who didn't know better might have thought Ye Yizhou's arrival had synchronized everyone's comments.
[Huh? Why?]
[But he's so pretty, such a college guy. I love him ahhhh.]
[Who knows whose boots he licked to get a spot on the show.]
[Everyone's already paired up. What's Ye Yizhou doing here? Forcing a love triangle?]
[Get lost, Ye Yizhou. My fave already has a ship. Throwing yourself at him is disgusting.]
The comments were vicious toward Ye Yizhou.
Ye Yizhou didn't see them, nor did he care. He greeted everyone with a smile. "Hi, everyone! I didn't realize I was so famous. Looks like you all know me, so I can skip introducing myself, right?"
Everyone reacted differently to his words.
"Ha, ha. You certainly are famous."
Sang Xiangwan gave two dry chuckles and offered an awkward but polite smile.
Everyone there, and even the viewers watching the livestream, knew Ye Yizhou was famous.
It just wasn't a good kind of fame.
"Now that all our guests are here, let's get on the bus!"
Director Ji moved things along, pointing at the minibus beside them.
The guests boarded one after another. Ye Yizhou waited unhurriedly until last.
Song Jincheng and Jiang Chuyu naturally sat together. For some reason, the other two couples sat on opposite sides, each taking an aisle seat.
Whatever else might be said, it certainly gave everyone something to discuss.
When Ye Yizhou boarded, all eyes turned to him.
[This seating arrangement is a little telling.]
[The others are all sitting in the aisle seats. Clearly, they don't want to sit with Ye Yizhou either.]
[Who wants a clout-chasing leech like him latching on to them?]
[He'll definitely shamelessly squeeze in beside someone. He'll do anything for attention.]
The comments speculated about which seat Ye Yizhou would choose, as ready as ever to assume the worst of his every move.
Yet Ye Yizhou went straight to the long back row without so much as a sideways glance and sat down.
Even then, the viewers he had proved wrong stubbornly kept insulting him: What an act. Let's see how long he can keep it up.
The minibus slowly drove into the villa complex.
"If we could drive straight in, why did we have to switch to a minibus at the entrance?"
Jiang Chuyu glanced at the scenery outside the window, then turned toward the director and asked in confusion.
"Is there some group task planned for the ride?"
The others started guessing too.
"Or are there clues hidden on the bus that unlock a task?"
Everyone waited expectantly for Director Ji's answer. Only Ye Yizhou looked out the window with a slightly bored expression, before his eyes suddenly lit up.
"First of all, playing games in a moving vehicle is unsafe. Safety has to come first."
Director Ji took personal safety very seriously. It was a responsibility not only to others, but to himself as well.
Then he gave them a plain, unglamorous reason.
"The reason we switched to a minibus is..."
Director Ji knew how to build suspense. He deliberately drew out his words to keep everyone waiting. "This villa complex has very strict entry and exit registration procedures. Registering just one vehicle took a tremendous amount of effort."
"If it were a dozen vehicles, frankly, I might not be able to manage it."
Speaking of this left Director Ji feeling deeply defeated.
It was a reason none of them had expected.
"Stop the bus."
Ye Yizhou suddenly called out loudly, a note of urgency in his voice.
The others looked back at Ye Yizhou in confusion.
"Stop the bus," Ye Yizhou called again.
The driver ignored him. Director Ji glanced at Ye Yizhou, and although he didn't know what was wrong, he quickly turned and called to the driver, "Stop, stop!"
At the director's command, the driver instinctively stepped on the brake.
The next second, the driver saw a large dog suddenly dart out of the flower bed beside them and leap into the middle of the road a short distance ahead. Startled, he hurriedly swerved and slammed the brake pedal all the way down.
The sudden braking sent everyone on the bus pitching forward, and the camera shook violently.
Since the livestream camera was pointed at the guests, the viewers weren't quite sure what had happened.
But with the shaking camera and the piercing screech of tires scraping against the ground, they could roughly guess that something had happened in front of the bus.
Fortunately, the minibus came to a firm stop before hitting the large dog.
Only then did the driver let out a long breath, his heart pounding rapidly from the tension.
"Thank goodness we didn't hit it."
Director Ji had only managed to steady himself by gripping the handle in front of his seat. After checking the situation ahead of the minibus, he breathed a sigh of relief.
This was a wealthy neighborhood. If they had hit it, he couldn't afford to pay for the dog, nor could he afford to offend its owner.
Even if the dog had darted out on its own, once something happened, anyone would inevitably feel upset about it.
If things had been worse, the vehicle might have hit a tree after a sudden impact or while taking evasive action, or overturned from a sharp turn of the wheel, or suffered some other damage that ultimately injured the guests on board.
None of those consequences were anything he could bear.
The best outcome was for everyone to be safe.
"Is everyone all right?"
Once the bus had stopped completely, Director Ji hurriedly checked on everyone.
"I'm fine. Just startled."
Everyone shook their heads repeatedly. Mostly, they had just had a fright.
"Good thing Ye Yizhou called for us to stop in advance. Otherwise, who knows what might have happened."
Pei Lan couldn't help remarking on it. She turned back toward Ye Yizhou and said, "Thank goodness you noticed. Otherwise, we definitely would have hit it..."
Pei Lan noticed that Ye Yizhou's expression looked terrible, as though he was angry. Her voice unconsciously grew quieter until she finally shut her mouth and looked at him nervously.
The sudden stop had jolted both the cameraman and his camera, blurring the footage.
Once he had steadied himself, the crew hurriedly adjusted the camera and continued the livestream. The first shot was aimed straight at Ye Yizhou.
The loose hair over Ye Yizhou's forehead cast shadows beneath his eyes. A trace of anger and coldness seemed to linger in those deep eyes. His face was cold, his lips pressed tightly together, and everything about him warned against crossing him.
For the past two years, Ye Yizhou's image in the entertainment industry had largely been that of a gentle, sweet darling.
His smile was sweet, his personality rather soft, and sometimes he didn't even dare speak loudly.
This was the first time they had seen Ye Yizhou looking cold, his presence at full force, in stark contrast to his usual self.
[Holy shit! Is this an Omega transformed into an Alpha?]
[Is someone this alpha really Ye Yizhou?]
[Ah, the camera shook so much just now. It really is haunted. Hasn't Ye Yizhou been possessed?]
Great, just great. A perfectly normal dating-show livestream had turned straight into a paranormal livestream.
